There is no other like Piper. She is a great leader, sister, wife and mother and best of all she always knows what to do and how to do it. Without Piper there would be no Charmed Ones...

Talk about barking orders. See the interaction between Piper and Paige in Charmed and Dangerous. She can be tough, but Piper also yields. She is more flexible as a leader than Prue perhaps was.

She's also a lot more forgiving and open to getting help from others.

And Prue remained a better leader. I'm sorry. I realized that you all love Piper. Of the three sisters between Seasons 4-8, Piper was also my favorite. But Prue was a lot better as a leader than Piper ever was. My opinion on this matter will never change. The Charmed Ones made too many mistakes when Piper was the so-called leader.

But they also made a lot of mistakes when Prue was "the so-called leader". You have to look at both sides not just pick and choose and close your mind off to the other.

I agree with ljones that Prue was the better leader and this is coming from someone who has loved Piper since the beginning. But Piper was a good leader too. Both Piper and Prue made mistakes when they were the leaders.

Notice that I never said Piper was a better leader but I understand and still defend the point that when Prue died it made the most sense for her to be the one to take over that role and she did a fine job at it with so little "training". They had very different personalities and most definitely different styles, so it's unfair to compare them.
I think it's fairly obvious that the charmed ones made a very fatal mistake when Prue was the "so called" leader. Piper died because of a mistake they made under Prue's command. In the end, it cost Prue her own life.

Jeez Louise people..... it would not have mattered who it was leading them. Im pretty sure they would have made some mistakes anyway. No one is perfect and things dont always happen like we plan.

To what critical mistake under Prue's leadership are we referring? To AHBL? If Prue is to blame for anything, it is for not exercising greater leadership and not insisting that Phoebe postpone the Cole vanquishing nonsense and deal with the issue at hand, saving Dr. Griffiths and dealing with Shax. It's Phoebe's obsession - and not Prue's leadership that costs first Piper, then Prue their lives. (This is a discussion we've had in another thread and I don't wish to repeat it her. Suffice it to say, that Prue should have been more insistent with respect to Phoebe.)

That's exactly what I meant. I also mean that Prue should not have insisted in going after Shax on the street, which is what caused the exposure problem.

And that too. But, I can almost excuse all of this. It's not really fair to attack Prue's leadership qualities in an episode designed to get rid of her character. In another episode, Prue probably never would have pursued Shax into the open. That would be like throwing caution to the wind, something Prue's character was hardly one to do.

Prue wasn't supposed to die. I'm pretty sure they had planned on bringing both Prue and Piper back for season 4. If you want to compare, how about Apocalypse not? Prue followed the guy by herself and got herself into a big 'ol mess as well.

But, then so did Piper when she went chasing after one of the horsemen. And, notice, too, I did say "almost excuse", especially since we know what happened next.

The point is that saying that Piper made mistakes as a leader doesn't mean that Prue didn't make big ones as well. They are human and are bound to make mistakes.

Piper was not always outgoing. I don't see her as mean but more as snarky and sarcastic. Life has been tough on her and all the crap she's been through changed her a bit, made her a bit more edgy. She was still a sweet and caring sister/mom/wife and friend though.

Why? Because she became the oldest? There has to be a better reason than that. Look, I like Piper. I always have. Even during the period when it was hard for me to like the Charmed Ones. But she has never really displayed a temperament for leadership when it came to the supernatural before Prue's death. Even Phoebe had on several occasions.

I gave you more reasons than "she's the oldest" but you don't seem to be reading those posts.
