Actually there is a Greek Goddess of War and her name is Enyo. In Greek Mytho she is Ares lover and also sister since she was the daughter of Zeus and Hera You're right, though Enyo is more the Goddess of the close and bloody combat, emphasis on close!! Looked after in Wikipedia but in the show, I guess, there it was more in the meaning of Ares. Who else as the God of War knows all battle strategies? This is the main point. Athena isn't the goddess of war, but she is a warrior goddess Being the goddess of the Reason, thereforet of the science and the good governance, she is opposed to Ares, who symbolise the brutal and violent war Athena, as warrior goddess, took part in numerous battles, she sided with her father in the war against the Titans, where she stand out for bravery One of her names is Athena Promocos, because she fights in the front rows: Athena was primarily the invincible warrior goddess , but her war was conducted with order and prudence, she isn't as the ruthless, vicious and bloody Ares. Her strength and hercourage were tempered by a sense of justice, wisdom, benevolence and loyalty It was right to turn Paige in Athena, it's a pity she was the more wrong Athena I've ever seen

Okay, I admit that with Athena it's a double edged sword. I, for one, only know her as the Goddess of Wisdom and as namesake for the city of Athens. Adding to this, I know that she and Ares are siblings in the Greek myths. So it's no wonder when their characterics are switched or tied to both Gods.

Aphrodite also is Zeus's daughter and she isn't exactly the goddess of love
She is the goddess who protects marital love and passion - not erotic love - the pure and perfect love Goddess of beauty and in this sense Protectress of all arts and all it's beautiful, she is a a deity very complex but that in any case symbolizes always the power of love in its various expressions in order of preserving life. As Aphrodite Areia -warrior she was represented armed and associated with the cult of Ares
The writers chose the right goddesses to fight the Titans but they but they were wrong in the description
