Cyma, I like your idea of the elders inhabiting another realm and not having anything to do with the mortal world or with witches. If they were just some other magical species with no control over anyone but themselves, I'd like them and whitelighters a lot more.
The whole concept of whitelighters and especially elders as we saw in the show felt very patriarchal and domineering. For better or worse, the sisters grew up without a father, and now that they're witches, it feels like they've got hundreds of fathers peering over their shoulders constantly, deciding on their own what's best for them, playing a God-like figure in their lives.
I'd still remove whitelighters and elders from the show completely if I could, but if that couldn't happen, just making them separate from witches and the world the sisters live in would be enough.

Thanks. And same here. There have been instances where the Elders do feel separate from witches and the mortal world. Besides being personally threatened by Eames, Titans and Avatars, Leo referred to Elders as being like Kings. It did appear like they were indeed Kings and Queens of the realm of magical creatures and Cupids because of how they were being worshipped and protected by fairies, elves, leprechauns and other creatures when Titans attacked. Elders also knew or had premonition of their own destruction at the hands of Titans yet Phoebe doesn't see this dire future. Paige only one who feels it through nightmares. But most out of place was the prophecy about Twice-Blessed child which just came out of nowhere. But if the Elders have their own world, own enemies then it would make sense they have their own prophecies and apocalypse as well. And Phoebe not being a part of their world wouldn't be aware of any of this knowledge. It would be interesting if Paige was actually one of the royals of the Elder realm because Sam was. But a faction of Elders(possibly related to Paige) were against him even threatened by possibility of Paige half witch now with Power if Three taking the throne someday. Or after Elder massacre by Titans. Richard's family feud plot would've been a hundred times more interesting if it was actually Paige's surviving biological families who were in conflict with each other. Honestly it makes more sense for Paige to be this Twice Blessed child Gideon is threatened by seeing how Wyatt contradicts a million things previously established by the show. It would've given Paige's character a lot of much needed development which got stolen with all the focus on baby Wyatt, who as a character, was as interesting as a handbag which got constantly stolen and attacked by demons.

Other: Cole NEVER resurrects, after they vanquished him, in S4. He should've stayed dead and never carried into S5. That's my biggest issue. Otherwise, I'm pretty content with how the show went except for that one thing.

Repeating part of what I said in another thread, as it fits here.
Whitelighters are never introduced was my vote. Others I'd vote, but this is #1.
I'll still wonder how the series would be like if Leo stayed in S1 and never came back and Andy didn't die. We'd continue the wonderful balance between the non-magical world with Andy and Darryl and the sisters. The sisters would again be working to solve problems on their own, with no easy out with Leo's powers. The more I think about it, the more I really do think Leo and whitelighters were the worst introductions on the show, and the show might be so much better and even Piper's character in the long-run without them.
