Hey y'all! I've recently become active again and have seen many new (or maybe not new) and returning posters! I thought we could do a little introduction thread on here, since we cannot post on the intro thread. I feel like I've been here forever, haha! I came up with silly little icebreaker questions, but feel free to add anything else if you want to! Also, if you're not comfortable with a question, feel free to not answer it! Favorite Charmed character and why:
Definitely Phoebe! I am mainly talking Phoebe seasons 1-4 + 7. I loved how into being a witch she was in the beginning few seasons. I also find her to be the funniest sister throughout the series, and find myself laughing at her antics to this day. I like Phoebe's fun flirtyness, but only when it is paired with that naive vulnerability we saw in some of these seasons. There was also a lot of annoying naive-ness. Favorite Season:

My other favorite shows are Buffy (I reference Buffy a lot, but try to omit any spoilers), and Roswell. I watch a lot of TV but those are the only ones I'd say reach favorite status (a long with Charmed). I am currently watching: -RuPaul's Drag Race -Wentworth -The Walking Dead -Fear The Walking Dead -Survivor Everthing else: I am a queer person who is at the end of my studies to be a social worker. I feel as if this is important to add! |

Favorite Charmed character and why:
Of the four leads - Piper - through and through! - Also my favourite actress in the series
Of the support: Leo. Although favourite supporting actor/actress is Julian McMahon
Favorite Season:
Hard one but I am a massive fan of Season 4 in terms of the drama.
But I think the best is Season 2.
Favorite Episode:
Charmed Again Part 1 - just because of the rawness of the emotion, Patty, Victor and Penny, and the feeling of Prue being present.
But I think the best is: ohhhh, what a hard one - That 70's Ep vs. All Hell Breaks Loose vs Deja Vu.
Other shows you watch: I love shows with Female Leads like Charmed, Desperate Housewives, Mom. Friends, Niptuck, TBBThoery, Will and Grace, Devious Maids. Can't say that I watch much TV nowadays.
Anything else you want to tell us!
Charmed Season 1 - 4 will always hold a special place in my heart. It was such an incredible show that was not given the time it needed from it's network and when it came down to Charmed's horidness (IMO) from Season 5 onward - if I could place the blame on what went wrong - it was definitely leadership. Whether that was the WB, Aaron Spelling or Brad Kern I don't know. I love you Charmed!

I love this like a charmed introduction and questionaire.
I usee to be apart of a forum that had a pretty decent one. I might find it if can and adjust to suite charmed.
Ill have to think about my answers to this one.

B, although I've only seen Season 8 once and plan on never watching it again.

D. I have the first three seasons on DVD and my favorite episodes from the other seasons (especially TNT's marathons) on VHS which I had transferred to DVD. I admit I don't watch them as much as I used to, but every month or so, I'll sit down and have a marathon, especially a Sheryl J. Anderson marathon, since I love the way she wrote the sisters.
4. How long have you been in the online fandom?
I first discovered the ezBoard version of thecharmedones.com (which featured a message board, The Charmed Cafe) - my first Charmed online site - during Season 5.
5. How do you feel about the finale and the way the show ended? (a) loved it, (b) liked it, (c) had mixed feelings, (d) disliked it, (e) hated it?
E. I love all of the rewrites that are around more, especially PiperCharmedPhreak's, Fourever Charmed's and GZV969's and, of course, my own, even if it's not my own favorite of my fanfics.

I both read and write them. I particularly love alternate-universe ones. My favorite fanfics are Kalvana's "Future Consequences" and Scififantasychic's "The Witch and The Assassin", both which show how Chris should've been written. My favorite of my own fics is "The Warren Curse", co-written with Aurora Nightstar, and "My Sister's Dying", the story I dedicated to my mom.
My favorite virtual series is LexiCharmed’s “Progeny: Angels and Demons” and I ADORE P3Nathan’s “Charmed; The Final Season” so far. I might have loved “Charmed: Reality Reset” if the next generation didn’t stay so long and if it had ever been finished. As is I like it. I also loved Twin_Swords’ “Destined: The Charmed Sons” and wish it had been finished.

I found out about thecharmedones.com through thewb.com and that led me to their message board, the Charmed Café.

A – for me, that’s Charmed. The others are just an alternate-universe spin-off. Charmed is one of my all-time favorite shows. The alternate-universe spin-off doesn't even make the Top 1000. That has very little to do with Prue vs Paige who was my favorite of the second set, but much more to do with the change of writers and the change of the Charmed Ones from sisters who happened to be witches who I admired to demon-slayers who happen to live in the same house who I hated, the reason I believe it's an alternate-universe spin-off.

Favorite Charmed character and why: Paige! I love that she is so independent and doesn’t rely on her sisters for everything, I also like that she has her own path and isn’t afraid to venture into it. I also love her style, her character growth from seasons 4-5 and 8, also her relationship with Henry seems the most natural imo.
Favorite Season: 3 or 4

Other shows you watch: Tons! Buffy, Grey’s Anatomy, Supernatural, I’m also a big fan of superheroes so I watch things like The Flash and Supergirl as well. Older shows I love are Fringe, Doctor Who and Desperate Housewives.

I’m a premises staff member at a school, it was my first job, and I hate it, but it pays well and the benefits are good, I was looking for another job when unfortunately I got diagnosed with a heart condition, I knew I wouldn’t find another job until I had gotten it fixed which still hasn’t happened yet.

17. How did you hear about the Charmed cafe? I just typed in “Charmed forum” one day and up it popped on the google search.

Favorite Charmed character and why:
Seasons 1-3; I liked Prue during her Shannen's time on Charmed. Looking back, I think she was the most serious about her being witch(not wanting she and her sisters to mess up and use their powers in Season 1, becoming a protective older sister and determined demon killer by Season 3) and I liked Phoebe in Season 4 and 5, I equally liked them all in Season 6, and as for Season 7 and 8 I have to think about that one now...but yeah it jumped all over the place.

Favorite Charmed character and why:
I have a few:
- Phoebe (Seasons 1-2): I loved how she was a free spirit who loved magic and being a witch, yet also embraced being a Charmed One and loved helping innocents. She genuinely wanted to better herself and prove that she wasn't just a "screw-up" baby sister.
- Prue (Seasons 2-3): Her time on the show might've been cut short, but she probably had the strongest character development out of any of the sisters. I loved seeing her open up and start embracing her Charmed duties more after Andy's death. She was the strong, compassionate leader the show badly needed later on.
- Paige (Seasons 4 and 8): Even at her ditziest, she continued to be the sister who cared about magic and innocents all the way to the end. However, she was best in Season 4 when she was a smart aspiring social worker and to a lesser extent, Season 8 when she was with Henry.
Other Non-Charmed One Characters I Like:
- Rex & Hannah
- Cole (before "Black as Cole" and in "Seven Year Witch")
- The Seer
- Chris
- Kira
- Drake
- Zankou
- Henry
Favorite Couples:
- Prue/Cole
- Paige/Henry

Outside of Paige/Henry, I don't really like many of the "established" couples on this show. I think Charmed had a tendency to ruin characters with romantic storylines, IMO.
Favorite Season:
Seasons 1 and 2
While many prefer the story arcs and heavier drama of Seasons 3 and 4, I think it was the first two seasons that portrayed the sisters the best, which to me, was always the main draw of the show. Plus, I think this show was actually at its strongest when it did "Monster of the Week" vs long story arcs (which often botched continuity and ignored previously-established mythology).

Yes, I have every season on DVD. I usually have a bit of a marathon every year or so, so probably (D) A few times a year.

2 years here, but on and off for 10 years elsewhere.

(C) Had mixed feelings. It was ok, a bit fanservicey but sweet in bits. Too Piper-centric though and Season 8 as a whole was poor.

I do write detailed episode guides, reworking how I wish the show's episodes had gone, adapting them to my story-arcs. Don't know if that counts as fanfic.

I grew up on Sabrina and watched Bewitched sometimes. I liked The Worst Witch when I was very young. More recently, I've enjoyed The Secret Circle and AHS: Coven.
I loved witch movies as well, like The Witches, Practical Magic, Hocus Pocus and The Craft.
12. What are your other favourite shows, if any?
Friends and Charmed were always my top obsessions, but also:
- Will & Grace
- Glee (before it got awful)
- Life on Mars (UK version) and its spin-off Ashes to Ashes
- EastEnders and Coronation Street (British soap operas)

I've been a lurker on here, but mostly because my granddaughter used to post on here a long time ago. She has since lost interest in the online community as she focuses on her studies. 18. The Early Seasons definitely. I'm not a fan of when the show started having my favourite witches baring their clothes more. I also am not interested in the attention on these young witches Chris and Billie. I want the family focus, and the only reason I kept watching was because I so wanted my beloved Phoebe to get the child she so badly wanted, and for Piper to be happy. But I haven't rewatched the later seasons in a very long time. I prefer the early days when it was just the sisters and the innocents. I know my granddaughter loves Cole/Phoebe and the fourth season. I cant say I appreciate the lessons we were taught during those later seasons. Call me old fashioned but I'm much more a fan of how they handled Andy and Prue's relationship and Paige and Henry's. I'm disgraced by how poorly they wrote Piper/Leo's relationship. Sometimes good things are better off left short-term, and P3H20 should of been Leo's final run on the series. That story had the best closure here. Also I am not a fan of the actor who plays Leo. He is the most creepiest man I've ever meet when I attended a Charmed event a couple of years ago. He is always acting like a young college man and making crude remarks on his panels. A complete opposite of Leo. Shannen Doherty is a professional lady, and I was very pleased my impression on her was so high when I got my photo taken. She was so friendly and I loved that she made a sweet comment to me. Holly was also friendly, but Shannen I felt just had more energy and felt like she wanted to be at this event.

Other shows you watch: Lots and lots of classic TV (I Love Lucy, Three's Company, All in the Family, etc.) and cartoons! I love my X-Men the Animated Series. Other ones: Sex and the City, Dexter, and Queer as Folk, Beverly Hills 90210, and Homicide Hunter: Joe Kenda.
Music: I love anything rock. I usually listen to 80's or 90's music. Depeche Mode, The Smiths, The Charlatans, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and Curve are always on rotation for me.
Gosh, what else can I say? I miss the 90's like crazy. Shows were definitely more *mystical* and imaginative, and kind of cheesy in a good way. It always brings a smile to my face to enjoy those simple pleasures. After all, your taste becomes a little more discerning when you only have five channels to flick through, LOL.
I'm also an avid gamer. My favorite title is Shenmue.
