Mandie and the Cherokee Treasure, a movie based off my favorite book series as a girl (and probably my favorite book series period). I've been afraid to watch the three movies because I was afraid they would change too much. *sigh* I was right. Not bad overall, but doesn't do Mandie justice. One more to go.

I watched it three times. First two times with a different family member and then alone. So loved it a bit too much. Even though fully I expected to be disappointed because there were no songs nor Mushu, Li Shang or Mulan's grandmother. But I get it's important to change things because in the modern context, it's weird having a romantic relationship with your commanding officer. And a dragon is not supposed to be wise cracking guardian thing but respected symbol in China. But introducing the witch character who transforms into the hawk of the main villian is probably the best change Disney made. |
