It would be interesting to see Prue, Piper and Phoebe back as the originals..just for a change.

As long as it's not Shannen, Holly and Alyssa - they're too old to play girls in their 20's. And others playing those three at exactly the spot where Charmed worked won't work for another 5-10 years.

Exactly, why revisit the past and do it all again. Others should take on the role.

Yep. Just not this soon unless like in Astral Echo's, they're *not* Prue, Piper, Phoebe and Paige.
What could be fun is in the way that the reboot of Charlie's Angels still had Charlie and Bosley, but three different Angels, if you still had Leo and Cole (played by others, with Cole as part of the series right away) but four different Charmed Ones who react towards those two totally differently than Prue, Piper, Phoebe and Paige did.

I've not seen the reboot of Charlie's Angels but that's an interesting idea..Leo and Cole played by other actors you think? ooh I don't know if I could cope with someone else playing Cole! Julian McMahon did it so well! Perhaps they might get one of the actors in who used to be in the original series - even if it's just one character. I really would like something that connects the reboot to the original in some way.

That's what I would love to see - say Holly playing Patty and Shannen playing Grams!

I realize while watching Charmed that even if they do the reboot the original Charmed will always brilliant beautiful and amazing. It is like wine it gets better with the more times you watch it.

Oh, man, I wish that was true for me.... It seems like each time *I* rewatch it, I find something else that bugs me about the show. So I stopped rewatching.
I so hope the reboot fixes a lot of the problems.

It was best for me when I was younger..I used to be obsessed with it. I still like it, but I know what's going to happen in each episode now.. And that takes some of the fun out of it.

For a reboot. I'd keep patty or grams alive, maybe have them learn it from them but a warlock or demon kills patty or grams in the first episode setting the stage for the series.
An interesting one, prue, Piper and Phoebe reunite after the death of their oldest sister Paige and then learn about their wiccan heritage from their mortal relative grams brother or a sibling of patty who has no powers but just knowledge and potions, so they can teach and mentor them. No need for Leo then or whitelighters.

As I said, should a reboot happen, how about having the sister be from a totally different ethic background.

I'd hate to see elders and whitelighters just don't bring them in. I prefer them being aided by there own family or other witches who don't have powers.

To me, the best kind of reboot would be one that takes the original show's premise and nothing else--new characters, new setting, new everything. It would still be similar in spirit, yet different enough to stand on its own. Trying to reuse the same characters and setting would only incite comparisons with the old show and guarantee failure for the new one.

Set the reboot in another city, in another state, and, as I said, use a different ethic group.

Maybe a different idea would be to do it with three brothers, and who knows say they call the males warlocks and females witches. That could be keeping the ideas, but changing it up. I know someone in the shoutbox was planning to do it, and I was on there talking to them before I joined here. I wished that person writes it, because it could be a cool story. Id love to read a story on a charmed-like show based on brothers, with changes but keeping some elements like the power of three or four even, and set it in another city. Someone needs to write that, or that person who I talked too in the shoutbox needs to post it on here and join the forum.

Despite my past support of the Charmed Sons spinoff, I'm not sure if I'd really want a show about three brothers. A big thing a Charmed reboot would bring to the table, nowadays, would be strong female leads kicking @ss in a genre setting, and shows like that, believe it or not, are in much shorter supply now than they were in 1998. Aside from Agent Carter (which isn't doing too hot in the ratings) and the upcoming Supergirl series, most of these kinds of shows have male leads, from Supernatural, to Teen Wolf, to Arrow, to The Flash, and so on. (On the other hand, the female-led Secret Circle and Witches of East End were both cancelled after only 1-2 seasons.) No, there wouldn't be inherently anything "sexist" or "wrong" with a show about three brothers (especially if they were still of a different ethnicity... men of color aren't exactly common as leads in these kinds of shows, either), and I'd probably still watch it if it happened, but still, it'd be, yet, another genre show about dudes in a market that's already oversaturated.

An homage to the original series in keeping with the shows premise so previous fans recognise it still but with a moderner twist that's retainable in it's own way for the new generation to enjoy so they appreciate it as well as we did like what the new series of Thunderbirds has done sorter in keeping with the look and feel of the original vehicles there, the way they launch, Tracey island and other aspects also appealing to the old Gerry Anderson fans and new ones to.

The original three sisters, and hopefully this time it is the entire series. My second thought is just do all four sisters for a reboot.
Another different reboot idea is having the sisters already being Witches and trained and prepared, but just not having become Charmed Ones yet. So Grams death which occurs in the first episode prompts them to finally accept their destiny. Another cool idea is making Victor a witch or Patty is alive. Having them being raised by their parents as witches but not Charmed yet (maybe both are witches this time, or just one), but both are killed in the first episode, is another interesting one.
