Hey, I'm Maite and I've just signed up and excited to jump straight in. I'm in my (early-ish, I guess) 20s and I first watched charmed when I was around 12. I began watching it because of re-runs on TV, so there's not an exact time as for the first couple of months it was only once in a while (so I think I might've actually been 11 when I first began?).
As a result of this, I watched Charmed in a really weird and mixed order (it took me a while to figure out Paige was a half sister! And when they first mentioned it, I thought it was on the father's side) but all in all I picked up the plot fairly quickly. So I watched seasons 4-7 first (and not in a linear order), then 1-3 (which was luckily done in a much more linear order), and finally 8.
Paige is my favourite character, so I'll be probably contributing a lot of opinions surrounding her the most, although all the sisters have a fond spot in my heart. Piper is my favourite character of the first three seasons, although sometimes it's Phoebe because I love how fun she is-- which was a surprise to me when I finally was able to watch 1-3, because I really couldn't stand her when I watched 4-7. I have a much more complicated relationship with my love of Prue, but I do love her.
I don't really have a favourite episode, on the account I tend to have a problem with each episode, so I just have a collection of my favourite scenes. I think this is pretty common due to the show having reruns as long as I can remember as well as the international nature of the show and it appearing on different networks throughout time and space. I too liked Paige as a character and her with Henry.
My favourite other pairs were Prue/Andy Phoebe/Drake and Piper/Leo season 1 then.
I watched Charmed from season 2's 'Morality Bites' when that first aired in the UK. I was 19 nearly 20 then but still love the show now even being 40.

Everyone is so lovely and friendly on here! If I had my way, the Elders would have brought back Drake or Kyra for Phoebe as her true love in season eight. If they had of brought back Kyra, it would have been cool if Coop could have also been involved. Maybe Coop was a gay cupid and he was sent to Phoebe to help her discover and become comfortable with her feelings towards Kyra, a woman. Not that I think Phoebe would reject being interested in a woman, but I think it's difficult for anyone who has identified as straight (which as far as we know, Phoebe did) to be open and honest about their attraction to someone who isn't who they have normally dated. I am hard on Coop a lot but I don't dislike him. I just felt like I didn't know him or their relationship. I felt like we knew Drake and Kyra much more when they appeared in less episodes than Coop. I don't think they made very good use of Coop and he basically had no storyline. |

I will add as well as Paige and Henry as a couple I didn't mind Paige and Glenn either although they were childhood friends and not actually in a relationship then though 'A Paige From The Past' did give me friends with benefits vibes concerning them obviously.

I'm just not really interested in seeing a storyline of someone coming to terms with their sexuality-- everything seems to do that when there's a queer character, and I'm tired of it. I do love Coop, in my mind he's one of the highlights of season eight (and I really love his actor) but I agree, they didn't really make good use of him, he basically had no point and was just added in to give Phoebe her happily ever after (and provide a way for Piper to travel back in time). |

Hi Charmed Cafe, Longtime fan, recently gotten back into the show, due to the release of the series on Blu-Ray. Going to share a bit about me doing one of the questionnaires. 1. How long have you been a Charmed fan?
Catching the second half of the first episode on television, I missed the first half, because of technical problems with my television, but I got most of the plot. But I loved the pilot episode of Charmed. However on Wednesday nights, I got busy from time to time, and missed quite a number of episodes, but I managed to finally see the few I missed. I was happy it moved to a new day starting in Season 2. 2. Have you seen (a) every episode more than once, (b) every episode at least once, (c) most of the episodes, (d) fewer than half of the episodes?

Based on your answers I think you will fit in well here - I find most love the early seasons best. Thanks for the welcome Forbuss! Nice to see another Phoebe fan here, and someone in my age range. Thanks, I think so too, although I know most fans don't like the later seasons, I hope I can offer something to point out the rare moments that some might miss for the characters, especially Phoebe. I'm not blind to the parts of her character that most fans hate, but I try to think of the good moments, and not let the bad ruin my enjoyment of the episodes. |
