I remember watching Holly on Picket Fences. She was great even then. This is a person who has not yet reached her pinnacle as an performer. She was STELLAR as Piper, and gave some of the single most amazing and BELIVEABLE performances on episodic television. She made us FEEL. But I think, after she has had time to, of course, have this new baby, be a mom and wife, take a well deserved rest and get focused again, she will be back. We will see her in something fresh and new, and I trust her judgement in projects that she accepts. She is selective, and it has served her very well. I can't wait to see here again!

I think Holly is a great actress.....to me she is the one that shows most of her emotions,when she is mad,sad,scared,ect.She is also funny.She is like one of my favorite actresses.

Me too. HMC is a great actress, I love to watch her play. I hope she get another serie or she does a lot of movies!

Again, I ask from whom? The industry? Maybe. That remains to be seen. Will she be relegated to Lifetime movies. Will she return to network TV as a dramatic lead? That remains to be seen. Certainly, the fans appreciate and love her wide dramatic range.

Very few people knew who Holly was before Charmed. She's been acting since she was a little girl but she has yet to gain the amount of recognition and credit she deserves. She is an actress who can act circles around almost any other actor/actress out there. Charmed fans appreciate her and her talent but I still have yet to see that from anyone outside of the Charmed circle.

Yeah I never even heard of Holly Marie Combs until I started watching Charmed just last summer. She does not get and credit or recognition from anyone who does not watch Charmed.

If you had lived in the States - not saying you don't - most people would have heard of her from the series Picket Fences, which got some critical acclaim. But, as a child actor, she along with many others had a difficult road to hue. Once you're a grown-up, you become pretty useless. Consider what happened to Alyssa Milano. She had to do soft-porn (Poison Ivy) to get any roles. Holly did a couple of Lifetime movies. I've seen one of them - about a year before Charmed - and she played a teenage daughter, quite well I might add. It is a testament to Holly's talents that she made the transition from child to adult actor. Where she goes from here, I don't know. But her resume speaks for itself. The same with Alyssa. Rose has it easier, as she already had an indie movie career. And, Shannen .... Well, pretty much every time Shannen is Shannen it's a disaster for the world. If only she didn't have to have an outside life....

I don't live in the States, and even here, in the little Belgium, they air 'Picket Fences'. Still! So I've seen her there (I didn't like the show very much, but I really liked her acting).
I hope she doesn't disappear from the screen, and when she starrs in another show, that they air it in Belgium too, 'cause I just love her acting. She's one of the best!

Your concern is mine, too. Holly doesn't seem to be the typical Hollywood actress. No artificial enhancements, no attempt to straighten out her teeth. She just seems like a genuine artist, one very much interested in the craft who does as much with her eyes, her facial expressions, her gestures (see Charmed Again Part 1, for only one of many, many examples) as she does with any dialogue she is given. I, for one, expect to see her end up in a lot of made-for-TV movies that the Lifetime Channel airs. That's kind of where Charisma Carpenter has ended up. And, Tori Spelling?

And that's a shame! Women, especially ageing women, have a very diifficult time in Hollywood! At least, she has her family!

I think that the little imperfections make Holly much more believable as any character she plays. She doesn't look fake; she looks like an attractive woman you would see on the street. As for her career, I wouldn't mind if she went on to make several Lifetime movies. Many of you might not remember Jaclyn Smith from the original "Charlie's Angels". After that show ended, she did quite a few made for tv movies based on Danielle Steele novels that I really enjoyed. This might be a good forum for Holly. She could make one movie a year and still have plenty of time for her beautiful babies while we would be treated to her incredible acting. In a perfect world, there could even be a reteaming of her with Brian. I would love to see that!

I'm with oldwitch. I think it's the imperfections that make Holly are much more believable character and set her apart from all of those Hollywood bimbos. Ever since, Hell Hath No Fury it's been hard to avoid Holly's very toothy grin. But, I like that. She has no reason to be ashamed. She's a great actress with alluring looks.
