So I didn't check Charmed comics in some time (a long time ago actually). But I just found out that the writers killed Cole in the comics. And not just killed. But erased his soul from existences, like he never existed at all.
And I am like WTF writers! Couldn't they have done something else with his character? Removing him entirely is just stupid imo. And the character deserved so much better then this. I thought the comic writers would do him some justice after what tv show writers did. But this is just a disgrace imo!
R.I.P Cole! You'll be missed. At least they can no longer butcher your character!
What are your opinion/s?!

I think Cole has been treated better in season 10 than he has been for a long time actually. Not sure how much you know about the comics, but just so it's clear, he's erased in that they couldn't go back in time just to get him back or whatever, they still remember him and everything (wasn't sure if that's the impression you got, ignore me if I misunderstood)
Cole's sacrifice was an incredibly heroic act and showed how much he's progressed. He put Phoebe's family and happiness before himself. If they came up with a deus ex machina to bring him back, it would've just ruined it IMO. It wouldn't have been a sacrifice, Cole wouldn't be remembered as a hero, he'd just be the same as always; i.e: The 'he keeps dying and coming back' guy. Charmed would continue going down the path of least resistance, the athame story would be rendered entirely pointless and nothing would have really developed.
I like this ending for Cole, especially compared to Centennial Charmed where everyone hated him and nobody really cared that he was dead... in fact only Paige really saw him die. Now that was a crap ending. But then season 5 never did Cole any favours.

At first I really didn't like the idea, but if he does die as a hero then that makes things better. He dies in a good way, at least, and not with everyone hating him.

Erasing his soul from existence? He got himself killed in order to protect the Halliwells?
I'm too disgusted to say anything else. They're not worth the effort.

If he'd jumped in front of an attack for Phoebe, I would've just rolled my eyes, because yet again, Cole would revolve around her. But saving Coop, to me, makes him seem more heroic, because I think he would've risked himself for anyone, whether it was Coop or any other innocent... but if it was Phoebe, that wouldn't have come across IMO. It'd just seem like more Phoebe-Cole drama.

I'll admit I would have preferred for him not to die and just be left alone, to live his own life away from the sisters...
ljones, I'm curious: what exactly is it that disgusts you about how Cole died? Is it because of the way the sisters treated him in the past? If so, then I do kind of agree with you.

As I said, had he died to save the sisters, I would have rolled my eyes... they treated him like crap and had it been Phoebe, it'd just be more predictable Cole <3s Phoebe 4EVA!!! B.S.
But Coop wasn't there for Cole's story arcs, Cole hardly knew him and I personally think it could have been anyone innocent and Cole would have still risked himself. If that doesn't show growth, I'm not sure what does. It makes him far more heroic in my eyes than the sisters at any rate. Well, Piper or Phoebe anyway.
