Considering that she apparently cried every time the show got renewed, I'd have to agree. She clearly wanted out, but had to stick to her contract. Of course, Rose thought she'd only be there one year, two at most. She had no idea her tenure would last half-a-decade.
Yeah, Wyatt and Chris could easily have picked up the slack and let the sisters go back to being normal human beings.

Unfortunately, it seems like Charmed Sons fans have left Charmed fandom in greater numbers than other Charmed fans. As popular as the spinoff idea was 10 years ago, you won't find many TCS fans left today. Even at this board, pretty much only myself, Tim, Jana (Chrisaholic), and Marlena (StoryGirl83) are left. Where have all the Wyatt and Chris fans gone? I have a couple of theories:
1. They never had any interest in Charmed beyond Wyatt and Chris, so when the spinoff failed to happen, they had little reason to stick around. One look at the show's ratings would tell you that Charmed gained a lot of new viewers in Season 6, and I can assure you that it wasn't because of Phoebe in skimpy outfits or Piper bitching about her life. A lot of people clearly liked Chris and his story and for many, it might have actually been the main draw of the show for them. (Jana, herself, will admit that Chris was the main thing that brought her to Charmed.) Knowing this, it's probably no surprise that the ratings tumbled so far downhill after Chris and his story were dropped and why so many people started pushing for a spinoff in 2004-05. When the chances for a spinoff died, these people had nothing left to hang on to.
2. Supernatural stole them away. How convenient that this other show about brothers fighting evil started airing around the time the TCS campaign started winding down. Sam and Dean may not have been Chris and Wyatt, but for many, Supernatural was a good enough version of what could've been with the Halliwell boys. It was the Charmed Sons spinoff they wanted to see, but with different characters. Many former TCS fans tend to be big Supernatural fans, and for a very good reason.

As I have said, Chris's story is what saved S6. Imagine that season without him, and what do you have. Season Five Mark II. One S5 was quite enough, thank you.
Many former TCS members, me included, are SPN fans. Yeah, this may not have been the show we wanted, but it was close enough. In fact, SPN may have been one of the reasons a TCS show didn't happen. SPN was clearly already in development when the TCS Campaign was at full speed (2005-06). They already had a show about two brothers fighting evil, why would they need another?
