I don't know, I'm not that interested in that reboot idea. It would be more well received, if they dropped the Charmed name from it and turned it into a brand new series. Fans are not interested in a reboot on three strangers.

But maybe, attempt number 3 at rebooting Charmed or attempt number 4 (if we count this last rumour) will be a much better project in 2018 or 2019.

Hey, Esmeralda at about 3:30 on the first video here, someone asks Shannen who her favorite of the guys for Prue was. My french is terrible and I'm not sure the translation was helpful. Shannen took it as which of the actors would she want for herself most (at least based off her answer which was the actor's name not the characters. Anyway, I thought you would appreciate her answer on that.

Me either. I didn't like the ideas they had for the 70s series. I do wonder if the do redevelop it for next pilot season in 2018, what it would be like? But I can't see any of the Charmed cast signing on for a CW series, unless it were a 13 episode series and not 22 or 23, so we might get stuck with yet another reboot with new people.

As for one of the network's buzzed-about projects that ultimately didn't get picked up for this season, a reboot of the beloved Charmed, Pedowitz said he's still hopeful it will eventually make it to air, with Jane the Virgin's Jennie Urman as executive producer.

"It's in redevelopment," he said of bringing back the witchy series. "We're waiting to see Jennie Urman wants to come back with. She's busy with Jane right now…it's early in the development process, but we're redeveloping it and hopefully it will come out."

I also agree. Hopefully they come with something new. There is still time. I would rather watch a spin of with Julian, Billy and Charisma then 1700+ reboot!

The current idea is terrible and is unrelated to Charmed except in name. So they need to scrap it all and start from the beginning with any "ideas." and none of it should be called "Charmed."

*growl* Sounds like The CW is still more interested in their stupid 70's reboot that has nothing to do with the Halliwells than what Alyssa and Shannen had in mind. I still think that's real news but they're making it seem like fake news because the studio doesn't want to do it. *double growl*

You'd think that they could do something like what they planned just as a TV movie for a "special gift to the fans" for the 20 year anniversary next year... Alhough first to admit, those usually suck. After all, that's what Kern called 'Forever Crap', I mean'Forever Piper', I mean 'Forever Charmed'. But if they could keep him away from it, maybe it would be...

Will and Grace's return reboot series is undoing the series final and pretending the kids never happened in the future. Now if only Charmed could do the same. But I just don't think CBS would want that, after all the comics were forced to keep the Forever Charmed canon attached. But, when I heard that news about Will and Grace, I immediately thought of Charmed and Forever Charmed and how wonderful pretending the series final never happened would be for a reboot. But, I know it will never happen.

I hope the 20th anniversary has something for longtime fans to be excited about than a silly 70s reboot.

I don't know why dear they are really trying to get this show off the ground. When fans will not like it. *Sigh* Most likely the studios just don't want the original cast back, and as others have said, they would continue the story after Forever Charmed. After all, the comics wasn't allowed to erase Forever Charmed's flashforwards the same way this Will and Grace reboot is going to do with their series final. Funny how Will and Grace started and lasted the same time as Charmed, and is coming back this year. I guess Charmed fans are not as lucky.

Alyssa Milano Reveals the Status of a Charmed Reboot

"They were going to reboot it as a prequel. The script came in last year and they didn’t feel it was strong enough or held up to the integrity of the original, so they decided not to move ahead with it," she told the magazine.



Equally telling about the quality of the proposed reboot was Milano's simple personal verdict on the Charmed reboot falling flat in the preproduction phase: "They did the right thing." Damn.



Milano's additional comments indicate that along with the quality of the proposed reboot idea seemingly lacking, the show's other stars are just moving in different directions in regard to their careers right now. "We all said that we would do it, but nobody’s actually put that in motion," she explained. Prediction: Don't hold your breath over yet another promise of a Charmed reboot. Although The CW announced a revamped version would launch in 2018, it'll probably be left on the cutting room floor by the end of this year.

I think it is for the best. Maybe do a proper reboot in 10-20 years, when all the actresses are too old to come back and play the characters and enough time has passed that a reboot is possible. Also a few decades will have passed since the show ended.

Isn't CW interested in rebooting Sabrina the Teenage Witch anyways? So a Charmed show is dead now. But crazier things have happened, and we might get something.

I think that might be for the best, since by then I will actually be seen as the older crowd in my 40s or 50s if they waited 20-30 years. So all the older fans who saw the original will have enough distance from when they watched the original series. So that is the best time for a proper reboot. 

I could see Shannen or Holly playing the Grams. But a true reboot shouldn't copy or keep stories that were similar to the original. It should be very different, with only the names the same. 

Yes I heard about Sabrina. I think with a Sabrina series on the CW in the works, Charmed is officially dead on CW.

And if it's going to have a dark Buffy feel to it, I'm not looking forward to it, just like I wouldn't if they did something horrible like that to Charmed.
