They turned the snake and rabbit into mortals. But who's to say their offspring wouldn't inherit their animal abilities?

Are you talking about Season 2, with that spell that Phoebe's friends cast?

I seem to remember them ending up in jail at the end, so I doubt they'd get married and have kids. But since we don't know how long they could stay in prison... I don't know. Maybe they can't have any children?

They should have turned them back. All they had to so was word the spell more specifically. They snake and rabbit didn't actually kill anyone, so they most likely would have been released eventually.

I don't think there really was a reason. When they were arrested, it was made out to be poetic justice that they got to stay human, but were still going to be caged. Which is all well and good until they're in the prison yard and rabbit boy does one of his super jumps over the fence.
Also, the original spell that made them human was only for 24hours... the sisters' spell was permanent. So they actually kinda made matters worse.

"Heavy sigh". Great. Another bad deed committed by the Halliwells. As if they haven't done enough already. It's not really the animals fault, they weren't even real human beings to begin with. It's actually Phoebe's fault, since she gave her friends that spell. She probably didn't imagine it would turn out that way, but she's still partially responsible. Anybody else agree with me?
Completely unrelated to the topic: this is my one hundredth post!

No I don't think that phoebe should be at fault here. Just BC she said the spell that made the animals come to life.
That would be like a gun shop owner being held responsible for selling a gun to someone and that person shoots and kills another person.
If anyone should be to blame its the three girls that used the recording of phoebe to bring the animals to life. The girls should have thought it out better and had at least thought of all possibilities instead of just thinking about themselves and their own desires.

I think they were both to blame for it really. Phoebe for unknowingly causing the problem in the first place through giving the girls the rewritten spell and her college friends for been too selfish and not thinking things through beforehand even if they didn't know Phoebe was a witch in the first place and were surprised afterwards when the animals actually came to live.

I'm not blaming Phoebe for her accidental spell mishap; mistakes happen. I'm just saying, there was really no good reason they couldn't have corrected it afterwards.
The three college girls didn't seem to really believe it would work...although I always found it a bit hard to believe that they'd go to all the trouble of getting three animals and bringing them to a ritual they didn't actually believe in. But if they did really believe and they really did want to turn some animals into men for 24hrs to have sex with, then they're pretty disgusting.
