Charmed: The Power of Three (Film 1)

Synopsis: Following the death of their grandmother Penny Halliwell, the three Halliwell sisters Prue, Piper and Phoebe reunite in their family home. Little do they know that their newfound powers mean that they are now prey to evil forces. However after a visit from their ancestor Melinda Warren who gives a warning that warlocks walk among them, the sisters are left to determine who is a friend and who is a foe.

Piper auditions for a position at Quake. Prue struggles to come to terms with working for a pig of a boss and runs into her old childhood friend Andy. Phoebe who stumbles upon an old journal of their mothers, in it she learns details the past, about a pact their mother made with a warlock, the same pact that might have gotten her killed.

Synopsis: As the Halliwell sisters continue their job as protectors of the innocent, having vanquished the demons and warlocks known as Javna and Keli. The sisters decide to take a trip to Salem, during the Summer Solstice. 

A warlock tries to steals a locket at a Witch Museum, when Phoebe has a premonition of Melinda putting a warlock back into the locket. The sisters are later attacked in an alley, and Phoebe is sent back into the past.

While Prue and Piper try to figure out how to find Phoebe and if she's dead, Prue learns that her boss Rex is a warlock, and the descendant of the same warlock who had Melinda killed during the Witch Trials.

Piper does not suspect her mousy new waitress Christy is putting on her mousy personality, Phoebe makes a new friend in her college class Billie and Prue grows closer to Darryl's new partner Cole.

The reporter blackmails the sisters, eventually the situation goes deadly when one sister is shot and rushed to an emergency room. While the sister ends up in a coma without any hope of waking up, the other two sisters cast the awakening spell with consequences.

Love this! I'm glad you decided to use the novel rather than SWTWC - love the addition of Melinda Warren! And ADORE letting TSE be part of the first movie - it would've been certain to bring people who love sisters who happen to be witches and not a lot of special effects back for the next movie!

I also REALLY love your idea of including the Release Date!

DARN IT! I was SO hoping you wouldn't kill off a sister, but I ADORE you including Shiny Antic's wonderful TSOPD! And I LOVE that Prue has some unfinished business, so she's still part of it.

*sigh* I guess if you have to kill off Prue, this is the best way to do it. But I'd still prefer if it was all just the original three. Mine will always be the original Power of Three and never include Cole, Wyatt, Chris or Billie and Christy, since they took too much time away from the sisters.

But if you want to, like adding Paige, it's YOUR movie series so do what YOU want to do, not what I'd want to do...although if it's okay with you, I might end up using some of your synopsizes for my own.

Elements of 'Apocalypse Not', 'Witch Way Now?', 'Morality Bites' and 'Something Wicca This Way Goes?' (Unlike the S7 finale, this is the one that would've been the series finale if Charmed hadn't been renewed at the last minute. It ends with Phoebe saying, "Here we go!" KaBOOM! The end! That's how I would want it to end!)

What do you think about that? Of course if someone wanted to do a second trilogy featuring the second set (with Prue the only one to die in my ending), they definitely could.  I'm just not interested in it at all.

Later Phoebe tells Prue about the journal after a scary encounter with Andy in a Wicca shop. This has Phoebe worried Andy might be the warlock. But Prue protests citing Andy would have been eight when their mother made the pact. Later Prue uses her powers and she still doesn't believe until
letting out her emotions in a Pharmacy.

Later they are scared for Piper seeing Andy talk to Piper at Quake but it's a fail alarm.

The next morning Phoebe shows the journal to Prue and Piper. But Piper still isn't interested. Phoebe tries to prove more but saying there's a spell in the book that might help them. They perform the spell and all three jump into the past but as viewers and unable to touch anything or anyone. They learn they had their powers as children and learn Patty is pregnant with Phoebe. They see Patty making the pact in an apartment but the warlock looks like Victor having tricked her into coming. So the sisters cant figure out who the warlock is. Before they can learn more they are right back in the present.

(Note: I didn't include time travel as much as I love that episode. And it happens in the next one of my films again more. So made them just viewers to watch the past.)

EMMETT: Me too, I prefer that novel to the first episode. It has so much content, it should have been used as a two-part series premiere. 

I love That Seventies Episode, and think it's such a fantastic episode to adapt for a first movie.

ES: OOOO! Can't wait to see how you combine this! That's what I had troubles with - combining episodes from different seasons.

EMMETT: I have some ideas, and in this one I'm changing things slightly so, The Demon of Fear doesn't have just one day on Friday the 13th to kill 13 witches. As don't think a movie covering a single day has enough content for a 90 minute or two hour movie. So getting around that, and just setting his deadline as Friday the 13th, or the 13th is when witches are most vulnerable to him.

I didn't want to originally use Billie and Christy at all. I wanted to use Zankou and the Seer, but because the Cursed Ones are warlocks, and I'd have to give them more human sounding names. Also couldn't think of other female warlocks to use. I just went with those two. But, if I think of somebody else, when I write this out more, I'm hoping to change those two. But put them in, just to give everyone a rough idea of what I have in mind.

EMMETT: Or Do I? Notice I never mention Paige.   But no, I haven't thought just yet what her backstory will be, just she won't be a half-whitelighter, or I might not even bring in Paige, and just go from this movie to the last one. Paige I've not plotted just yet what I'll do with her.

EMMETT: When I was writing this, I was planning to stick to the original three, but I just so happen to keep writing and the direction shifted to this. But, I had to let the sister who died have a part to play still in this.

No, I don't want any of those characters to take over. Chris and Wyatt won't be in mine at all, and Billie/Christy/Cole are just in one movie and done.

EMMETT: I love that novel too, and this one just felt like the perfect one to have combined. Yes, Tyler will be one of the innocents. I thought about, the movie starting off with Lost and Bound, and then shift with a time jump a few weeks, to the TBS plot. Since in that novel, Paige mentioned she was working on finalizing Tyler's adoption for many months. That's if I can't figure out how to combine them.

EMMETT: Thank you, looking forward to working on the rest. Won't surprise me, I change stuff around. I even have an idea, to make a change from earlier all based on discussions on the board. Changing Andy into the sisters female friend, or making this female friends partner being Cole in that movie.

I'm sure it will start to make sense when I write more of my synopsizes. I'm treating this as a draft. I just know my first four movies I have a clearer idea of what I want to do, it the last four I don't have anything settled.

EMMETT: I like it. I especially love you using the 'From Fear to Eternity' ending as the end of the first movie, fitting, given the episodes you combined. 

Someone certainly could do a second trilogy, but Prue doesn't have to be the one to die, it could be the other two. But as you said, you'd just not be interested in it at all.
