I agree with what you wrote Charmed world is filled with powers that go beyond the sisters and their world
The Titans were primordial forces of the universe before the intervention of the Olympian Gods, who brought order, ther symbolized he wild force of nature difficult to limit, they avoid any definition of good or bad Zeus himself, as a Konos's son, is a Titan and the Olympians are too complex to be hastily put into the categories of good and bad
Ditto for the angels, of the Death and of Destiny: what role and what power they have is hard to understand, but the Angel of Destiny of the season eight does not seem to be an example of kindness Instead of ordering Leo's death, she might deign to send a vision to Phoebe, for example
Entering the demonic world, the Sorce's power is out of discussion It's not known since the crowned demon held that power, definitely too much time seein the hysterical reaction to any challenge to his authority
The Source had imprisoned Zankou, not the Triad or the Thorn Brotherhood, this means that they didn't in any way threaten his power, maybe they were good vassals or enjoyed an independence conquered at the time of the battle for the Souce's power that Cole mentioned, certainly neither the Brotherhood nor the Traid were interested in upsetting the balance The Triad, as ways of acting, seems more like the Elders that other up level demons: it's not clear what kind of powers they had, but they seem to see beyond time as well demonstrated by the smart Christy's kidnapping
Only on one thing all the demonic world seems to agree: The Charmed Ones must be destroyed before they enter fully into their powers, adding to the stunning capabilities of the Power of Three to control the magic with spells that only they can pronounce, their personal powers
Prue added astral projection to her power, not yet developed in all its potential - see Morality Bites -of telekinesis Piper added fire power to her power, not yet developed in all its potential - see Morality Bites - to freeze time Phoebe had not yet obtained her empathetic power, a slow power to develop due to the difficulty that requires learning to feel, to manage emotions and even to channel, turning them into an offensive power, a terrible power, once well developped The Charmed Ones'ld be unbeatable
Prue's death not only weakens the sisters - Paige'll never be powerful as Prue - but also breaks a balance of which Phoebe, most of all, needed, frustating her growth as a witch
Only in this context, Billie and Christy'ld aspire to be dangerous

Oh I haven't quit, don't worry. I've just had a lot of last minute work dropped in my lap the last couple of weeks and have been making sure I don't fall behind with the fanfic in spare time.
I'm planning on watching some season 8 soon. I'll probably have a post up either Thurs or Fri.

One the site starts getting reorganized, I think these rewatches should have their own separate subforum or at least be pinned. They're very funny and enjoyable to read, and I think they deserve to be more prominent on the site instead of buried under a bunch of other threads.

Thanks Betty, that'd be awesome. It would make it easier for people to find my season 6 and 7 recaps; sounds like a good idea.

The One I Didn’t Watch AKA- Generation Hex
We start with Paige and Phoebe. Paige is going on her honeymoon (Tahiti btw) and she’s keeping her own last name.
Phoebe still finds StoopidCoopid to be a pain in the arse. So rare that we’re on the same page.
Piper has made a bon voyage dinner for Paige. Apparently due to everyone moving out, Piper has been obsessing all week and Christy seems just about ready to chew on an arsenic tablet.
They give Paige an envelope and say “happy honeymoon”. It’s empty and they say that’s the point. You see, they’re giving her a stress free honeymoon; no demons, no warlocks (pfft). Paige is clearly thinking “so glad I’m getting away from these cheap b!tches”, but she puts on a smile and plays along.
The last of the Three Stooges (by which I mean the Triad, not the sisters) freezes the room and turns up. He’s worried that Christy is getting distracted too much by all the pleasantries, but Christy quite boldly tells him to go stick it.
Christy has apparently moved into Paige’s room. Paige orbs off to her honeymoon.
Okay, what is up with Billie’s hair this episode? It looks completely frazzled; she’s like an electrocuted cartoon character.
Christy thinks Billie and her should move out, because Piper is doing her tree in. Billie changes the subject to their parents; apparently they’re in town again.
Christy updates the last remaining Stooge at Notwarts. Some young guy witch is being electrocuted by two demons, but he gets away. They say he spent a year torturing them; I know the feeling.
Mama and Papa Jenkins are upset that Christy doesn’t want to see them. Billie promises to try and convince her.
Phoebe is being followed by StoopidCoopid. We see two guys behind them looking at Phoebe all “Oooh bro, dat a$$!” and making grabby hand gestures. There Kern goes again with the self-insert.
StoopidCoop pops into her condo, because “no” means “please invade my privacy some more”. He starts on the whole: you can’t run from love stuff and it’s too early in the day for me to drink… but oh boy, they really want me to. Phoebe admits that it’s been a while since she had a date, but so what… StoopidCoopid's response? “So what is it’s unnatural!” Ah here we go again. Charmed’s ugly 'one size fits all' view of the world rears its ugly head. I guess I’m unnatural then, since I haven’t dated in years and have frankly had no desire to. Charmed, StoopidCoop, just screw off, seriously. There is nothing unnatural about people not dating, being single, not having sex… nor is there anything unnatural about those who do. I swear it’s actually baffling listening to the way they talk sometimes and remembering that this was only made in 2006! I have movies and shows in black and white that are more progressive and open minded about people and relationships!
*Sigh* anyway. Phoebe is sighing and rolling her eyes through all of this. StoopidCoopid is now onto the whole “Phoebe has sacrificed soooooooooo much” stuff and I’ll be saving that rant from the finale. StoopidCoopid makes Phoebe glow with a yellow aura and he says that it’s her heart blocking her from being open to love. Urgh, good grief. He teleports out with her.
They teleport into the past, not very far, we’re just in Dex’s apartment. Guys, this JUST happened. Anyway, Phoebe glamours, Dex faints. Actually, this does actually show us something else. In this version, we see after Dex faints. Phoebe takes off the glamour and then casually walks out! Pahaha. Seriously, she just leaves him there on the floor. *Snort*. Phoebe and StoopidCoopod teleport out.
Christy is annoyed because Piper altered a dress for her. She finds it weird that Piper is treating her like her sisters. It’s actually pretty hilarious how freaked out people are by Piper being nice.
The teen boy who was being tortured at the school arrives at the Manor with a girl. They’re being hunted by Noxon Demons who were trapped by Leo for advanced combat class. The demons can’t be vanquished apparently, which is why they used them for practice. Erm… okay. They remember Leo was mortal right? Also, isn’t vanquishing demons the whole point? Why practice with demons that are unvanquishable? Anyway, there were 5 in the class and they’re the only ones left.
The teenagers really want Leo’s help and have decided that Piper isn’t gonna cut it. Heh. But again, I ask, do they remember that Leo is mortal now? Christy is worried that the kid might recognise her, so she suddenly decides she wants to see her parents.
The Noxons are angry. They say they’re low level demons. Huh? You still count as low level when you can’t be vanquished? Yet again, I find myself struggling to come up with a name for these two, because there’s nothing to go on. Just two more forgettable guys in black. Actually, since there are two of them, I guess The Men in Black will do. Just keep in mind that they don’t have nearly as much personality as that reference suggests.
Back to Phoebe and StoopidCoopid. Now they’re watching 'Pardon My Past'. P.Russel and Anton getting it on. Coop is enjoying watching them a little too much. God this guy is such a creep! “My sisters had to vanquish him because he was a demon” EH EH, I’m sorry that’s incorrect, but you do get season eight on DVD and a month’s worth of psychotherapy.
Aww, we’re seeing Drake. Let’s enjoy Drake and try to ignore the fact that Phoebe and StoopidCoopid are basically establishing that everything he did for her in his last few weeks was in vain. Drake says goodbye and they kiss. I’m just now realising that if season 7 had ended the series, Drake would have been Phoebe’s final romance. DAMN IT GUYS!!! They teleport back to the condo and StoopidCoopid asks about the longest relationship she ever had. She says Cole.
Piper prepares for The Men in Black. The teens seem to have zero faith in Piper, but then she also refuses to let them help at all. I guess the Charmed One status doesn’t hold the weight it once did. Can’t imagine why.
The Men in Black show up. Piper’s potion hurts one of them, but no cigar. They shimmer out.
Billie and Christy meet the parents. Naturally, Mama and Papa Jenkins are thrilled. Christy seems very uncomfortable with the affection. Billie gets a call from Piper and leaves Christy with them. Christy asks how hard they looked for her. The Stooge freezes time and interrupts the bonding. Christy gets very angry and sets him on fire, but it’s a minor annoyance to The Stooge. He says she won’t have the power to destroy him until she’s “free of the ties that bind”.
Phoebe and StoopidCoopid teleport to Phoebe’s college, where “Cole and I first met”, by which she actually means “Where Cole and I first met without Shannen’s image becoming an issue.” A blonde Phoebe tries to kick Cole and it’s all super cute how she just tried to assault someone in public for tapping her shoulder.
“Ah the cute-meet” says Coop… erm, I think you mean meet-cute. I’m thinking the stoopid part of StoopidCoopid might be even more apt than I realised.
Then they teleport to Centennial Charmed, which Phoebe has never even seen before. Phoebe looks distressed seeing Cole vanquished. Oh pull the other one Phoebe.
Paige orbs in with a mocktail and Billie and Piper lie about what’s happening.
The Stooge offers to help the Men in Black. He wants them to kill Mama and Papa Jenkins in return.
Piper looks through Notwarts school files while Billie makes potions. They seem to be making out like Leo was working there right up to when he was frozen, saying he had school trips planned and stuff. They remember that it’s been overtaken by demons since the sisters faked their deaths right? Also… they ever planning on maybe doing something about that? Kinda been a while now… Anyway Piper can’t work out how to vanquish them. You could freeze them like your husband. Or hey, maybe turn them into trees like you did with that guy in the stupid nymph episode.
The teenagers have a different plan. They want to send the Men in Black to the astral plane. They say that time stops there so sending them there will freeze them in perpetual vanquish. Erm… I’m assuming this doesn’t apply to Abraxas and any of the bad guys he brought back. Then again, Anton is a demon now, so maybe this isn’t the episode to bank on them remembering season 2.
Piper and the teens b!tch and gripe at each other until Piper gives in.
Back at the condo. StoopidCoopid reminds Phoebe of the way love starts with a smaller clip show. He creates a hologram with his ring. We see her meeting Jason, then meeting Lesley, then dancing with Drake. StoopidCoopid does the glowy aura thing again and it shatters. And Phoebe believes in love again… again… again… some more.
Christy seems about ready to go back to her parents, but she gets a call from Piper suggesting that Billie is in big trouble. As soon as she leaves, The Men in Black appear.
Wyatt tells Piper to let the teens try, because “daddy would”.
Christy shows up at the Manor and realises the phone call was a set up.
Papa Jenkins finds Mama Jenkins dead and The Men in Black are waiting for him. Aww, it’s actually pretty sad.
Billie and Christy find them, Billie freaks out and Christy tells her to go back to her dorm.
The Men in Black have a disagreement and one of them goes off to get revenge on the teens.
He shimmers in. Potion thrown, fiery vanquish begins. The teens cast a spell and he disappears. Okay, well that’s that then.
Paige heals Piper then smacks her round the head for lying. Piper says she felt Leo’s presence. How is that? He’s not dead; he’s just in a block of ice.
Phoebe shows up all “what did I miss?” What else is new?
Christy finds The Stooge and is very angry. The Stooge says she is no longer distracted. Then, get this… Christy sticks her fist through his chest! The Stooge says she passed the final test and he explodes, leaving Christy alone with a very bloody arm. Wow, that was tense.
Next up- Get used to the annoying StoopidCoopid meddling. Also, Billie is turned against the sisters.

Ah, good to see this back again Yeah, Paige, run and never look back. You know you wanna. Woo! Woo! Woo! Nyuk! Nyuk! Nyuk! Two words: Restraining order. This stalker attitude is really creepy, isn't it. That darn 1950's thinking rears its ugly head again. Someone should introduce Phoebe to the Winchester boys. Compared to them, Phoebe is June Cleaver. Yeah, like we needed to see Dex again. Yeah, you would think Phoebe would see that. But, of course, she doesn't. Yeah, it would have been a nice thing to end on. However, they just HAD to go and make Season Eight. Amazing how Phoebe can remember an event she did not witness. As I have said, only Cole and Paige would have any memories of the alternate reality of CC. This scene should, logically, not be there. But when has logic ever stopped Kern and his "writers"? From this point on, Christy's continued allegiance to the Triad makes NO sense. They're responsible for killing her parents. Of course, as I said, logic was a totally foreign concept to Kern and Co.

After watching Generation Hex, I really wanted Christy to tell the sisters about the Triad coming back and helping them vanquish them. She clearly wanted to break her ties with the Triad and wanted to have a life with her family after spending time with her parents. This was where Brad Kern really messed up. Instead of having Christy turn really evil and have Billie on her side, he should have had Christy tell the sisters, them to turn against her, and Billie would be caught in the middle. Billie would be protecting Christy from them, but not fighting the sisters herself. Then, Billie convinces the sisters that Christy is just a pawn of the Triad so they all band together in vanquishing the Triad, giving us the theme of Billie and Christy that "sisters protect each other".

To "Generation Hex": Well, the two teens were good and though it took Piper a long way to accept their way. You could see that all relied too much on Leo - for every tiny detail. Really? Anyway, poor Phoebe and her so lost love life: my ass! In that case, she was doomed from the start: always the wrong men and nothing lasted really long. As for the Triad: They only want Christy to remember where her place is. As if she doesn't know that alone. Anything to get away from Piper: great idea, btw! And at that one time she shows her true feeling to her parents, the last Triad decides to kill them - for good. Still, goal accomplished. Billie and Christy are on their way.

I don't get why it's Coops concern about her dating life since there's really nothing wrong taking a break from dating especially recently.

Ah, but don't forget the Elders gave Phoebe this sperm donor, uh, I mean dream hunk, because they "felt sorry for her".
Kind of pathetic, if you ask me. Phoebe needed the Elders to give her the love of her life.
I mean Paige managed to find Henry just fine without the Elders help, right?

Coop was a rushed idea to fulfill the need to marry off all charmed ones in the flashforward. We as viewers got to know Henry and he got some development. Coop was introduced in the height of the series ending storyarc, that it felt like filler put into a period that we needed to just focus on closing the series.
Had her love interest came earlier, then we would of gotten more and could get to know him and the relationship.
Wasnt Coop rumored to be Cole in the end. But Julian was busy or they didnt have the budget. I could of sworn i read that, unless im wrong. I forget.

Did they plan to keep Phoebe with Dex originally but then realised what a ridiculous pairing it was and quickly axed him? Who knows...

But I recall, please correct me somebody if wrong. That both Dex and Leslie were written as 6-episode stints and the actors were only hired for 6 episodes each. Who knows.
An interesting idea or theory, was pointed out on tumblr when I went on there quite a while ago. Is if Prue had survived for all seasons, that Prue would of been given Coop by the elders than Phoebe. Seeing as she does feel like the character whom most likely would of given up on love. Gosh so glad she died that Kern wouldn't have done that to her. I can imagine them pulling that.
I do wonder if they had planned to bring back the original cupid from season 2, but the actor declined or was busy. Now yes still it gets rushed, but the fact that we saw him once in an earlier season, at least its slightly better, but just.

As far as I know, Dex was a WB-mandated Promotional Hunk: "Charmed Catches a Little Luck," May 27, 2005. tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve_main/1,1002,271|95549|1|,00.html Yes, you read that right, Mark McGrath was whom they originally cast in the role. However, he wised up and dropped out very early in the season's production, so they brought in Jason Lewis to replace him.

You're so right, I'm so glad Shannen was long gone by that point and Prue escaped being "gifted" a man by the Elders. Y'know because women can't function without a man around... I hated all these "guest hunks". How can you develop a relationship in 6 episodes? They could've at least stretched them out over the course of the season, instead of shoehorning them into the first 6 episodes and then dropping them like a hot stone.

Speaking of Mark McGrath being the original Dex... I found this a while back. Could just be a fan thing, but that paragraph is totally something the WB would write, thinking back to their horrendous trailers.
