I've read 2 more books from the 'House of Night' series - " Untamed" and " Hunted" - and I really enjoyed them. I will review them in the House of Night series thread. I also read a couple more Charmed novels a while ago: " The Legacy of Merlin" - Prue has to travel to England to buy some books for a collector but Phoebe and Piper decide to tag along. Whilst in England, Phoebe meets a tall, dark and handsome man, Niall, who she falls in love with. However, the Charmed Ones learn Niall is not all he seems when Piper sees him leading a Druid ritual. When they confront him, he claims to be from the past (around the time King Arthur ruled) and says that he was brought to the present time by the Druids in order to use him to produce a powerful child (as he is the son of Merlin...). Piper and Prue travel back in time to get a spell from Merlin to send Niall back in time himself but things don't go as planned... It wasn't my favourite of the Charmed books I have read so far but it was still very enjoyable with a few interesting twists. " Soul of the Bride" - This one was ok, not one of my favourites though. In order for Prue to persue her photography career with 415 Magazine, she has to come up with an original idea to be presented in the mag. Whilst researching her idea (Greek gods) in the library, Prue meets Mitchell, a journalist, and they instantly hit it off leading to Mitchell becoming Prue's assistant on the photoshoot. Prue sets up the manor as the location for the shoot, gets the models ready and in place (including Phoebe and her latest crush from College, Nikos) and even receives an antique camera from Nikos to make the photos look more authentic. However, as soon as Prue takes a shot, all the models disappear from sight leaving Prue, Phoebe and Piper to discover what's happened to the models and why it's happened... The plot was quite good but the way it was written wasn't the best, it could have been made more exciting but I would still recommend reading it.

Over the summer I read " Endal" by Allen & Sandra Parton; this book is based on a true story about a man, Allen, who suffers a serious head injury whilst fighting in the Gulf War and when he returns home he can't walk, talk and has lost most of him memory (including that he is married to a woman named Sandra). Whilst looking for a guide dog to help Allen with his day-to-day life, the pair meet Endal, a labrador puppy, who has problems of his own. It's a lovely, heart-warming story with chapters alternating between being written by Allen and by Sandra so you get to hear both sides of the story. If you like real-life reads then I really recommend this book to you. I read some more Buffy the Vampire Slayer books too: " Return to Chaos" - This is probably my least favourite Buffy books so far. Basically it's about 4 Druids (3 brothers and their uncle) who come to Sunnydale in order to close the Hellmouth, thus stopping any more demons from coming through. They had tried to perform the ritual the year before but it wasn't completed and the brothers' father ended up dying whilst performing the spell. There's also a storyline about a large group of vampires and one of the vampires, Naomi, is hypnotising Cordelia to make her do and say unusual things... I didn't really enjoy the storyline or the characters which were introduced in the novel but if you really are a fan of the series then I would still read it because you never know, you might enjoy it more than I did. " The Power of Persuasion" - This was more enjoyable than the last book! It's about the Moon family - two girls, Calli and Polly, and their mother, Mo - who move to Sunnydale. The girls attend the school as students and their mother gets a job at the school. Basically, the three of them are demons and they are trying to create a "Womyn Power" group at school, however, this is no normal group because the Moons despise men and think women should rule the world. More guys end up being killed and then Willow is brainwashed into joining the "Womyn Power" group by Calli and Polly so Buffy finally decides something must be done! It was quite a good plot and the ending was especially good although some parts still could have been improved. I would recommend this book to a Buffy fan. " Deep Water" - This book is about a selkie (a girl that can turn into a seal with her sealskin - she is named Ariel by Buffy and co.) who is discovered on a beach by Willow when she is helping to clean up after an oil spill. Ariel, however, cannot return to the ocean because her sealskin was damaged by the oil spill so Willow tries to find a spell to clean it for her. Meanwhile, some merrows (mean mermaid-like creatures) have come ashore to Sunnydale in search of 'food' but this upsets the vampires of Sunnydale leading to a "turf war" between the merrows and the vampires in which Buffy and co. get stuck in the middle of. The book was enjoyable and had a few nice little twists although at some parts it moved a little too slowly.

^ I really like your Alice/Jasper sig Teyla! A couple of months ago I read " The Birthing House" by Christopher Ransom. I was a little disappointed with this book; it was a horror/thriller about a married couple, Conrad and Jo Harrison, who move into a new home. Not long since being there, Conrad starts to hear a baby crying during the night, seeing blood on the floor and, whilst his wife is out of town for work, is haunted by a woman who looks very much like his wife... I thought the plot of the book was good but because of the way it was written it loses momentum at points and I had to force myself to read more. Also, the ending was ok but it could have been stronger and definitely made more understandable. I also read a couple more Buffy tVS books: " The Willow Files, Volumes 1 and 2". These 2 books included novelisations of 3 Buffy episodes each which focus on Willow Rosenberg. Volume 1 included ' I Robot... You Jane', ' Phases' and ' Dead Man's Party' whilst Volume 2 included ' Gingerbread', ' Doppelgangland' and ' Choices'. It was nice to read these because you realise how much Willow changes and grows up during the first 3 seasons plus they were well written. I recommend these to any Buffy fans!

I'm currently reading the Da Vinci Code, but I wish I haven't seen the movie when I was around page 200 when I saw it. I'm looking forward to reading the latest Princess Diaries book, I love that series. Princess Diaries has a book out?! omg i want it!! The last book i read and finished was Wicked. It was absolutely wonderful. I tried to read Son of a Witch, but i kind of got bored. I really want to read the one about the Lion though. I also have Gregory Macguire's Cinderella one and Snow White one as well. I started the Cinderella one. My favorite author is Dee Henderson. She writes Christian mysteries. One of her series is the O'Malley Series. They are about 7 orphans who change their name to O'Malley and become a family. Each book is about an event happening in one sibling's life like one is a hostage negotiator, another a fireman, one a forensic scientist, ect. Some events follow from book to book. Its very very good She has another series out called the Uncommon Heroes. I heard they are good too but I never read them. The setting for those books are historical and some of them are sailors, soldiers, medics, ect. This thread reminds me I should start reading again.... lol I have been too busy trying to make my first D&D class! Its called Witch and its for a campaign setting my bf and his friend are working on

^ Oh by the way Clare, I finished Marked and it was incredible. I loved it!!! Yay, I'm glad you like it! A while ago I read " The Plantation" by Chris Kuzneski and I really enjoyed it. It's quite an intense read (and uses quite a bit of "strong" language) - I'd read one of Kuzneski's books later books before (I think I posted a small review of it somewhere in this thread) but this book is a lot darker than his later ones. The book is based around 2 main characters - Payne and Jones - and the plot is basically about reverse slavery on a plantation... There's lots of action and several twists which make it interesting to read. I also read " Sign of the Cross" by Chris Kuzneski and liked it. When you read books like these you can't take them too seriously or else you'll see plot holes and the like... Anyway, the Payne and Jones partnership really makes the books enjoyable because they can be so funny together whilst in very serious and/or dangerous situations. The book is about mysterious murders which keep happening in different locations around the world which mirror the crucifixion. Again, there's lots of action and mystery and this book isn't as dark as the previous one. I finally got around the reading the Buffy tVS 'Gatekeeper Trilogy' which consists of " Out of the Madhouse", " Ghost Roads" and " Sons of Entropy". The trilogy is about the Gatekeeper (who guards the Gate (or 'portal') which keeps evil/supernatural beings away from Earth) who is dying and his son, who would become the next Gatekeeper, has gone missing meaning that the evil/supernatural beings - trolls, sea monsters, etc. - are beginning to escape onto Earth. I really enjoyed the first book because there was lots of action and details about the Gatehouse and the Gatekeeper and his history. The plot is about the initial effects caused by the Gatekeeper becoming weak and Buffy and co. having to deal with the amount of extra and different demons. Plus, Giles has been attacked whilst miles away from Sunnydale at a Watchers' meeting. When Giles does get back to Buffy, he works out that there must be something wrong at the Gatehouse and informs Buffy that she must travel to Boston (where the Gatehouse is located) to contact the Gatekeeper. So, Buffy, Giles, Xander and Cordelia travel to Boston whilst Angel, Oz and Willow remain in Sunnydale. Angel fights some 'Sons of Entropy' and finds out that their leader, Il Maestro, is planning on opening the portals to the other dimensions to let the demons run loose on Earth. In Boston, Buffy and co. help the Gatekeeper to fight the demons which are escaping through the portals and lock them back into their 'rooms'. Oz and Angel then travel via the 'ghost roads' to Boston - along the way they see the ghosts of Kendra and Jenny Calendar (who both died in the show). After another fight, the Gatekeeper tells them that his son has been kidnapped and is somewhere in Europe. The book ends on the revelation that Spike is behind Il Maestro's plan. I didn't enjoy the second book as much as the 1st as it seemed to move a lot more slowly. It follows Buffy, Oz and Angel as they travel to Europe via the ghost roads in search of the Gatekeeper's son. Whilst back in Sunnydale, the other scoobies are having to deal with the legendary Flying Dutchman which Giles ends up being taken hostage on. Buffy and co. find out about Spike and Dru's role in events but they don't find the Gatekeeper's son. They also meet Micaela, the 'daughter' of Il Maestro, who doesn't agree with his plans so she ends up helping the group to escape back onto the ghost roads. When Buffy returns to Sunnydale she finds out that Xander has been shot and is dying and decides there is only one thing to do - take him to the Gatehouse so that he can be healed. I really liked the third book and it wrapped up the trilogy very well. When Willow and Cordelia arrive at the Gatehouse with a dying Xander, they find out that the Gatekeeper has died but they use a magical cauldron to heal Xander's wound; however, the Gatehouse then thinks that Xander is the heir to the Gatehouse and he becomes the Gatekeeper - and gets all the magical abilities and such of a Gatekeeper. Back in Sunnydale, Buffy has to rescue her mother who has been kidnapped whilst Giles tries to locate the Gatekeeper's son after he finds out that if Xander remains as the Gatekeeper, his body will not be able to withstand the power and it will kill him. The Gatekeeper's son is found and Oz and Angel take him to Boston where he receives the Gatekeeper's abilities from Xander and saves the Gatehouse. But before the story can have a happy ending, Buffy must defeat one final demon which no weapon can hurt it - " For man's only weapon must be himself" - so Buffy uses her own bare hands to kill it. It took me quite a while to read this trilogy as parts do get quite confusing, but in general, I found the plot interesting. The characters were well written and the descriptions of the locations were very good.
