Charmed Without A Choice

Leo looked at Paige. "Nothing about Wyatt and Chris they have to talk about something really important for both of them" He stated and then turned to look at Phoebe. "And I am sure it is not Leola's bussiness" He said and then looked back at his plate. Phoebe looked at him. "I am sure that what it is we all have the right to know" Phoebe said and looked at Piper, who nodded. Leo sighed and went into the kitchen.

Chris looked at Wyatt. "Sorry, dad held me in the kitchen" Chris answered to Wyatt's comment. "It's alright" Wyatt answered and looked at him. "What shall we do about the Barbas issue?" He said and Chris looked at him. "We're not even sure of it is him" He answered and Wyatt looked at him. "Who else, Chris?" Wyatt stated and looked at the floor. Chris sighed.

Melinda looked between her parents and finally rose to her feet. "Well I'm going to uh....welll...uh....ah screw it, I'm gonna go eavsedrop as well" stated Melinda and she scurried towards the hallway and tip toed up the stairs and crept by the door with Leola, both girls with their ears pressed against the door.


Paige raised an eyebrow and looked at Phoebe and Piper. "I see nosyness is a female trait in the Halliwell line" she said in amusement and Jake slowly smiled, but kept his gaze low, thinking things over in his mind as he stared at his half filled plate.

Piper looked at Paige. "Well we can't help it. can't we?" She said and Phoebe nodded. Leo was in the kitchen looking at his plate. He was wondering what it was all about. Piper came in and looked at him. "But if it is, Mr. Grumpy" She said and gave him a peck on the cheek. Leo looked at her and smiled. Phoebe came in behind Piper. "Well, Leo. I thought that you had already went and bugged in Wyatt and Chris" Phoebe said and Leo looked at her. "No, they asked not to be bugged" He said and looked at his plate. "I trust them on whatever they are talking about" Leo added.

Chris looked at Wyatt. "How do you know Barbas is not tricking you into believing he is after Jake?" Chris asked Wyatt, who nodded. "You don't get it Chris" He said and looked at the window. "My greatest fear is to lose the ones I love, in other words my family. Barbas knows that and he is going to use that to get to Jake, I know it" Wyatt said and looked at Chris after finished talking.

Jake slowly rose to his feet and Prue looked up. "You okay?" she asked and Jake nodded softly and smiled weakly. "Yeah...I'm fine...just need to think alone" he said softly and Paige and Prue looked at each other sadly as he began to walk elsewhere in the house.

Melinda and Leola looked at each other as they realised Wyatt's statement. This could be bad, if Barburus chose Wyatt's fear, what was to say he would not go after all of them? Including Jake's??? Jake sighed as he stared at his reflection in the mirror in the bathroom, rubbing his eyes as he tried to keep his mind straight, he was so tired...and afraid.

Phoebe went out the kitchen and looked at Prue and Paige. "Where is Jake?" She asked and looked around. She then saw him wandering all around the house. "Well, poor kid. After all he's been through I'd be like that also." She said and sat down again.

Piper looked at Leo and smiled. "Are you alright?" She asked now that her sister was gone. Leo looked at her and nodded a no. He was worried about Chris and Wyatt but most of all Jake was the one that worried him the most. Piper hugged him, now it was her turn to comfort him.

Wyatt looked at Chris who was in sord of a shock moment. "Chris, I need an answer here" Wyatt said and Chris looked up at him. "Wyatt, if Barbas is after this who knows how many other demons are after Jake as well" Chris stated and looked at Wyatt, who nodded. "Exactly, that's why I did not want the rest to know, we don't want to worry them with something like this. Not yet, not till the right moment" Wyatt said and Chris slowly nodded.

Prue nodded softly. "I know, it feels so unfair, for someone his age to have to face the world alone, I mean, we had Grams growing up and then each other, Jake had nobody..." said Prue sadly and Paige nodded gently, remembering her own parents death, well, her adoptive ones anyway. "I know what he is going through...."


Jake sighed heavily and looked at his mirror, he felt something strange, like all his fears were rising to the surface. As he stood in the bathroom, the door locked, he wondered if he would ever be good enough for a family, his greatest fear, to never have a family of his own.


Leola and Melinda looked at each other after hearing Chris and Wyatt. "Barburus is back?" whispered Leola in shock and Melinda looked just as shocked.

Phoebe looked at Prue. "Yeah, I know I was not the best little sister but I deep down inside of me knew that you and Piper were always going to be there for me, no matter what." Phoebe said to Prue, she then looked at Paige and went to hug her. Piper and Leo came out the kitchen holding hands. "Whoa, Mr. Grumpy is back" Phoebe said and looked at Leo who smiled at her. Piper looked around. "Where is Jake?" She asked.

Wyatt and Chris were in deep silence when Chris looked at the door. He saw shadows behind it. He orbed to the door so his steps wouldn't be heard and opened it. There he saw Leola and Melinda. "Should've guessed those two would be there" Wyatt said, who moments before was looking at Chris with an awesomed look.

Leola and Melinda stumbled slightly as the door was opened and they opened their mouths and Leola looked at the door. "Well, I think that door is securely fastened...no problems here" she lied lamley and Melinda gave a nervous smile to her brothers.


Prue smiled softly. "Hey Pheebs, you livened up the place, besides, you were a great little sister and you still are" she smiled and joined Phoebe and Paige in the hug, before turning to Piper. "He went for a walk around the house."


Jake looked at his reflection, his heart racing as he slowly looked at his hands, he could feel the fear dripping off his body...he would never have a family....he would be alone....there was no point.

Chris looked at Melinda and Leola. "Come in" He said and made a way for both girls to enter the room. "But keep in mind that what we say in here doesn't leave the room" Chris said and looked at Wyatt, who nodded at both girls.

Piper looked at Prue. "Oh, alright" She said and suddenly placed her hand on her belly that started to ache she then looked at Leo. "Jake" She whispered and Leo hurried upstairs. He got to where Jake was, he approached him. "Jake" He said and saw Jake there.

Phoebe looked at Piper, she then understood why Leo went upstairs. She ran after him, Piper was breathing very rapidly and her hand was on her belly. Phoebe hurried upstairs and got to Leo and Jake.

(Time for some serious angsting x3.)

When Leo would arrive to where Jake was, he would find a horrible site, the teenager was on the floor in the middle of the upstairs hall, a knife in his hands out cold, but was horrible was his wrists, bleeding and cuts all over them, the knife in his hand covered in blood, his blood. Prue's eyes were wide with fear and she ran over to Jake's body and began to heal him, yet it wasn't working.

"Why isn't it working!?" demanded Paige, tears about to fall and her voice shakey.


"Elder magic...doesn't work on self inflicted wounds" whispered a shakey Prue as her eyes were wide with pure fear, total confusion and misery gripping his heart. "Phoebe! Call 991, magic can't do anything but the hospital can" she yelled.


Leola and Melinda were about to walk in, but the mention of 991 sent both girls running out of the room to see the comotion, but the sight of Jake on the floor, his wrists cut was enough to stop Melinda and Leola in their tracks, eyes wide and their hearts frozen at the sight.

Leo looked at Jake and started to freak out. He kneeled next to Prue and watched him try to heal him. He then heard Prue mention 911. "Go, now!!" He yelled to Phoebe. Of course he didn't mean to, he then noticed Melinda and Leola there. "Get them out of here" He yelled also, and Phoebe looked at the girls. "Girls, let's go" She said and looked at them, she had the phone in her hand, paramedics were just coming.

Wyatt and Chris came running to the room when they saw Leola and Melinda storming out. They saw Jake there and Chris looked at Wyatt. "Barbas is so going down" He said and orbed out, he was now really upset, Wyatt made sure no one saw any of them and orbed to tha attic to check the book, he then saw a page that might come in handy and orbed to where Chris was.

Piper was still in the dining room holding her stomach and crying, she was in a lot of pain. The babies are going to dieA voice said over and over in her head. She then pressed her hand tighter to her belly. She was kneeled on the floor and crying really hard, she yelled a couple of times.

Melinda and Leola could barely move, but Paige, trying to fight sobs, guided them downstairs while Prue ripped the edge of her shirt and tightened around the wrists and tried to keep the blood from seeping out, checking Jake's pulse it was weak, very weak, but still there.


Paige was downstairs having guided the now sobbing Melinda who struggled in Leola's grip to go back upstairs, but Phoebe's daughter, crying herself, kept her downstairs. Paige ran into the kitchen and noticed Piper was on the floor and she ran over to her. "Piper, it's okay, this is Barburus, you have to hang on" she yelled as she helped pick her older sister off the floor.



Prue continued to tighten the bandages, swearing as she could feel the pulse weakening, the sound of a nearing ambulance caused her head to snap up and she looked back at Jake, tears following down her face.

Wyatt and Chris were in the top of a building. "Chris, do you think this is a good idea?" Wyatt asked his brother. "I mean, facing Barbas all alone is the same as suicide" Wyatt said and Chris turned to look. Wyatt remebered Jake back at the manor. "Sorry" He added and Chris looked around. Barbas was going to be there, he knew it.

Phoebe ran to see Piper. "Sweetie" She said as Piper was pacing herself back and forth on the floor. Her hands were wrapped tightly around her belly and she was not going to let them go. "No, my babies" Piper said as Phoebe tried to help her up, Piper then moved her hands and made a photo frame behind Phoebe blow up. "Stay away from my babies" She said and placed her hands around her belly again.

Leo was looking at Jake, he was very worried and now concerned. Suddenly he heard the ambulance coming. "They're coming" He said and looked at Prue.

Prue looked at Leo and then at Jake and quickly waved her hand and Jake dissapered in blue orbs. "Let's go" she stated in a shakey tone as she ran downstairs, Jake now lying on the couch closest to the hallway. Prue heard the sound of the photo exploding and looked at Leo. "Stay with him" she said quickly and ran into the kitchen and her eyes widened at Piper. "Piper, you have got to snap out of this, Jake is hurt and he needs his mother, Baby Jake and Baby Melinda are fine, but we need to save Big Jake" she said as she took her hands in Piper's and looked her in the eye. "You can do this Piper, your boy needs you."


Melinda's body trembled, tears in her eyes as she looked at her dying brother, tears rolling down her face as she clung to Leola.

Leo looked at Jake and then at Prue going into the kitchen. He looked at Jake and suddenly paramedics were knocking on the door. He hurried to open and looked at the paramedics who took Jake. He then looked at Melinda who was motionless in front of them. He went to hug her. "It's alright" He whispered and then one of the paramedics asked who was coming with Jake. Leo looked around. "I'll go" he said separating from Melinda and going with the paramedics outside.

Piper looked at her big sister, she then got up and ran outside the kitchen, she passed the living room and Melinda and Leola she ran outside just to catch Leo getting into the ambulance. "Wait!" She yelled. "I wanna go" She said and Leo looked at her. "Only one person can go with us" One of the paramedics said. Leo looked at Piper and got out. "You go" He said and watched as the ambulance drove away with Piper and Jake.

Phoebe watched Piper storm out and then went to the living room, where she saw Melinda and Leola. She then hugged her daughter and saw Leo coming in. "Where is Piper?" She asked now worried that her sister was nowhere to be seen. "She's with Jake" Leo said and went to hug Melinda and gave her a kiss on the head. "It'll all be fine" He whispered to her.

Melinda pulled away, her body shaking. "How will it be okay!? Jake is bleeding to death and we can't even go see him!?" she yelled and she spun around and turned to Prue, a burning look in her eyes, one Piper always held when she was determined. "Prue orb us there, NOW." she stated and Prue wiped away her tears and looked at Melinda. "Melinda, we can't orb there before they arrive, we have to wait a while" she said and Melinda did not take nicley to this answer. "Or you could take me there now or I could start blowing you up into you do!" she yelled. Leola got to her feet and stood in front of Melinda. "Melinda! That is enough" she said in a warning tone. Melinda's eyes softened and fresh tears ran down them.

"I'm sorry Prue...it's just....I don't want to leave him alone" she sobbed and Prue wrapped her arms around her. "I know sweetie...we will wait five minutes and then we will head over" she said softly and looked at Leo.


The paramedics began to hook Jake up to a blood supply in an attempt to get the blood back into his system, Jake's face was now pale, almost white.

Leo looked at Melinda, he understood the feeling she had. He was just trying to calm her. He then looked at Prue, his eyes were all watery so as hers. He then looked at Phoebe who was with Leola, she looked at her daugter's reaction and looked at Melinda then. Leo looked around. "Melinda, I know we all want to be with Jake right now" He said and then looked around. "Where are Wyatt and Chris?" He asked noticing his two oldest sons were nowhere to be seen.

Piper was in the ambulance with Jake, she kept crying and sobbing. They got to the hospital. The paramedics got Jake out to the ER and Piper followed them. "I am sorry, m'am. But you can not come in any further" One of them said and pointed the waiting room to her. She was then handed some forms she had to fill.

Wyatt and Chris were still in the rooftop of a building when they heard steps behind them. "Well, if it is the two Halliwell boys" A voice said behind them, but it was not Barbas as they had expected it was Belthazor. "What?" Wyatt yelled and saw as Belthazor shaped back into Cole. "Where is Barbas?" He asked now more worried about everything. Chris looked at now Cole with raging eyes. "Where is Barbas?" Chris yelled. Cole looked at him. "Maybe with your mother" Cole answered and looked at the boys. They would have never thought of Barbas and Cole working together.

Prue looked at the clock and noticed the time. "Okay, I think it is safe to go" she stated and Leola wiped her tears away and closed her eyes as she clung to Phoebe and she orbed in a pink light. Paige took little Wyatt and little Chris. "I'll go to the nursery and drop them off" she said weakly and orbed away while Prue took Leo's hand and they orbed into the hedges by the hospital.

Once inside, Prue asked for where Jake was being treated but noticed that Piper was at the waiting room and she ran over with Leola and Melinda. "Piper, it's going to be okay" said Prue weakly and Melinda ran over and hugged her mother softly and nodded. "Yeah mom...me and Jake are both in there and I'm fine" she stammered, trying to be positive as Leola just sobbed quietly on Phoebe's shoulder.


Inside the ER were trying to get Jake's heartrate back up, but it just kept dropping lower and lower. "Get the shockers, we're losing him!" the doctor yelled.

Piper looked at Melinda and hugged her back. She then look up to Leo and then at her sisters and niece. She couldn't speak, she felt a nutt in her throat and she looked at everyone with the saddest eyes you could ever imagine. Leo was standing in the waiting room, looking around and walking back and forth. Phoebe was hugging Leola and comforting her, as she wondered what Leo asked before they left the manor. Where were Wyatt and Chris?

Chris looked at Cole and moved his hand, who was sent to the other side of the rooftop. "Got your aunt Prue's power, I see" Cole said and threw a fireball at Chris. Wyatt took the fireball off course and threw it to Cole who dodged it. "Well, it seems you have your mother's attitude" Cole then said and Wyatt started to feel angry. "Wyatt, hold it. That's what he wants." Chris said and looked at Cole. "It is not going to work" Chris said. "Well, Chris it is already working" Cole said and laughed.

Paige walked into the waiting room having orbed the kids to the nursery. She watched the scene, her own eyes red and sore from crying. She slowly walked over to Piper and helped Piper into hugging her. A doctor slowly walked through to the waiting room and looked at Leo, sad eyes of his own. "Are you the parents?" asked the doctor, noticing Piper and Leo's wedding rings.

"Yeah, they are and we're the family...how is he doctor?" asked Prue knowing Piper was in no fit state to talk. The doctors eyes lowered. "We are not sure how much longer we can stabalize him...he lost a lot of blood back then...I'm sorry, but unless he pulls out of it himself, he has no more then an hour before his heart gives in."
