I live in Germany, right at the borders to France and Luxembourg. (I just love Luxembourg City. I`m there every weekend and I love driving through the city, shopping and be part of it. In my opinion it`s the most beautiful city in Europe.)

Thank you Melinda! I visited Acapulco qith my parents 16 years ago! A very nice place, I remeber the beach where I ate for the first time mango with paprika! Oh wow! isn't the world a tiny little place? It never crossed my mind that someone from this forum would actually know about my hometown, let alone visit it. I'm glad you enjoyed Acapulco and if u wanna come back someday, you can count on a local charmed fan to show you the bay area. (click to see a larger version)

Welcome, 5th Halliwell! I totally *love* these pictures of Acapulco you've been posting. ErikaMarie, that sounds like a LOT of fun! Definitely a "wish I was there" moment... Thank you so much! It's my pleasure to share more pics of the place I was born and raised. Cool facts: The Beatles made a song about a beautiful area in Acapulco / John & Jackie Kennedy came here for their honeymoon. I don't want to flood this post with pics that take an eternity to load, so I'm just gonna leave the links below. Enjoy! Bay area's panoramic view, but the city doesn't end there (east side of Acapulco continues to the left of the pic / west side to the right), it's quite large. i.imgur.com/2Pmvuzn.jpg
East side: "Puerto Marquez" (minor semi-circular bay) and Diamante zone in the background i.imgur.com/hInYYwe.jpg
East side: non-denominational "Chapel of Peace" at the very top of the Las Brisas/Guitarrón hill. It offers sweeping views of the bay area and its iconic cross can be seen from many parts of Acapulco. i.imgur.com/9JZG7cM.jpg i.imgur.com/rDUukzW.jpg (inside the chapel)
"St. Lucia" the main bay of Acapulco, kinda heart-shaped <3 (and I love that!) i.imgur.com/wyHnoRc.jpg
Another panoramic view i.imgur.com/xde2Dyk.jpg
That piece of land right under the sun is "La Roqueta" island. It has a zoo and a very quiet little beach. The only way to get there is by boat. i.imgur.com/X8302W2.jpg
Condesa beach - Sometimes I go there and sit on those rocks just to think, or to talk to the sea, free my mind, or write whatever I need to. It's therapeutic! i.imgur.com/UB6uRTO.jpg
"Fort of San Diego" (Acapulco historic museum) - old fortress built by the spanish empire to protect the city from any pirates attacks, since it was an important trading port between the Americas and Asia. i.imgur.com/CeENJpK.jpg i.imgur.com/1XJyNE4.jpg seeing it from above it has the shape of a five point star
West side: worldwide famous "La Quebrada" cliff ...and yep those brave guys are cliff divers, who entertain tourists by jumping off of two ledges on the cliff. i.imgur.com/tUxKqs6.jpg
Stormy weather is amazing here... ok a bit scary too i.imgur.com/OVWlfXm.jpg i.imgur.com/sLUZVHN.jpg
"Casa de la Cultura" (cultural center and art gallery) i.imgur.com/aq2TsxK.jpg
La Isla canal - they have sort of gondolas there in case you want to explore it. i.imgur.com/tS33WSs.jpg

(click to see a larger version) My nan was an Elvis Presley huge fa, she watched all his films, and having two small kids and no help, she went to the movies carrying my mom and my uncle who played quiet in the space in front of the first row My mom grew up with confused memories of Hawaii and Mexico,of the divers who broke out from a high cliff - Fun in Acapulco -of the strong colors of Las Vegas When years ago my parents decided a long travel around Mexico - from Mexican California to Yucatan in 4 weeks -, my mom added Acapulco in the path, she wanted to see the Quebrada and the small chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe, a very beautiful and thrilling place

That's a very interesting story Erika, thanks for sharing. I forgot to add Elvis movie "Fun in Acapulco" to the cool facts note.
Very wise of your parents to make that trip thru my country, but specially your mom for adding my city to the list and going to one place you can't miss when you visit Acapulco. ;D
