Which season of Charmed do you think was the most underrated and should have been given way more credit for how enjoyable it was? You can also pick more than one season.

For me, 2 and 8. I know people have their reservations over Season 8, but it was all wrapped up, and the story concluded, something which the majority of shows don't seem to get, or do. I think that deserves a lot more credit than it receives despite the storyline issues.

The first 2 seasons. A lot of people pass them over for 3 and 4 because of the lack of story arcs and Cole, but they had several great episodes and are, for the most part, the most rewatchable seasons for me. I generally like story arcs on my shows, but not on Charmed, where the writers clearly didn't know how to write them well, and I hate the direction Piper and Phoebe's characters went in after Season 2.

As long as you ignore the Dan-Piper-Leo triangle (which I wouldn't want to ignore if the series had ended when it should've - after either Season Three or Four) and some truly cringe-worthy episodes in the first two seasons, I'll agree totally. I'd rather watch them over and over than any other.

I'd rather watch them over and over than any other. Dan and Jenny are big marks against Season 2, but I can still tolerate them better than many characters from the later seasons. And, for every "Wedding From Hell" and "She's a Man, Baby, a Man," there were several episodes like "That 70s Episode" and "Morality Bites." Early Charmed was the best. I do enjoy some episodes from the later seasons, but I can't stand to rewatch them nearly as much. Most of the clunkier writing came out when they started focusing more on story arcs and worldbuilding, which Kern just wasn't capable of doing well. While Charmed, as a whole, is aging poorly, this is especially true for Seasons 3-8.

I actually like "Wedding From Hell", and "She's a Man, Baby, a Man", I think they're both quite funny and I'm probably in the minority, but I do like the demons of those episodes. The only problem I have with "Wedding From Hell" is Hecate: she's not a demon, but a Goddess of Magic! Why on earth the writers had to go and change that is something I will never understand. As for the original question, I think both Season 2 and 7 are underrated. The Avatar Arc was something that had a lot of potential, that started out well, but ended in a complete fiasco. Why, Brad Kern, why???

I think eight is pretty underrated. And I know that is considered one of the worst seasons and I don't entirely disagree with that (although I do think the Avatars was a pretty disappointing story arc).
I like season eight because it was the first time that the Charmed Ones went against powerful evil witches. They've battled evil witches before and all, but never were the stakes so high. I liked seeing them face a threat that was new to them. These weren't just demons that they had to defeat, but people they knew and cared for. It was cool to see them struggle with how to deal with it.
With that said, I do think that Billie and Christie were disappointing choices as the Ultimate Power that they had to face. I liked that The Triad was a part of the battle, but I didn't see Billie and Christie as this horrible threat. Phoebe's obsession with finding love grew tiresome in the sixth season, but it was dragged all the way into this one two years later. And the way the magical community treated them was just a horrible homage to their saves and battles over the first seven years.
So I liked the season because the threat was new and more human, but I didn't like the way the writers handled it. It had sooo much potential, and we got what we got.

The original first 4 seasons as this was the time when the Halliwell sisters were at their best and truly charmed in my opinion.

Well a lot of people hate season 7, but I personally think it's an improvement on 5 and 6. I've even seen many say it's worse than season 8, which is baffling to me. I still don't think it's anywhere near 1-4, and there are still some truly terrible episodes in it, but I think when it was good it was actually better than it'd been in a while.

Season 7 imo, that's where it should have ended, with them giving up magic and finding new identities so they could finally stop bleating on about wanting normal lives and Phoebe could have finally had her baby. Paige could have gone back to being a social worker and Piper could have still opened her restaurant.

Buffy was a good example of this (before they made the comics anyway.) I know some people want every little detail all wrapped up in a "happily ever after" bow, but I'd rather be allowed to make my own theories. Season 7 did that just fine in my opinion. The flashforward in season 8 always seemed like a dull fan fiction to me. "Everyone gets married, has a million kids and lives happily ever after right into old age- the end." Yeah, wow, exciting stuff

Yeah, wow, exciting stuff I am also someone who would of been happy if Something Wicca This Way Goes? was the ending, I like to be left with closure but wondering what happened myself, not spoon feed flashforwards like forever crap, I mean forever piper, no forever charmed lol Season 2 is very underrated, apart from the piper/leo/dan story, everything else was great. The sisters were great, and the standalone stories have alot of my favorites. Also Season 1 is my favourite season. Wedding From Hell", and "She's a Man, Baby, a Man are hated by some, but they way more entertaining and better than watching say Prince Charmed, Bare Witch Project or Witch Stock for instance.

That flashforward was one of the very worst things this show's ever done (and that's saying a lot). Season 2 is very underrated, apart from the piper/leo/dan story, everything else was great. I feel the same way. I think for many fans, Season 2 gets overshadowed by Seasons 3 and 4, which had Cole and the Source storyline. However, looking back, I can see many of the things I hate about the later seasons in Seasons 3 and 4 (like the ruination of Piper and Phoebe's characters), and I enjoy rewatching Season 2 far more, overall. Get past some of those awful earlier episodes that had Jenny in them, and Season 2 wasn't bad at all.

Jenny was only in four episodes, before they dropped her from the show.
What amazes me is why she was included in the main credits.

Yeah, Jenny was only in one scene or two in all the episodes she was in. Hardly enough to garner a spot in the opening credits.

Yeah, wow, exciting stuff It will be interesting to see what you think of S7 once you're done with your current re-watch... I prefer thinking that certain sections of certain seasons are either way over-rated or way under-rated. I don't like most of S7, but except for Phoebe's baby-daddy-search, I do like it once the Avatars are gone - the S7 Avatars (who are *nothing* like the S5 ones) are one of my least-favorite story arcs - for me, only the Leo-Piper-Dan triangle (along with Jenny), anything to do with Chris, anything to do with Billie, and anything to do with Cole after he takes in the Source powers are worse.

Yeah from rewatching season 6 and season 7, it definitely becoming clear to me that I've colored certain seasons in far more positive lights by being very selective about which bits I choose to rewatch. Think my brain did me a huge favor by repressing the worst parts.
