I think because Drake and Phoebe had good chemistry together and he made her care about innocents again as shown in 'Show Ghouls' whilst bringing out Phoebe's fun loving side we saw seasons 1 and 2 then that's why quite a few members here liked those two as a pairing obviously.

Hello  I'm finally posting. I'm excited to join you all in discussing Charmed. I love the atmosphere and I'd love to get to know you all a bit more. I've filled out the questionnaire someone posted earlier, and I'm excited to meet you 1. How long have you been a Charmed fan? I've known about this show my whole life, but only sat down and watched it seriously in the past 2 years. 2. Have you seen (a) every episode more than once, (b) every episode at least once, (c) most of the episodes, (d) fewer than half of the episodes? B 3. Do you still watch Charmed (on TV, online, video or DVD)? If yes, do you watch (a) every day, (b) once or twice a week, (c) a few times a month, (d) a few times a year? C, but that's just because I'm super busy. I hope to get back into a full rewatch soon. 4. How long have you been in the online fandom? Perhaps under a year. I'm mostly on Reddit, but I like the atmosphere here too! 5. How do you feel about the finale and the way the show ended? (a) loved it, (b) liked it, (c) had mixed feelings, (d) disliked it, (e) hated it? B - I liked the finale because the actors liked it. It was important to me that Holly, Alyssa, Brian, and the others approved of it. I'd probably change a few things, but it definitely wasn't the worst TV show finale I've seen. 6. Rank the seasons from most to least favourite. 4, 2, 3, 1, 5, 6, 7, 8 7. Your five favourite and five least favourite episodes? 5 favourites: Charmed Again (1), That '70s Episode, P3H2O, Long Live the Queen, and Pre-Witched. 5 least favourites: honestly, I don't have specifics, but I didn't like many of the episodes that lacked in the sisterly/home moments. I love their banter and stuff, so episodes that didn't have that I felt weirdly about. 8. Your favourite characters (as many as you wish). I love all of them so much, but I find myself constantly relating to Piper. I have a very soft spot in my heart for her. I love Paige, too. I think she added such a lovely spark to the show. I absolutely adore Prue and Phoebe though! 9. Which romantic pairings do you like? (pick as many as you like) I love Piper and Leo, I said it! I do like all of them to some extent, though I don't like how rushed Phoebe/Coop was at the end. 10. Do you read and/or write fanfiction? Any particular type? Do you follow any of the virtual seasons? I used to read other fanfiction, but not Charmed. I'm currently just writing little drabbles of scenes I wish had happened, or delving deeper into behind the scenes. For instance, I'm writing a whole bit about Piper's grief with Grams. It's going well and I love writing complex characters like that. 11. Are you a fan of any other witch themed shows? Not at the moment! 12. What are your other favourite shows, if any? I'm currently watching Hell's Kitchen, so I'll put that hahaha. But shows I enjoyed previously are House, Criminal Minds (I stopped watching after S10), Greys Anatomy (until S11), Outlander, The Crown, and This is Us. 13. Are you male or female? Female 14. Favorite Season: Season 1 (I think) though I did enjoy Phoebe/Cole in later seasons, I tend to like darker seasons / the darker episodes, more witchy and cool to me personally
Favorite Episode: Too many

1. How long have you been a Charmed fan?I watched the show back in 2003, with the fifth season, and saw episodes until about season 7, when I stopped. I can't remember if the show was taken off in the Netherlands or not.
I re-discovered it, through the reboot, which I have watched. So I checked out Charmed (Classic) from Itunes (that is how they name it, I guess to tell it apart from the reboot which is just called Charmed) and downloaded an episode of season 5 which was recommended to me as the best, they insisted I start from season 4,and skip the first three.
I started watching season 4, and got to season 5 (and the episodes I kinda remember seeing). Then I decided to come here, as it was the second biggest Charmed community online next to the Reddit Charmed site. And now, I'm going to start from the start and finally see the episodes I've never seen before.
2. Have you seen (a) every episode more than once, (b) every episode at least once, (c) most of the episodes, (d) fewer than half of the episodes?(d) is me, since I haven't seen season 1-3 at all. 3. Online. But, I've just ordered the Blu Ray sets of Charmed, and they are coming to me soon. 4. How long have you been in the online fandom?Not long, maybe since last year. I never was in the online Charmed fandom when it aired. But, online fandoms in general, yes I have been part of plenty non-Charmed.

The Source (for someone who is so powerful he came off as a whimp, I'm dying to know what role he plays in season 1-3, since it seems like he was a big bad for the run and got vanquished in season 4)

First, that is so cool that they call our Charmed "Classic Charmed" - that's what we've been calling it since the reboot started. Do you like the reboot? That's interesting that the Reddit Charmed site is bigger. I've never visited that one, so I'll have to give it a look. But it's fun to know that we're the second-biggest. I wonder when the Reddit site was started. A number of us joined this one when it took the place of a different one that I joined during the original airing of S5. Which is why I'm SO excited to see what you think of them, and also S7-8. I recommend some of S7 but none of S8 - but then I'd never recommend S4-5 (your friend must be a Cole-fan - I'm not.). If you enjoyed S4-5 (and a lot of fans LOVE S4), take my recommendations with a grain of salt! I'm part of a group (we call ourselves Team Charmed Cafe) who have been re-watching Charmed together once a week on our DVDs since October 2018 to celebrate Classic Charmed's 20th anniversary - we're now on S3. That's cool. Classic Charmed is the only online fandom I've been part of. I joined when S5 was first airing. Most of us here think it is, but a lot of fans loved it. I think it's the perfect ending for "The Perils of Poor, Poor Pitiful Piper" (one of my names for S4-8 - the others are "PhoeME and Her Fantasy Men" and "Two Witches Plus One Living Whitelighter Equals The Power of Three?"), but not "Classic Charmed". You'll have to come back and do that after you get a chance to watch all of them. Mine is 1=2>>3=7>>>5=8>>4>>>>6 which reflects me not liking PhoeME, Cole, or Chris. Whoops! We're definitely different so again you may want to take my recommendations with a grain of salt. Most of my favorites are in S1-2 and most of my least-favorites are in S4-8. For S4 & 5, my 5 favorites (in airing order) are: 1. A Knight to Remember 2. A Paige From the Past 3. The Eyes Have It 4. Cat House 5. Sense And Sense-Ability I won't do my least-favorites - too hard to do since there's too many I don't like, especially the entire PhoeME/Cole storyline, my least-favorite Classic Charmed storyline, which I assume you must like since Phoebe is your favorite. But that's no big deal here. We all agree that our opinions can be different and we can still be friends, since opinions aren't facts. I think most of my opinions are quite a bit different from most fans because I'm older than most fans - I'm 67 - I was 45 when I first stared watching Charmed and felt like Patty watching my daughters. WOW! We actually agree with a lot of these! Leo WAS my original favorite male character, until the end of S5 - I'll always wish Brian Krause had never signed his second contract, although now I wish he was only part of S1 as he originally was supposed to. I also hate the way Piper treats him - I truly don't think she ever really loved him as a whitelighter. See if you agree when you first meet him...I also love a number of characters in S1-2 and LOVE TO HATE a number of characters in them.[/div] That's not a shock to me at all. I don't like any of the actual couples on Classic Charmed except for the one Paige finds in S8. I prefer Piper with someone she meets in S1 (definitely not Leo), Prue with someone she meets in S2 (obviously not Andy) and Phoebe with someone she meets in S7 (definitely not Cole!). (trying not to spoil!) We've got a lot of fanfics in our Library. Once you're done watching/re-watching, I hope you decide to give some of them a try. Have never watched either. All of my favorite witch-themed shows were in the 60s and 70s, especially "Dark Shadows" and "Bewitched". What do you like about the reboot, which I call the rip-off - I SO wish they'd named it something besides "Charmed"! Never watched Xena or Supernatural or the original Walker, but absolutely LOVE true crime shows - "Forensic Files" is my favorite, followed by "48 Hours" and a bunch of shows on the Investigative Discovery Cable Channel. I haven't been interested in any new broadcast-channel show (except sports...) or ones online since Classic Charmed. And I'm a straight never-married never-had-kids female. Like I told you before I'm over 55 - I'm 67. So very sorry to hear that, but ultra-cool that you're a dad! I work in the office of a wholesale florist. It's counted in Minnesota as essential, so I've been able to work through the pandemic, although I had my hours cut from 40 to 30 a week. But that's SO much better than nothing! The United States of America - to be precise, Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was originally the message board for a site called "The Charmed Ones", which was mention on TheWB.com during the original airing of S5, which is when I joined. The message board was an ezBoard site. When they closed, this one became the message board and when "The Charmed Ones" closed, it became its own site. I'm VERY curious to see what you'll think when you're done watching/re-watching. Mine is a) but only S1 & S2. |
