Hello Charmed fans. I’m new here. I’ve been hesitant to post here for a while. But seeing your thread on different generations of fans, I noticed you have quite a number of Baby Boomers and one Silent Generation member.
My Generation according to this list is Silent Generation, even though I consider myself just an older Baby Boomer. I feel like I’m on the border of both, but since I was just about one year old when WWII ended, I don’t have memories of the generation I consider the Silent Generation, so I’m not old enough to remember what it was like to live through a world war. So that’s why I consider myself an older baby boomer. Part of why I consider the end of the Silent Generation 1945, and the start of the Baby Boomers as 1946 Post WWII, but not to worry, that’s just me. 1. How long have you been a Charmed fan?My Charmed journey started in 1999, we’ll actually it started in 1998 technically. I saw a preview for the show in the WB 1998 upfronts, which promoted a new series starring Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs and Lori Rom. I was curious about it, and considered giving it a go if I saw more information about it. I remember learning they wanted to originally call the series not Charmed but House of Sisters, I'm certain I remember the show was originally going to be called that but changed to Charmed. I saw that on my ezboard, but I might be confusing it with another pilot at the time. (LOL, it's very likely)
At my first ezboard community (later became Yuku in 2005 or 2006 until 2018 when it closed. Yuku is the latest version of ezboard. So I think Yuku and Proboards might be the only message boards still around as far as I know. I'm likely forgetting more) which I joined in April 1997 or was it June 1997 (LOL, I forgot. I just remember it was close to the end of the 1997 television season). I followed the news there, and heard about the recasting of Phoebe. I was more interested in watching now when I heard Alyssa Milano who I loved on Who’s the Boss was recasted to play Phoebe. I’d never seen Shannen or Holly in anything, so they were both new to me. But because of my nightshift job as a paramedic, I tended to have lots of shifts Wednesday night, and couldn’t see the show. So I followed what people thought about it at the ezboard. But I actually did see one while on the job, obviously I didn’t really watch it, but it sticks out in my mind, because I heard the television at the hospital, playing ‘The Wendigo’ and it was the scene where Prue and Phoebe reunited a mother and daughter, and It made me hope, I’ll get to see it one time, because from hearing the scene, I loved it. When I finally saw this one in full, I smiled as my memory instantly remembered it being on the job. My first episode was That 70s Episode. I finally wasn’t working Wednesday night, and got to sit down and watch an episode. Phoebe instantly became my favorite, I loved Prue, Piper, Grams and Patty too. But this one was the perfect episode as my first episode introduction into Charmed. I was so lucky that the WB delayed the broadcast of When Bad Warlocks Go Good, due to the Columbine High School Tragedy to pay respect to those who died. and was rescheduled a week later, when I was not working nightshift, so I was able to see the episode following my first. I didn’t work nightshift for the next month, and got to see the rest of S1 in full. It wouldn’t be until 2005, when I got the first season on DVD, that I finally got to see the full first season in full. Bad news, I was back to working nightshifts on Wednesday nights, so I was upset that I wouldn’t get to see Charmed. I was so happy it got moved to Thursday nights, so I was able to see the show moving forward and continued to watch it weekly. It was during S3, that the threat of a writers strike happened. So after all these years, I still am dying to read and learn just what scripts for S4 they had in mind thinking of the potential writers strike ahead of time to plan S4. I always find it so sneaky of Kern to fire Shannen a day after the strike was postponed to 2008. That had the writers strike happened, Kern couldn’t fire Shannen, as he’d have to risk either having the show on hold until said strike ended, as they’d have no scripts ready to rework S4 without her. So it was just really interesting to wonder how differently Charmed would be if the writers strike happened. Would we end up having Prue in S4 after all with the scripts written in advance before the strike happened allowing them to film until they ran out of scripts, or would Kern still fire Shannen during a writers strike and force the show to be MIA until the strike ended, while other shows still filmed with the scripts they wrote in advance. Now I have to be honest, and this is a very unpopular opinion (I know because most seem to love season 6). But season 6 was the season where I quit watching Charmed and made Hyde School Reunion my final episode. I didn’t even recognize the sisters I grew to love anymore, and I couldn’t stomach the effort to keep watching and hoping they’d change. So I kept following through my ezboard what fans thought of it, glad I didn’t come back. It was because of the positive comments, that I gave in, and decided to check in with my sisters. And my first episode to return to the series was Carpe Demon, which introduced Drake and I saw some of the Phoebe I used to love resurface, and she was back again in Show Ghouls. LOL, but I should have known better, because she went right back to the one I grew to hate once Drake left. I did stick around until the end of S7. I went into it thinking it was the final episode, as I heard rumors. It was around the time, I was in the process of moving house. So I stayed offline for months. So I left watching S7, thinking that was the final episode of Charmed. But I found out, that wasn’t the case months later, when I returned to my forum (I think it was Yuku at this point after it has been confirmed that all ezboard communities would be moving to Yuku.). This disappointed me, because I was somewhat satisfied with the ending, with going into S7’s finale thinking this was the end. I checked in and watched S8’s Mr and Mrs Witch, and instantly wished I continued to think S7 was the end and lived in that bubble. I couldn’t stand the sisters again, and then I decided to not continue the series for the second time, like I did once before. After quitting watching again, I came back to watch the series finale out of interest. Again, I didn’t love it, wishing it ended after 7. I just didn’t like the flash forwards at all, and I rolled my eyes at Piper and Leo. Them as a couple was not love to me at all. Leo embarrasses me that he lets Piper treat him like a doormat, and she uses him as her personal assistant. I was screaming at my television that they grew old together, and don’t buy for a second it worked out. I also don’t count S8’s flashforwards as canon but a fantasy of Piper’s perfect reality. I’d prefer to think that the show ended after S7, as I felt at the time watching it. 2. Have you seen (a) every episode more than once, (b) every episode at least once, (c) most of the episodes, (d) fewer than half of the episodes?C. I haven’t seen S6 or S8 in full. See above for my backstory on being a fan. After all these years, I have never seen S6 or S8 in full. S6 only up to Hyde School Reunion and S8 (only Mr. and Mrs Witch and Forever Charmed). I only own S1-5 and S7 on DVD. My niece (whose I mentioned in the shoutbox has the middle name is Esmeralda based on the witch) gave me a copy of the S8 extras without the episodes. God Bless her. 3. Do you still watch Charmed (on TV, online, video or DVD)? If yes, do you watch (a) every day, (b) once or twice a week, (c) a few times a month, (d) a few times a year?I watch it on DVD or Blu Ray (The Blu Ray was given to me by someone who had two copies of S1) 4. How long have you been in the online fandom?Do you mean Charmed or just in general. If in general, I’ve been part of the online fandom community since the 90s with non-Charmed shows, so I remember the REALLY old message board formats in 1996. As for Charmed, I’ve been part of the fandom since 1999, so around the second season. I guess you can say 1998 since I was following what others said about it, but I'll say 1999 when I first watched it myself. 5. How do you feel about the finale and the way the show ended? (a) loved it, (b) liked it, (c) had mixed feelings, (d) disliked it, (e) hated it?Toss up between C or D. 6. Rank the seasons from most to least favourite.Season 1 >> Season 2 >> Season 3 >> Season 7 >> Season 5 >> Season 4 Won’t include 6 or 8. As those seasons were what got me to quit the show, and haven’t seen them in full. 7. Your five favourite and five least favourite episodes?five favourite1. That 70s Episode 2. Deja Vu All Over Again 3. Chick Flick 4. All Halliwells Eve 5. Sense and Sense Ablity five least favourite episodes?1. Marry Go Round 2. Prince Charmed 3. Hyde School Reunion (got me to quit Charmed the first time) 4. Valhalley of the Dolls 5. Mr and Mrs Witch 8. Your favourite characters (as many as you wish). The Charmed OnesPrue Phoebe (Season 1-3 and 7 [Drake arc only] ) Piper (excluding 4-8) Paige (Season 4 & 7 only) The Magical Powered OnesGrams (excluding Season 5 & 7) Patty (excluding S7) Victor Leo (Season 1 and 2 only) Drake Cole (Season 4 first half only) The Non Powered OnesAndy Darryl The InnocentsMaggie Mark Shelley Doug The VillainsNicholas Matthew The Seer The Crone Zankou Kyra 9. Which romantic pairings do you like? (pick as many as you like)Piper/Mark Prue/Bane Phoebe/Drake Paige/Henry Patty/Victor 10. Do you read and/or write fanfiction? Any particular type? Do you follow any of the virtual seasons?I read fanfictions before and it isn’t just Charmed. But, I’ve actually read more non-Charmed fan fiction than Charmed but that’s because I’ve been in the online fandoms since the 90s, and found many fanfics for other favorite shows of mine. As for writing, does attempting one count at another forum. My friends and I were in the process of writing a Bewitched style series based on Charmed starring Penny, Patty and Victor set in the late 60s and early 70s. We picked this format, as it meant writing scripts in half-hour format with a cold open and two acts easier than an hour long drama. And the fun of writing a comedy. It was thought to be the tone of Chick Flick and Sense and Sense Ability. No demons in this one. We did plan on Warlocks as villains in some episodes. Who do spells on the innocents or our heroes with Penny and Patty trying to undo them. We also thought of having Darryl’s father as our resident cop. However some of our group thought our future readers might not enjoy a series set in the 60s or 70s. And at one point thought of setting it in the 90s when the sisters were 18, 20 and 24 years old, with Grams as their mentor training them to be the Charmed Ones before their powers are unbound. With the sisters learning the craft and learning lessons along the way to prepare them with Grams serving the Leo role guiding them. Back as for our 60s show. We originally considered it having Little Prue and Piper but we didn’t like the idea of figuring out the inconsistencies with the timeline and opted to set the series much earlier and Prue being born in our final episode. However the site closed down and it disappointed me we never got to finish it. We were just in the process, of wrapping up our pilot script. I miss my friends, I haven’t been in touch with them since the board closed down in 2018. 11. Are you a fan of any other witch themed shows?Bewitched. 12. What are your other favourite shows, if any?Comedy/SitcomsThe Honeymooners Who’s the Boss I Lucy Lucy Happy Days Bewitched (named my son after Darren and my niece was named after after Elizabeth Montgomery) I Dream of Jeannie (named my youngest daughter after Jeannie) Private Secretary Get Smart The Munsters The Lucy Show The Love Boat The Jefferson’s Cheers The Golden Girls Fantasy/Sci-FiStar Trek Star Trek Next Generation Touched By an Angel The X-Files Ghost Whisperer Lost in Space Wonder Woman 70s Superman 60s Lois and Clark Superman and Lois (seen only a few episodes but only when was visiting my family and watching it with them)
Drama Murder She Wrote
Party of Five Third Watch
Chicago Hope ER
Non-Scripted 48 Hours Top Chef The Great British Bake Off Cold Case Files The Amazing Race Survivor
Unsolved Mysteries The FBI Files
LOL, as you can guess I love my comedy and sitcoms back in the 50s, 60s and 70s so much. You can already tell I loved them so much, I named my children after characters. My oldest daughter however wasn’t named after anybody from television. I don’t watch too many shows these days. As I don’t like how people don’t respect their elders. I guess it’s why I haven’t gotten into any new comedy shows since the 80s. And I’m old fashioned, of wanting to knowing who my good guys are and who my bad guys are. This opinion will be so unpopular I'm sure. 13. Are you male or female?
female. 14. What's your age group? (a) under 15, (b) 15-21, (c) 21-30, (d) 30-40, (e) 40-45, (f) 45-55, (g) over 55, (h) none of your beeswax.G. Over 55. Actually 76 right now. (I often feel embarrassed giving my age away, since I’m normally always the minority to be such an older fan, but seeing the generation thread poll, and seeing another silent generation member like myself, and some baby boomers, I’m no longer embarrassed.) I just wish I was still in contact with my old friends at my favorite forum that closed in 2018. Because I met three amazing ladies, two in my age group, 67 and 74, and a third but she was younger than us age 59. 15. What is your occupation? Volunteer at Salvation Army (as of 2012) 16. What country are you from?Bronx NYC (really born in Germany before moving to America at age 2. As my parents, my aunt and cousin along with myself and my older sister aged 4 wanted to escape from Germany following WWII after my grandparents and uncle sadly passed away during the war.) 17. How did you hear about the Charmed cafe?I’ve avoided many online communities because I feel out of place because of my age. But my favorite one the one I had been part of twenty years going all the way back to 1998. We had regular re-watches for our favorite old comedies from the 50s, 60s and 70s. We did attempt a Charmed One, but it didn’t continue past S1, as it was around the time the board was closing down. But I see this forum has its own Charmed re-watch going. It was an ezboard that turned into a Yuku after ezboard became Yuku in 2005 or 2006. I was a member since 1997. Oh, I really wish it was still standing, as to go back into the archives part of the forum from 1998 was a real joy. I actually have a few of my original Charmed reviews I posted at this site in 1999. And other shows I had been following at the time. (But I think it is on an old usb stick and also an old floopy disk, I never figured out how to get files off them). It’s where I spent my time at for twenty years, and why I’ve been hesitant to join a new forum since. I also don’t like how some forums allow swearing, and that is what puts me off places. My heart was broken to see it go away, it was my life for so SO long. Okay jump forward to 2020 during the pandemic, and i felt like the time was right to find new communities. I found Reddit, and found some communities at Reddit to talk about my favorite shows. Sadly some more active than others. I saw the Charmed Reddit community, which had quite a large community. But I didn’t have a happy experience here at all. I won’t go into detail why, but just let me say I don’t like being insulted for having a different opinion. So I unfollowed the Charmed subreddit community and ran the other way. I found another community, I didn’t feel comfortable at, and left. So I found the Charmed Cafe, and this time, I lurked instead of joining so I could not make the same mistake as last time. You all seem like a nice group of fans, so I decided to come out of the shadows and join. Third times the Charmed, this is going to be my new community. 18. Do you like the early or later seasons of charmed. a) Season 1-3 b) season 1-4 c) season 5-8 d) all of them e) a mix of both A.

I just read through your intro post and enjoyed hearing about your Charmed journey! I was a bit hesitant to join, too. I’d been on here as a guest for a while before I decided to make an account. This will be the first time for me to be on a message board. I haven’t made a lot of posts yet, but I’m enjoying it and think you will too :) How cool that you saw the preview with Lori Rom. I’ve watched the unaired pilot on YouTube. I am glad they went with Alyssa Milano for Phoebe rather than Lori. I might have grown to like Lori had she been the one to stay, but Alyssa did great with the role of Phoebe. My favorite sister is Prue, but I love Phoebe in Season 1 and 2 so much! Interesting to know that they were going to call the show “House Of Sisters”. I’m glad they went with Charmed--I’m not sure that House Of Sisters would have stuck as well. I just picked up the first season of Who’s The Boss! I wanted to check out other things Alyssa had been in and it looks like it’ll be a good show! How neat that you caught part of the episode on shift. That was a really good moment in The Wendigo. And what a great episode to start Charmed with! That ‘70s Episode is one of my favs. Loved seeing Grams and Patty in that ep, and the ending is great when Phoebe says, “Are you kidding? That is the best picture of me I’ve ever taken!” Wow! This is really interesting! I remember the writers strike in 2008. One of my other favorite TV shows, House, M.D., had been in its fourth season at that time and I remember I’d been upset that the season got reduced to only 16 rather than the normal 22. I didn’t know that this writers strike had originally been intended to happen earlier! And of course Kern did that. Gah. Like you, I really want to know what the plans were for Season 4 had Shannen not been fired. I feel the same about Season 6. Absolutely my least favorite season. The sisters were certainly nothing like they had been in the earlier seasons. For me, this is why I like Paige the most Post Season 3. I just don’t like how self centered Phoebe gets and how whiny and annoying Piper gets later on. Paige has her bad moments, too, but she at least redeems herself at the end and she is certainly the most likeable of the three to me. I am with you in that I prefer the Season 7 finale to the Season 8. I didn’t mind Piper/Leo in the very beginnings of their relationship, but it just got worse as it continued. I am a Piper/Mark fan and wished there was some way these two could have been together. Dead Man Dating is another one of my favorite episodes and I absolutely loved the connection these two shared. This is a great list of five favs! That ‘70s Episode made my top five, too. I had different ones for the rest of them, but I do like all of these two! (Really, it’s hard for me to pick just five. I love so many from the first three seasons.) Chick Flick just makes me laugh so much! That scene when Piper is hiding in the shower (“I am being stalked by a psycho killers and I hide in the shower?”) and then Prue comes in the bathroom who Piper thinks is one of the baddies after her and they scare each other when Prue pulls back the curtain - LOL! Yay, I see you’re also a Piper/Mark fan! So sorry to hear that happened. It really sounds like you and your friends had some interesting stories going! No matter when they were set, I would have read them! I really think this is cool that we have fans with such a diverse age range in this fandom. I’m 26 (will be turning 27 this year) and just found Charmed last year. I love reading accounts from those who watched it when it was airing. I wonder how my perspective on the show would have been similar/different had I watched it live and been the age that I am now. I think that I would have been too young during its run for it to have made the impression on me that it does now. I’m sorry that this happened to you. I’ve read some posts on reddit with Charmed, but I’m not a part of the community myself. Having been in another fandom on Twitter, I’ve seen people be so incredibly rude to others just because their opinion wasn’t the same as theirs. I saw it a lot in regards to pairings. The relationship I liked in the fandom I was a part of got called “delusional” so many times from fans who didn’t support the pairing. It was sad, really, because I had actually shipped that same pairing at one time before falling in love with a different one and never once would I ever say anything bad to them just because I didn’t like that pairing anymore. Thank you so much for sharing your story, Crone! I can’t wait to read more of what you think about Charmed and to talk with you more! :)

Also welcome here the Crone and enjoy yourself as well.
No-one's ever old to like a fandom. My mum's 74 and loves Harry Potter enough to have all 8 films and visited Warner Bros studios in Watford London 3 times before.

I just read through your intro post and enjoyed hearing about your Charmed journey! Thank you Prue's Feather, I'm happy you enjoyed reading my journey. Nice to know I'm not the only newbie on the block, like you. I'm very happy you are enjoying the forum so far. I sure am. I agree sometimes, I find its better to lurk and read the forum as a guest before joining, so you know what you are getting into. A lesson I learned [/span] [/quote] Yes, I saw the original preview with Lori. I have seen the Unaired Pilot on Youtube myself. Some differences, the one thing I wished they kept as part of the show was when it was stated in the unaired pilot that If a witch violets the wiccan lead and oath, they become known as a warlock, regardless of their gender. The same way I wonder if the opposite could be true for Warlocks. If they made Cole a warlock, and he turned good for himself and not just for Phoebe, maybe I'd buy into him changing. But it felt like he did it all for Phoebe and to be worthy of her love. I'm glad they went with Alyssa, or else I'd never have likely watched it. I don't think Lori is bad, she just didn't fit Phoebe. She'd may have been okay as another sister or relative. I love Phoebe in S1 and S2 so much too, Prue's Feather. I do love Prue as well, and as for Piper only the earlier seasons. It is very interesting, and I agree I think the title change to Charmed worked. I don't know how House of Sisters would go down with viewers over time. But I guess they used this since the show starred three sisters under the same roof, and their relationship being the most important. Thinking about it more. I'm glad they changed it. Since the show hardly was about the sisters being the central focus later on when the supporting cast got added like Leo, Chris and Cole getting so much focus, that I'd be so insulted that the show went against its own name House of Sisters. It would be more like House of Lovers, which would be true for S5-S8. So cool. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did when it was airing. Did you know Alyssa is getting a revival of the show off the ground with her character as a single mother raising children. I loved the part I caught, as it reminded me of something right out of Touched By an Angel (another show I loved in the 90s). I'm glad my first episode was That '70s Episode, as it was the perfect full episode introduction into the show. Why it is among my all time favorites. I used to love Morality Bites so much, but, I just can't enjoy it as I once did, because the last time I re-watched it, my mind flashes to Hyde School Reunion and I get bad flashbacks of when I quit the show the first time. This one just makes me so sad, because what could have been a very important lesson and episode, feels like it meant absolutely nothing to the sisters in the long-term. I really wish Prue's Feather, I could forget what comes after, but I just can't. I love that ending line too, it was just so amazing. The Crone: The Writers Strike in 2008 was horrible, and It could have happened again last year in 2020, but the Pandemic put it on hold again. I know how upsetting it is when the seasons for a reduced order, as it meant whole arcs or stories are cut. The worst Writers Strike was in the 80s, much worse than the 2008 one. This strike lasted six whole months, compared to the 2008 one lasting three months. Makes me even more angry at Kern, that he fired Shannen. And imagine how hard the writers worked rushing plotlines in case of a strike, that I wouldn't blame some of the writers if they quit out of feeling disrespected for Kern firing Shannen now means all their plans for S4 had to be changed. I really would love to know what plans they had for Season 4, if Shannen wasn't fired. I feel like so many episodes in S4 felt like original scripts written with Prue, where they crossed out Prue's name and inserted Paige and made it fit the new S4 not the pre written to plan if a writers strike occurred episode. Enter the Demon felt like a Prue/Phoebe body swap episode, and The Fifth Halliwheel felt like a Prue episode not a Paige, with her not trusting Cole. The Crone: I'm happy to know I'm not alone in my dislike of S6. I thought it was in the top 3 best season among fans. Paige is the only sister I liked too, we'll in most seasons, I didn't like her in S6. I agree if I had to pick between the three, I'd pick Paige for the Post S3 sisters.Couldn't agree more Prue's Feather, they got so bad as time went on. I wished their love story ended after season 1. I didn't think others loved Piper/Mark as much as I did. Don't you just wish they had been the leading couple, as they had more in common. Piper and Leo I felt like nothing in common at all, and Leo was born in the 20s, so how could he relate to her. Prue's Feather: This is a great list of five favs! The Crone: Thank you. It was so hard to pick just five, I could pick my top twenty. I love so many more episodes myself. That scene was one of my favorites in Chick Flick. So funny. Prue's Feather: Yay, I see you’re also a Piper/Mark fan! The Crone: I sure am. I can't find any fanfics with Piper and Mark though. Which I would read. Prue's Feather: So sorry to hear that happened. It really sounds like you and your friends had some interesting stories going! No matter when they were set, I would have read them! The Crone: Thank you. We sure did. I've been looking to find them since, but with no luck. I'm hoping they are doing okay. Who knows, maybe I'll end up working on it myself, but I tend to work better in a team than on my own when writing. I've always wished they decided to do a prequel series on Charmed than a reboot. Imagine how fun it would be to have a show starring Melinda or Prudence or the 20s cousins or even Patty, Grams and Victor. I'd watch that over a reboot. Prue's Feather: I really think this is cool that we have fans with such a diverse age range in this fandom. The Crone: Me too, Prue's Feather. I'm excited to know we have two members in Esmeralda and Granny Charmed in my age group. I'm so happy to know that Charmed's legacy has lived on, that new fans like you have found the show. I do wonder how you'd feel if you did watch when you were younger, but as you said, you might have been too young to see it. It might not have attracted you. Prue's Feather: I’m sorry that this happened to you. The Crone: That's part of the reason I don't do Twitter. I'm just too old for all that drama. I'm sorry to hear you had some problems with others due to shipping a character. That's the kind of people I avoid. I'm the same Prue's Feather, I'd never insult or tell someone they are delusional for having a different opinion than me. I'd just listen and read, mention I feel differently, and appreciate them sharing their different point of view. I find it interesting to hear how others feel differently.
Prue's Feather: Thank you so much for sharing your story, Crone! I can’t wait to read more of what you think about Charmed and to talk with you more! The Crone: Thank you for taking the time to read and comment back to my story. I had fun replying back to you. I can't wait to talk more about Charmed with you and others here.

No, we haven't visited Harry Potter World in Universal Studios but did holiday in Orlando Florida when I was 11 in 1991 though then.

Name you want to go by: Aaeiyn will suffice.
Age: I decline to state my real age. I will say I am 25+. That is all anybody really needs to know.
Favorite Charmed character and why: My favorite Charmed character that is of the Halliwell sisters is Piper. I think she's the least seflish and rude of them all. And, I do agree with what their mother (Patty) said "you're the heart of this family, Piper". My favorite Charmed character that isn't any of the Halliwell sisters is Cole. I love his complexity and somberness. I'm a sucker for tragic characters. In turn, I love/admire/cherish the Phoebe & Cole relationship. Yes, it is toxic and not healthy, but I'm not watching the show to look for relationship advice. The couples need to bring more than just "we're happy and healthy", in order for me to be entertained. All shows have their couples go through toxic and unhealthy situations. It's normal for the Phoebe & Cole relationship to go through such lengths, in order to be, together. Which is where I feel like the Piper & Leo couple lacked, in comparison, but I digress and sort of didn't quite stay on the initial topic, and I apologize for the rant.
Favorite Season: Season 1 remains my all time favorite season. It started off the series so strongly. Plus, it has another favorite character of mine (that isn't one of the sisters) in it, as well, and that's Andy. It's unfortunate he's only available in this season. S1 is a good season with Prue, in it. But, if you were to ask me my favorite season with Prue, I'm going to say S3. I felt she was more balanced out, in S3 compared to her S1 counterpart. My favorite season with Paige is S5, but I'm not quite a fan of S5, in general. I much prefer S6 and S7 over S5. But, like with Prue, S5 is Paige's best season, IMO. Again, I digress.
Favorite Episode: Such a tough choice to pick a singular episode. My favorite episode in S1 is "The Power of Two" episode. This has Andy in it as much more of an ally than just a love interest, for Prue. While, it lacks the Piper character, it's still a good episode to watch the dynamic of the sisters enlisting the help of others outside of the magical community. My favorite episode in S2 is "Morality Bites" because it's a great lesson in knowing the difference between protecting the innocent and punishing the guilty. My favorite episode in S3 is "The Good, the Bad and the Cursed". One of my favorite Alyssa Milano performances. My favorite episode in S4 is "Long Live the Queen". It was a great tragic moment to end the Phoebe & Cole relationship. My favorite episode in S5 is "The Day Magic Died". The episode was hilarious, and it really showcased Piper's strength, as a mother, and how far she's willing to go, to protect her baby, even if it isn't born, yet. My favorite S6 episode is "The Power of Three Blondes". IK it seems silly, and it is more of a guilty pleasure pick rather than a "serious episode", but I like to have fun watching the show, as well. And, it does have its serious moments, and the Blondes were really close in destroying the Charmed Ones. My favorite S7 episode is "Charmed Noir". I love noirs, and I love Brody (wish we got more of him, but I digress). My favorite S8 episode is "The Lost Picture Show". It was nice to see Sam, again and give more depth to the Billie (I like her, too) character. Along with showcasing how strong Paige actually is. Looking at my list, now...I'll probably choose "The Power of Two" episode, from S1. But, the other episodes are still really good.
Other shows you watch: I watched Buffy up to the first episode of S6. I've seen bits and pieces of scenes from Angel. Another Joss Whedon (IK he's going through some nasty legal cases, ATM, but this doesn't negate some of the work he's done, that I do like. I do separate the art from the artist, but I digress) show ('cause he did both Buffy and Angel) I like is Firefly. I did follow Kaley Cuoco (Billie) into The Big Bang Theory, and I really like that. I heard she's voiced Harley Quinn for the Harley Quinn Animated Series, but I have yet to watch it, despite liking Batman media. Speaking of Batman media, I do enjoy the series Gotham. I'd place Gotham as my second favorite TV show next to Charmed, OFC. I've watched a few "reality" TV shows, as well, but the one I like the most would be King of the Nerds. I've re-watched several episodes and seasons of that show, as well. That's really all of the shows I can think of that I've watched, enjoyed and have re-watched. I've seen other shows but not enough to really enjoy watching/re-watching them to list.
Anything else you want to tell us I don't like Phoebe and wished she would've died instead of Prue. Phoebe was fine from S1-S4x13. After that (S4x14-S8), I can't stand her. I (often) fantasize how the series would've gone down had all four of them stuck around or no Phoebe. I don't hate Paige and really enjoyed her character.
EDIT: I'm not on ProBoards much. But, when I'm around more active people, I tend to be equally as active, as well. I'm a part of other Charmed groups on FB and Reddit. I love the show and love talking about the show with anybody willing to talk about it LOL

1. How long have you been a Charmed fan?
1998. Season 1 episode 9 (Witch is Back). But I managed to catch some reruns over the Christmas hiatus for the first few and summer.
2. Have you seen (a) every episode more than once, (b) every episode at least once, (c) most of the episodes, (d) fewer than half of the episodes?
A.
3. Do you still watch Charmed (on TV, online, video or DVD)? If yes, do you watch (a) every day, (b) once or twice a week, (c) a few times a month, (d) a few times a year?
I hadn't watched it in quite a long time. When the show ended, I moved onto other shows.
It was this past year during the pandemic, I re-discovered the show again when I purchased the seasons on Blu-Ray. Boy, is the show even better in HD, It's so stunning, and feels like a modern day show. I also forgot most of the episodes, which made watching it again more fun.
4. How long have you been in the online fandom?
2000, when I first discovered some fan forums for not just Charmed but my other favorite shows like Xena, The X-Files and then Smallville.
5. How do you feel about the finale and the way the show ended? (a) loved it, (b) liked it, (c) had mixed feelings, (d) disliked it, (e) hated it?
D) disliked it.
I found season 7's finale better. But even then both that and Forever Charmed, it's the actual ending scenes I didn't care for.
6. Rank the seasons from most to least favourite.
Season 1 > Season 3 > Season 2 > Season 7 > Season 5 > Season 4 > Season 6 > Season 8
7. Your five favourite and five least favourite episodes?
five favourite
1. The Witch is Back (since it was my first episode) 2. That 70s Episode 3. Morality Bites 4. Sin Francisco 5. Show Ghouls
five least favourite episodes
1. Marry Go Round 2. Oh My Goddess 3. Prince Charmed 4. Hyde School Reunion 5. Once in a Blue Moon
8. Your favourite characters (as many as you wish).
Prue (Up to The Good the Bad and the Cursed) Piper (Season 1-3 and 5 only) Phoebe (Season 1-3 and late S7) Paige Andy Leo (up to Murphy's Luck) Cole (up to Charmed and Dangerous) Sheila Darryl Natalie Nicholas Barbas Penny (Season 1-4 only) Patty (Season 1-4 and 8 only) The Seer The Crone
Drake Zankou Kyra
9. Which romantic pairings do you like? (pick as many as you like)
Piper/Leo (until Love Hurts)
Piper/Mark Phoebe/Drake Prue/Andy Paige/Henry Patty/Victor Prue/Cole (not canon, but don't I wish)
10. Do you read and/or write fanfiction? Any particular type? Do you follow any of the virtual seasons?
Never wrote any fanfics, I don't have the talent. I might be good at coming up with ideas, but never attempt to write a story. I've read many fanfics not exclusive to Charmed.
If anybody has any recommendations, for ones with the original Charmed Ones or stories with all four sisters, I'd love to read them. I've always been interested in alternate universe stories, so ones where Prue never dies, or ignores canon S6-S8 would be wonderful (unless it features S7's Drake, Kyra and or Zankou).
11. Are you a fan of any other witch themed shows?
Witches of East End Sabrina the Teenage Witch
12. What are your other favourite shows, if any?
Scripted
Xena The X-Files Smallville One Tree Hill Grimm Arrow Legends of Tommorw Superman and Lois (love this new show, was hesitant to watch it because I hated how Supergirl used Superman) Supernatural Walker Titans
Non scripted The Batchelor Survivor American Crime Story
Evil Genius
Tiger King Unsolved Mysteries 48 Hours Forensic Files
13. Are you male or female?
Male.
14. What's your age group? (a) under 15, (b) 15-21, (c) 21-30, (d) 30-40, (e) 40-45, (f) 45-55, (g) over 55, (h) none of your beeswax.
D. 30-40
15. What is your occupation?
Photographer.
16. What country are you from?

E) Mix of them.
Season 1-4 and 7

Welcome to the board Emmett. So cool you have discovered Charmed again after so many years. I keep hearing good things about the show in HD, and reading the comments and reviews on our anniversary board, most members love seeing it remastered in HD. As for your question about any recommendations, for fanfics with the original Charmed Ones, All four sisters, or alternate universe stories or ones featuring Drake. You might find some in the fanfic board, but some longtime members here might be able to help you more on that.

Another new member. Nice to meet you Emmett . I hope you have fun and enjoy yourself here of course. Like Aaeiyn I look forward to reading what you thought of the show. Thank you, Melinda Halliwell. I hope I'll have lots of fun here, and hope my love of this show can be even more rediscovered. I really love that I had a fifthteen year break from the show, because re-watching the show again, so many episodes felt new to me, because I didn't remember the plots. I'll have to take a look at that board.
Thank you, I'll see if I can find something I like. And if anybody here who is a longtime fan has any recommendations for stories featurring the original charmed ones, all four sisters or just ones with Prue, I'd love to read them?

Some of you may still know me, some of you won't. I was a part of the board about a decade ago. After getting married and having kids, I ended up not having time. Now I'm separated and don't have my kids as often, and it's time to get back to things that I loved, and that includes talking Charmed even if it's been so long since I've actually watched the episodes (I no longer have them on DVD and I don't subscribe to Paramount+, which is where I believe the show is for me in Canada). So, I thought I'd fill out this again for those who don't know me 1. How long have you been a Charmed fan?Quite some time. I came into the series late as around the late '90s I didn't watch too much TV and I was more into Buffy the Vampire Slayer than anything else. It was reruns on TV in the UK (where I used to live) and I immediately fell in love with Prue's character and kept watching from there. I think Season 5 was the first season I watched live but I did remember reading about Rose McGowen joining Season 4. 2. Have you seen (a) every episode more than once, (b) every episode at least once, (c) most of the episodes, (d) fewer than half of the episodes?A. 3. Do you still watch Charmed (on TV, online, video or DVD)? If yes, do you watch (a) every day, (b) once or twice a week, (c) a few times a month, (d) a few times a year?I haven't watched the show in a very long time. When I moved from the UK to Canada, I gave up my DVDs because they wouldn't work on DVD players over here. I work in entertainment journalism and watch a lot of TV shows, so I don't tend to have time to rewatch something unless it's for something specific. 4. How long have you been in the online fandom? This one, from around the late '00s. I joined while I was at uni. Overall, a bit longer than that. 5. How do you feel about the finale and the way the show ended? (a) loved it, (b) liked it, (c) had mixed feelings, (d) disliked it, (e) hated it?D. I tend to leave the word hate for things I'm extremely passionate about, like my lying, cheating, ex-husband. When it comes to TV shows, unless it's something that is designed to really get a rise out of people and cause a hate-storm, I'm unlikely to actively hate something. Hate is a strong word. 6. Rank the seasons from most to least favourite.Season 1 Season 3 Season 2 Season 4 Season 6 Season 5 Season 7 Season 8 7. Your five favourite and five least favourite episodes?I'm doing this off the memory I have of the episodes. five favourite 1. Morality Bites 2. That 70s Episode 3. Sin Francisco 4. The Seven Year Witch (purely for Julian McMahon and trying to right the wrong to his character) 5. Deja Vu All Over Again five least favourite episodes Name five from Season 8 and they'd be on that list haha! 8. Your favourite characters (as many as you wish).Prue Early Phoebe and Piper Andy Early Darryl Cole (purely for Julian McMahon) Barbas Natalie Drake Zankou 9. Which romantic pairings do you like? (pick as many as you like)Piper/Mark Prue/Andy Phoebe/Drake Phoebe/Cole (in the earlier seasons) 10. Do you read and/or write fanfiction? Any particular type? Do you follow any of the virtual seasons?Yes to both. I love reading fanfiction. I created my own version of a spin-off with the children of the Charmed Ones. It's a sort of alternate reality spin-off though as Piper is dead and it brings in the Power of Three with a slight twist. I've also done a Supernatural/Charmed mashup series. I'm up to season 2. It's been a long time since I've written anything though. In fact, it was before I moved to Canada five years ago. When I had a newborn in the house, I had a lot of time because she would keep me up all night and that was the perfect time to write. Then my lying, cheating SOB ex decided to complain we didn't spend a lot of time together because I was writing (in the middle of the night when everyone else slept...) and I cut back. Exhaustion led to a loss of creativity. I'm hoping I'll get it back now that I'm less exhausted and have time that I get to be completely selfish about. I'm already feeling more like socialising here again, so that's a good sign. 11. Are you a fan of any other witch themed shows?Witches of East End (was gutted that was canceled) I actually didn't mind the Charmed reboot but god only knows what they're doing to it now. There are times I like it and times I don't but it's my beat for work so I gotta watch it. Sabrina the Teenage Witch (both the comedy version and the Netflix drama) Supernatural (not completely witch-themed, but I'm counting it since it has witches now and then) A Discovery of Witches The Magicians I've been thinking of giving Motherland: Fort Salem a chance because I've heard a lot of great things about that from writer friends who watch it. Not got around to it yet though. 12. What are your other favourite shows, if any?Way too many to mention. I do watch a lot of TV and there are a few shows that I'd happily watch again and again. Supernatural Buffy the Vampire Slayer The Magicians Van Helsing Resident Alien Being Human (UK version) A lot of British sitcoms that most people in the States and Canada haven't heard of Downton Abbey A Discovery of Witches Outlander Manifest (so glad it's been saved for a final season) Good Girls My genre choices are all over the place. 13. Are you male or female?Female 14. What's your age group? (a) under 15, (b) 15-21, (c) 21-30, (d) 30-40, (e) 40-45, (f) 45-55, (g) over 55, (h) none of your beeswax.D. 30-40 15. What is your occupation?Freelance writer mostly in entertainment journalism. 16. What country are you from?Canada but grew up in the UK 17. How did you hear about the Charmed cafe?I honestly can't remember I've been a member for so long. 18. Do you like the early or later seasons of charmed. a) Season 1-3 b) season 1-4 c) season 5-8 d) all of them e) a mix of bothA

Redoing your Intro Post is a great idea, Lexi - it was fun to get myself reacquainted with you.
Since I wrote my first post in this thread in 2016, I decided to follow your lead and re-post my Intro Post, updating it as I go.
1. How long have you been a Charmed fan? Since the show first started.
2. Have you seen (a) every episode more than once, (b) every episode at least once, (c) most of the episodes, (d) fewer than half of the episodes? B, although I've only seen Season 6 and Season 8 once and plan on never watching them again unless our Anniversary Re-Watch continues that far. I'll be curious to see if my responses to those two seasons have changed I know we'll be re-watching S4 starting in October, another season I don't like, so I'm curious to see if my reaction towards that one will change.
3. Do you still watch Charmed (on TV, online, video or DVD)? If yes, do you watch (a) every day, (b) once or twice a week, (c) a few times a month, (d) a few times a year? D. I have the first three seasons on DVD and my favorite episodes from the other seasons (especially TNT's marathons) on VHS which I had transferred to DVD. I admit I don't watch them as much as I used to, but every month or so, I'll sit down and have a marathon, especially a Sheryl J. Anderson marathon, since I love the way she wrote the sisters..
ADDED: I now also have S4, S5 and S8. My friend, StoryGirl83, won the Book of Shadows version of the DVDs and let me have her individual DVDs. She didn't have the S7 one, which I'd like to own, no way I want the S6 one and I only got the S8 one for the extras. I've watched a few of the episodes, but am waiting to see if our Anniversary Re-watch reaches those seasons before re-watching them
4. How long have you been in the online fandom? I first discovered the ezBoard version of thecharmedones.com (which featured a message board, The Charmed Cafe) - my first Charmed online site - during Season 5. Charmed was my first and is my only online fandom.
5. How do you feel about the finale and the way the show ended? (a) loved it, (b) liked it, (c) had mixed feelings, (d) disliked it, (e) hated it? D. I love all of the rewrites that are around much more, especially PiperCharmedPhreak's, Fourever Charmed's and GZV969's and, of course, my own, even if it's not my own favorite of my fanfics.
6. Rank the seasons from most to least favorite. 1 2
3
7
5
8
4
6
7. Your five favorite and five least-favorite episodes?
Oh, man, that's tough!!! Definitely subject to change, but right off the top of my head:
FAVORITES:
1. Morality Bites (all-time favorite even if I wish it hadn't been part of Charmed due to how it screwed up Piper who I don't think ever should've been married to a man with powers or ever have kids - I think her own catering service - not club or restaurant - should've been her only baby.)
2. That 70s Episode
3. All Halliwell's Eve
4. The Witch is Back
5. Dead Man Dating
LEAST-FAVORITES
1. Sleuthing with the Enemy
2. Valhalley of the Dolls
3. Oh, My Goddess
4. It's a Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad World
5. Forever Piper, I mean Forever Crap, I mean Forever Charmed
8. Your favorite characters (as many as you wish). Oh, man, again too many to name!
S1 & S3 Patty is my all-time favorite.
Melinda Warren, Bane Jessup, Billy Applegate, S2 Cupid, Maggie Murphy, Late S1-Early S3 Prue, S1 & S5 Piper (not counting 'Oh, My Goddess' which I count as part of S6, S1-2 Phoebs, S4 Paige and S1 Leo tie for my second-favorite.
Honorable mention goes to: Early S2 Piper; Early S3 Phoebe, S8 Paige, S1-2 Grams, Mark Chao, Rex, Andy, Aviva, Young Prue, Little Piper, S1 Barbas, Eric, Charlene, Eva, Bo Lightfeather, S3 Source, Debbi Morgan's Seer, Dr. Ava Nicolae, The Crone, Kyra, Drake, Zankou, Hope, Little Wyatt and Henry.
Oh, man, I'm sure I'm missing some, but that gives you the idea...
9. Which romantic pairings do you like? (pick as many as you like) Paige and Henry
Prue and Bane
Piper and Mark
Phoebe and S2 Cupid or Drake or Kyra
10. Do you read and/or write fanfiction? Any particular type? Do you follow any of the virtual series? I both read and write them. I particularly love alternate-universe ones. My favorite fanfics are Kalvana's "Future Consequences" and Scififantasychic's "The Witch and The Assassin", both which show how Chris should've been written. My favorite of my own fics is "The Warren Curse", co-written with Aurora Nightstar, and "My Sister's Dying", the story I dedicated to my mom.
My favorite virtual series is Lexi’s “Progeny: Angels and Demons” and I ADORE P3Nathan’s “Charmed; The Final Season” - just wish he'd finished it. Ditto for “Charmed: Reality Reset” if if was finished and if the next generation didn’t stay so long. As is I like it. I also loved Twin_Swords’ “Destined: The Charmed Sons” and wish it had been finished.
11. Are you a fan of any other witch-themed shows? Only Bewitched (the TV show, not the movie)
12. What are your other favorite shows, if any? Oh, man, again too many to mention! But if you mean those that are currently on, just: The Hallmark Christmas Movies Forensic Files Lt. Joe Kenda - American Detectives Very Scary People
Right now I'm REALLY into true crime, especially because the bad guy usually gets caught.
13. Are you male or female? Straight female
14. What's your age group? (a) under 15, (b) 15-21, (c) 21-30, (d) 30-40, (e) 40-45, (f) 45-55, (g) over 55, (h) none of your beeswax. G. I don’t mind saying that I was born in 1953, so I turned 67 last July
15. What is your occupation? Accounts Receivable clerk for a wholesale florist for almost 21 years (plan on retiring when I hit 70); a file clerk for a large corporation for 23 years before that, and a bunch of short-time ones before that.
16. What country are you from? United States of America (Minnesota)
17. How did you hear about the Charmed Café? I found out about thecharmedones.com through thewb.com and that led me to their message board, the Charmed Café.
18. Do you like the early or later seasons of Charmed? a) Season 1-3 b) season 1-4 c) season 5-8 d) all of them e) a mix of both A – for me, that’s Charmed. The others are just an alternate-universe spin-off. Charmed is one of my all-time favorite shows. The alternate-universe spin-off doesn't even make the Top 1000. That has very little to do with Prue vs Paige who was my favorite of the second set, but much more to do with the change of writers and the change of the Charmed Ones from sisters who happened to be witches who I admired to demon-slayers who happen to live in the same house who I hated, the reason I believe it's an alternate-universe spin-off.

I was just thinking about Reality Reset and The Charmed Sons spin-off the other day. It's such a shame they were never finished, but I have no room to talk. I never finished mine...although I'm looking at revisiting mine now that I have more time and this weekend I've been hit with a creativity buzz. It's like my muse has revisited or finally had the chance to break through the wall I put up.
