Animosity of Affinity

Chris kept rubbing his eyes as if they they had dirt in them or something... It wasn't working. He closed his eyes for a bit hopeing that maybe if he relaed them he would get his vision back... He opened his eyes... It was still blurry.

He then heard Melinda call for the envelope again and herad her mutter something... As soon as she did, his visions came back and he saw everything perfectly again. Chris jumped off the bed and saw Melinda was sitting down on it. He looked around and was able to see everyrthing was perfect clarity. He then looked at his sister and talked in a calm voice.

"Yeah I'm fine, don't worry about me.... But you need to tell me what you did... Now... And if that envelope is that important to you, then forget it, you don't have to tell me if you don't want me to know.... But if it's serious, I NEED to know! We can't keep secrets from each other... I learned that the hard way."

Chris smiled.

“I said a spell to hide the contents inside the envelope and....well I didn’t expect that to happen, but I can’t tell you Chris......this is different than that. Then Melinda thought of it some more. “Chris.....even if I wanted to tell you.....it is isn’t my place to.....it’s Cherish’s” She said looking up at Chris wondering if he could figure it all out by that one sentence.

Cherish left the bathroom, a little worred about Chris. But she needed to tell John what was happening. When she reached the table they were sitting at she couldn't find John, maybe I am looking at the wrong table Cherish thought she went to the right place but its very reasonable that she didnt. So Cherish did a lap around the cafeteria, but couldnt seem to find him. "Ill just head up to Mel's room. Maybe she has some information on Chris" Cherish made her way back up to Melinda's room when she got there Melinda and Chris were sitting there it looked like they were in deep conversation. "Knock Knock" She said as she entered into the room.

Chris's head went up as Melinda said that he should talk to Cherish about whatever was in the envelope.

"Cherish? Is she alright? Is she sick?"

As soon as he finished talking, Cherish appeared in the doorway... Chris still felt so bad and he felt like dirt whenever he saw her... He still cared so much about her, and a part of him will always belong to her... He hoped she was alright and that whatever was in the envelope wasn't serious...

"Hey.... Cherish..."

Chris looked down... He didn't want to look at Cherish in the face... He hated himself still and couldn't face looking at her... and at the pain he caused her...

Cherish heard the pain in Chris' voice and she felt bad, especially because she was carrying his child. Should I tell him, he deserves to know, I should tell him, maybe I can just give him the envelope and he can read it himself. No, that's mean. I should probably tell him. "Um, hi, how are you doing Chris? Did you get any information, about, what happened?" Cherish was starting to fidget, her hands were getting clammy, she felt like she was gonna faint. "Umm i need to get some air, Uh Chris wanna get some air with me?"

Chris looked up and shook his head....

"No... Mel hasn't told me anything yet.... Are you alright Cherish? Is everything ok?"

Chris watched as Cherish fidgited around... She didn't look so good... She asked Chris if he would go with her... He nodded and followed her out of the room.

He put his hands in his pockets and awkwarsly looked at her.... They soon reached outside. They sat down on a bench... Chris noticed that Cherish really didn't look too good...

"Cherish... Is everything alright? What's going on?"

Cherish walked outside with Chris. It was difficult to even feel his presence, she loved him, with all her heart and it was too hard to just write off what he did. But he was the only person she ever loved like that, and he was one of her best friends, she couldn't just forget him, when she wanted to forgive him. "Yeah, everything is alright, I think. I wanted to tell you, I am sorry for what I've said to you, and how I have made you feel. I have gotten some news recently, and it made me rethink this whole situation." Cherish started feeling a little more comfortable just getting some of it off of her chest. "I can't say I understand what happened, but I want to forgive you for it, I know what love feels like, and it is something you can't deny, and if you love, her, then love her. I want you to know, I think I will be okay with it." Cherish finished, and even though there was so much more she wanted to say to him, she just couldn't. She was afraid, afraid that he might not forgive her for it. "Chris, I uhh, nevermind. Can you forgive me?"

Chris listened to every word that came out of Cherish's mouth... He could feel his heart breaking when she said she was sorry... Chris shook his head. He looked at Cherish's eyes.... He grabbed her hands...

"Cherish... you don't have to apologize for anything. You didn't do anything wrong... I hurt you... I deserved you yelling at me... I will never forgive myself for hurting you the way I did, you didn't deserve it... You're a sweet, caring, beautiful person. Inside and out.... A part of me will always belong to you... I don't want to throw our friendship away... You're my best friend..."

Chris then heard Cherish ask him for his forgiveness....

"You're asking me for forgiveness? What for Cherish? You didn't do anything to me..."

Chris rubbed his eyes, his vision was blurry again.... He knew it wasn't from any spell... it was from tears that were beginning to form... He took a deep breath and looked back at Cherish....

"Now... what's going on? What's in the envelope that's so important? Are you sick? Is it serious?"

Cherish listened to Chris, and all the sweet things he said. She couldnt tell if it made her feel better or if it made it hurt a little more, but when the tears started forming in Chris' eyes it made it clear that Cherish heart felt like it was healing a little. Cherish was about to answer Chris' first questions when he asked about the envelope.
"Oh, that, it's nothing really. Some test results I got a little earlier. It isn't anything serious." Cherish wasnt sure if she should tell him still, she wasn't convinced that he would be okay, and he didn't need the stress. "I'll be okay I am sure." Cherish said not so reassuringly.

"Look... I know something is up... And I know it serious and I know that it somehow concerns me, because Mel was so protective of whatever secret this is.. She didn't want me to know and she said that I should find out from you... Cherish... You can tell me what's really happening... I promise I'll help you throught whatever it is..."

Chris looked at Cherish and gave her a friendly smile... He wanted to help her though her pain... If she chose to let him help her...

Okay, so he knows its serious, he knows its about him, I might as well tell him right? No, I cant, hell just run away, he wont help, hes lying. Cherish felt like she was fighting with the angel and devil on each shoulder.
"Well, the test I took, it does involve you, and I don't know if you really want to know. I'm not sick or anything, but" Cherish decided maybe should could mask the ending by saying it real fast and under breath."im pregnant" she speedily whispered.
"So I think I have enough air, wanna go back inside?" She stood and started walking away noticeably trying to avoid Chris' response.

Chris took in a deep breath and prepared for the news that Cherish would give him... But nothing could prepare him for what she was about to say...

Chris wasn't surprise that the news concerned him as much as it concerned him... He was glad that she wasn't sick... He then the two magical words...

I'm pregnant

Chris felt his heart literally jump out... His eyes enlarged to the size of dollars... He was in complete shock...

Oh my God... Cherish is pregnant... and I'm the father....

There was no doubt in his mind that the baby was his... They had made love... even if it was in a dream.. they still did it.... Chris snapped out of his state of shock to see Cherish walking away. Chris bolted up and grabbed Cherish's arm...

"Where are you going? We need to talk about this... This is huge..."

Chris knew what he had to do.. he wanted to part of this child's life... He would help Cherish through this...

CHerish didn't think he had heard her, until she felt her arm being grabbed.
"Im sorry Chris, I didn't know, I didn't know what to do?" Tears started forming in Cherish's eyes she put her head on Chris' chest hoping he wouldn't push her away. "What are we going to do?" SHe felt over dramatic and couldnt tell if it was hormones or true feelings. But this was a lot for any one to handle. "I am so sorry!"

Chris was surprised when Cherish started crying on his shoulder... but he held her close and wanted to take her pain away... He rubbed her back. He then looked at her and wiped some of the tears from her face.

"Don't worry, ok.... I promise, I won't let you go through this alone... I swear I'll be by your side every step of the way..."

Chris then held her close to him again.... He still needed to get over the shock himself... He was going to be a daddy... A small life was starting to form... He then heard Cherish say that she was so sorry...

"Don't say you're sorry... This is nothing to apologize for... I'm glad you told me this news..."

"Im just sorry cause we both don't need this right now, but if anything, I'm glad that I'm having this baby with you." SHe could feel Chris rubbing her back and it soothed her so. He may not be hers anymore, but the moments she spent laying on his shoulder she realized that she had a part of him, that no one could ever take away. "SO, do you want a boy or girl?" Cherish decided to ask a question hoping to lighten the situation.

Chris smiled and shook his head...

"It doesn't matter how much stress we're all in... This was something that needed to come out..."

Chris laughed when Cherish asked if he wanted a boy of a girl...

"I don't know really... I would love the baby the same if it was a boy or a girl..."

Cherish giggled "We should probably go back inside, your sister is probably worrying about us. You know how she is!" She knew it wouldn't be perfect between them, but it was something she was willing to work on, something theyd have to work on. "Um Chris, one more thing, I think you're going to be a great father!" Cherish kissed Chris' cheek and started walking back inside.

Charis laughed when he thought about his sister... Mel, the worrier... Chris nodded and was about to start walking when Cherish, said something that would stay in Chris's mind for a very long time...

I think you're going to be a great father...

Chris looked down....

A great father.... a great father.... I hope so...

Chris then felt Cherich kiss him on his cheek... The instant she did... he felt his heart leap just a little bit....

Oh no... Don't do this Chris.... You can't hurt anymore people... Just smile and follow her inside...

Chris smiled and follwed Cherish inside... He needed time to think... But not now... He would make time to think about everything... What was he going to say to Bianca? She would not like this one bit... How was he going to deal with these feelings that were starting to re-surface?

Chris took a deep breath and walked inside.

Cherish walked inside and went to Melinda's room. She was still sitting there. "That was good air!" Cherish said hinting to Melinda that she did tell him, and it seemed to be going well. "I think I am gonna go to your house and take a shower, I feel, disgusting, I forgot I slept in a cemetery last night. Can I borrow one of your guys' keys?" Cherish reached her hand out until someone put a key in it. "Okay guys I'll see you later." Cherish turned around and walked back out the door she came in and headed to the Halliwell pad.

Melinda took the chair over to the window and sat down and started to gaze out the window as soon as her brother left thinking about everything. Then she started thinking of her baby and Andy. Her baby was going to have no father and it was all her fault. What if her child grew up and resented her? What if it ended up like Wyatt? What if she was a terrible mother? Melinda stared out at the window as it started to sprinkle rain and tears started forming in her own eyes. She did not want to think of all the terrible things, but she couldn’t help it. She hated herself inside, why did she have to say such things to him? Melinda just stared out the window in thought when she heard footsteps outside the door she figured it was her brother coming back from speaking with Cherish, but then she heard Cherish’s voice but she left quicker than she came and Melinda did not have time to respond so she just looked back out the window wondering what had gone wrong in her life.
