Saw this at another site and truly don't know how to respond, so I decided to throw it at you guys:
I know something similar happened in the Season Two credits when we see Prue wave her hand and the vase goes moving across her desk, but I have no idea why a scene that would make it to the credits would land on the cutting floor.
Anyone have any ideas?

Yeah there were a few scenes in the opening credits that seemed to be cut from actual episodes. Y'know, I could've sworn I actually saw that scene in 2x01 when the episode first aired. After her failure to use her magic on Abraxas previously, she's testing it, just to check that her powers are okay. Something like that. Maybe I imagined it.
There was also a scene in 6x01 that I'm certain aired originally where Phoebe is having one of her many empathy induced fits of violence and tries to choke Paige.

I just checked the transcript of this episode from charmedscripts.tv and I'm pretty sure Shay transcribed it from when it was first aired. Prue uses her power to move a chair to be sure her powers are working, but no mentions of her using her power to make a vase move. So for you, that might be similar to the way some fans are positive that originally there was an extra scene at the end of "All Hell Breaks Loose" when I'm so sure there wasn't because I remember my reaction so well. I don't remember my reaction to anything in "Witch Trial" and it's been too long to say for sure. If it was cut, I could understand why... seeing as Phoebe ends up punching Leo and starting a riot an episode later, we established that Empathy made her an even worse person with or without her trying to kill Paige. Hold on! Isn't the scene from 2x01 actually in the 2x01 episode? - except Prue doesn't move the vase in 2x01 - it' something else and there's a cut of her moving a vase from a previous episode.
Am I going crazy?

It's not from an earlier episode - everyone's pointed out that Prue never wore her hair up like that in S1.

OMG, you're right - that *is* from the unaired pilot! And I always thought it was from the original. It's why at the end of my "Forever Charmed" rewrite I have Chris' youngest daughter Prue, dressed in a red dress, be the one who uses her magic to close the door. |

Having been re-watching S1 for our board rewatches. This is from TYFNM clearly. Clothes match. Just wonder where in the episode it occured. But Phoebe had that top when she visited Victor in his apartment. A re-re-watch let's us all keep this on our minds. I'll be keeping my eyes out on the re-re-watch for when this may have happened. I keep thinking when it happened, could it just be an alternate shot to an already seen scene? After watching the dailies, they do multiple takes with different angles. Yup. I would love to see the original scripts. That would be great to see what was cut. |

I remember a scene from the original script as a spoiler that Prue was practicing her power in 2.01. It was definitely cut in the episode. What's funny was that there was no other "Prue TK" clip to use that was used in the actual episode. It was indeed part of the script.
On that note, Phoebe's premonition clip in the credits was never an actual premonition in the show. I'm referring to the energy ball attack from from 1.22 used after Season 1.

I'd love to have read those original scripts. So you have read the original script for 'Witch Trial' ryang? or was it just something you read?
Yeah, it could have been great if they did in the opening credits do a better job showcasing their powers. Also, Prue using her powers to close the manor door, was from the unaired pilot. Yet they used the real pilot's end scene for the first two episodes of S1, before changing it in episode 3. I'd think in S2, they'd have used Prue closing the manor door in 'Deja Vu' and in S3 Prue closing the manor door from 'Be Careful What You Witch For'. And Prue's S3 shot was from S2.
LOL, the fan-made credits on Youtube, really did a better job with the shots and clips than the show did.
