Hi, I'm new to the board. I love Charmed (the original) - tried watching the new series and couldn't get into it.
I'm currently rewatching most of the episodes at the moment. Right now I'm on The Day the Magic Died, one of my favorites.

Nice to meet you dursland. I hope you enjoy and have fun yourself here. I too liked Zankou as a villain because of how smart cold and calculated he was concerning the Charmed Ones of course. Season 4 was okay but not my favorite personally because of one the Cole/Source Phoebe Queen Of The Underworld storyline and two how Piper started to become more unlikeable for me and the way she also started treating Leo sometimes excluding episodes like "Saving Private Leo" obviously. The first part of season 4 when we met Paige was more enjoyable for me overall. |

1. How long have you been a Charmed fan?My Charmed journey starts when the show originally aired. I remember it so well. It was during May of 1999. I sat down to make sure that I would tape a show for a friend to not miss an episode of a show called "Charmed". My plan was to sit for a minute, make sure the VHS was taping what it was supposed to be taping and move on to more important things in my night. But clearly fate had other ideas for me. And thus I began this insane journey of Charmed, and got hooked almost immediately. The episode that was playing was From Fear to Eternity. I instantly loved Prue and Phoebe's relationship. I ended up rooting for Prue to defeat the Demon of Fear (that's what he was called in this one). I couldn't wait for the episodes to air in New Zealand. After finishing S1, I was upset that I couldn't see the next one until the following year. I was born and raised in Chicago until aged 11. So my parents would get our family back home to send me VHS tapes (Remember VHS ) of Charmed (and other shows). And that was my Christmas present for 1999. I was crying so much. I know my friends at school were so jealous of me. Getting to see the second season of Charmed ahead of them, they begged me to let them come on over so we could all watch it. I continued to get express packages with VHS tapes sent to me every month. So I continued to keep up with Charmed (and other shows I liked). For my 19th birthday in 2005, I was gifted the First Season of Charmed on DVD. 2. Have you seen (a) every episode more than once, (b) every episode at least once, (c) most of the episodes, (d) fewer than half of the episodes?

Disliked it. It was just so predictable. That is not how I'd end the series. I rolled my eyes that they used time travel as a way to fix things. Coop's ring used to allow Piper to save Phoebe and Paige. Give me a break. It was way too crowded with extra characters. The Billie and Christy story I disliked. It was such an afterthought. All that build-up, and it ended on a predictable note.  I was much more impressed with Something Wicca This Way Goes. At least that episode, kept me on the edge of my seat. The plot was more compelling. Am I a bad fan for not sheading a single tear in Forever Charmed. 6. Rank the seasons from most to least favourite.

Don't write at all. I don't have the time and energy for that. I love fanfics, but more non-Charmed ones. It comes down to just me not having found too many I particularly like. I have read some though. I'm dying to find more virtual seasons for Charmed that is set in the earlier seasons or rewriting the series. I find so many for non-Charmed shows, but not too many for Charmed. And that is what really gets me excited. Here's what I have read:

Weren't those the days. I don't know how many times my old VHS tapes could watched. I have a copy of the Women of Charmed special on it. Since for a long time, I never found it online. It's sad the DVD boxsets didn't have it on them. Yes Sandra was the only decent Elder on the show. I couldn't care less for the rest of them. I also liked Natalie too. I didn't do this intro thread right, so here it is.

Favorite Charmed character and why: Piper, because she's stubborn, but also caring to all around her, gets mad easily, and I kind of related with her.
Favorite Season: 7
Favorite Episode: Coyote Piper, that episode was hilarious, Piper acting very different from herself.
Other shows you watch: in the past, Buffy the vampire slayer, sabrina the teenage witch, Angel, Charmed, Smallville, etc. Currently, I used to watch Ordinary Joe and Queens.
Other stuff: I discovered Charmed pretty late when it was like airing I think was airing around season 5, and was just watching reruns on another channel. And just fell in love with it. Through the love, when I ended. I wanted it to continue with the next generation. So I created rpg, lasted five seasons. Unfortunately rpgs tend to die out after a while, so I turned that rpg into writing form instead, changing the title from charmed the next generation to now Chosen Ones, and from that, spawned another idea, using a bit of lore from charmed, a show I created called Magic and Mystery.

I loved how you got introduced into the show. Fate certainly had other plans for you. To think, just recording Charmed for a friend who loved it (Are they still a fan of Charmed?) is what got you hooked. I remember the days of VHS. Back then, Charmed wasn't on DVD until 2005. So VHS was how I too could have a copy of it. |

Favorite Charmed character and why: Paige. She's a white-lighter AND a witch, and is the youngest sister. Although, before we found her, I was partial to Phoebe, only because I have had a crush on Alyssa Milano since Who's The Boss. (her and Drew Barrymore). I didn't quite like her premonition powers (same as Phoebe) because they weren't active. But I digress.
I have just started watching the show again after 10 years, so I have forgotten a lot. When the show became available to watch on Netflix, I tried to watch it then, but the new intro song was garbage! I hate popping in DVDs this day and age, so I converted them to videos and put them on my personal media server.
Since I have recently lost my wife to covid in October of 2021, I have had a lot of time on my hands (empty nest) and have gotten comfort in watching old shows that made me happy. Charmed is now my next show, and decided I wanted to join a community to talk about the show. But just this show, not the others.

Hi, ComputerDavid it's nice to meet you. I'm sorry to hear you lost your wife last October to COVID. I too lost a family friend of 25 years to that last February which shocked my mum and me obviously. A few shows you've noted down new and old I've watched also as well. I would have to say in the later seasons of Charmed out of all three sisters Paige was probably the more likable one of the lot simply because she cared about innocents somewhat still unlike Piper and Phoebe whereas in the earlier seasons Piper or Phoebe was either my favorite sister in 1 or 2 at least. I hope you enjoy yourself and have fun here then. |
