Seasons were your opinion changed the most over the years?

Oh man! What an idea for a thread I thought of today. 

Over the years of Charmed, How much has your opinion on a certain season changed?

I didn't mind season 5 as it was happening; the Cole destruction was troubling, but generally, as a sixteen year old, I was okay with the season as a whole. But looking back now, I don't think I have interest in watching any episode in particular like I do during the first four seasons, and even season 6 with Chris Crossed. Though, I will admit, figuring out who Chris was after "Oh My Goddess" was probably the biggest question I ever had on the show. Though, Cole's eyes flaming over and then going black would have been even better than the Chris scattering Leo's orbs scene as an ending if it was the end of the season scene, rather than having the questions answered a week later.

Season 7. For me it started off so weak, and the avatar storyline was a let-down, BUT upon future rewatches it has gotten better. I wouldn't say I ever hated it, but I feel it gets lumped in with the rest of the dross in that era but actually, I'd say it's at least on par with maybe season 3 or 4, the Zankou stuff specifically.
I find that my other most hated seasons (6 and 8) only improve once you slice out the filler and keep to certain storylines.

I'm on a rewatch right now, and only halfway through season 2. But I can say that I enjoyed season 1 much more than I thought. I've always liked that season, but I found myself absolutely loving it this time around. The 90s vibe, the unique stories, the humor. I still favor season 3, but I think season 1 was probably the best in quality.

A few years ago I watched some season 7 episodes that I remembered liking as a teenager, and I found that they could barely hold my attention. I've decided on my rewatch that I'm going to watch every single episode, good or bad, so I'll find out again if I still dislike those episodes and others in the later seasons.

Generally, I think I always liked the first four seasons more and the latter four seasons less, and I don't think that will change. So the biggest change for me is that I adored season 1 more than I had in the past.

I was embittered by season 7 because of the firts episodes, so bad to make me intolerant of the whole season until Seven Years Witch, I was happy that Leo turned human again, I hate the Elders

Seeing it again, I began to appreciate from episode 8, despite the presence of Kyle - a character that I hate- as well as Cheaper By the Coven - Victor Patty and Grams together, very funny - and Styx Feet Under, a moving episode

I cannot understand why the first episodes were so bad written and weak,  but the rest of the season is full of ideas and intriguing characters, Kyra and Drake, the Avatars and Zankou and exciting moments, especially Cole's return - for the first time serene and unselfish- and Leo's return to a more appropriate status for a father

Yup, also season 7 for me. Didn't like it in the beginning and thought it's not very different from 5-6 and 8. But it grew on me after a rewatch.

Well dears my opinions have not changed so much over the years. Season 1 and 2 is still loved by this girl.

However Season 7 is probably the only season that has changed and was hated and now liked. I admit I really did enjoy those last episodes. I do have a soft spot for Cheaper By the Coven and all all know why - the Victor, Patty and GRAMS scenes are good. I also enjoyed Styx Feet Under and Witchness Protection. Oh and let's not forget the Phoebe/Drake and those episodes were fun dears. So yes even though I do adore those early years - I *can* still find something enjoyable in those later years.

I might also throw some love to season 8 and only the Paige/Henry material is the saving grace of the season and just only. That I could just watch videos of their scenes only. Other than that a miss for me. If Henry can be transported to season 7 and we completely cut out a few early episodes - well then it would make an AMAZING FINAL SEASON FOR ME. Perhaps we could just cut down the season dears to 16 episodes - and end Charmed on the 150 episodes. That would be a nice way to go out on.

Season 6 is still at the very bottom for me dears. But I do have a handful of episodes I do enjoy in that season.

I've come to find season 2 being the only season where each sister is likeable to me. I am starting to feel season 8 isn't as bad as people say and season 4 is slightly worse than when I first saw it.

When I was younger I thought season 1 through 6 was the golden age of Charmed and the last two were boring. Now I only like the second half of five, a few eps in season six and the second half of seven.

Oh yes dear, as we get older our opinions change than what we thought originally at a younger age. Although for me, nothing has changed significantly. Given I started watching Charmed in my late 40s.

Season 4 was loved now disliked. Season 7 was hated now loved, Probably my only favorite among the second half of the series.

I find for a lot of the seasons I need to divide them in half. So:

First half of Season One liked, still like
Second half of Season One loved, still love

First half of Season Two loved, still love
Second half of Season Two loved, now dislike

First half of Season Three loved, now like
Second half of Season Three liked, now hate

First half of Season Four loved, still love
Second half of Season Four liked, now hate

First half of Season Five liked, now dislike
Second half of Season Five liked, still like (not counting 'Oh, My Goddess!')

First half of Season Six hated, still hate (counting 'Oh, My Goddess!')
Second half of Season Six hated, still hate

First half of Season Seven, hated, still hate
Second half of Season Seven, loved, still love

First half of Season Eight, hated, still hate
Second half of Season Eight, hated, still hate.

You can see why it was hard to choose for the poll because my reactions towards the different halves are so different, even if my reaction haven't changed that much. I think that's because like Granny Charmed, I was in my 40's when I first watched the show when it was first aired. Had I watched it in my teens or 20's, I think my reactions would've been totally different.

Note: Had the show ended with Piper and Leo's wedding, here's how it would've looked:

First half of Season One liked, still like (still wouldn't love Prue at the beginning)
Second half of Season One loved, still love

First half of Season Two loved, still love
Second half of Season Two loved, still loved (not knowing how Piper would treat Leo and how Leo would let her)

First half of Season Three loved, still loved (not knowing that my Phoebs would die and turn into PhoeME)

I really do wish that *that's* when it would've ended!

I love watching Season 3 and 4 the most because I feel like the conflict between the sisters and good and evil is at its height. Even though we lose Phoebe to PhoeMe and it is the start of Poor Pitiful Piper.

I love watching Season 1 and 2 because its the beginning and its when the sisterly bond is the best. 

I liked Season 5 but now I look back on it and hate everything post Centennial Charmed except Sense and Sensibility

I absolutely dislike Season 6 apart from a couple of episodes like the Power of Three Blondes, Love's a Witch, Little Monsters, Chris Crossed (which I think is the most overrated episode of the series), I Dream of Phoebe. I still enjoy watching any episode of Charmed but Season 6 just rubs me up the wrong way. 

Season 7 I dislike the beginning apart from Styx Feet Under and Witchness Protection. Love everything from Carpe Demon after to SWTWGoes.

Season 8 - Its such a hard one for me. I have to say I overall, don't mind it. Controversial I know. But I really like Paige and Henry and I do like Leo's storyline wrapped into the final battle. Billie and Christie could have been done better but at least the writing is more consistent than Season 6. HMC's acting is on point and I've now accepted Wyatt and Chris. I guess PhoeMe returning to Phoebe could have made all the difference in this season. That would have made it my 5th favourite season.

Yeah but there is no Liked Season 5 now disliked option.
