I hear this was released on Netflix now.
Curious those who are planning to see it, what they think.
I did look over some reviews, and most loved it and the opening episode was well done. But because I heard this is on Netflix and because they got a two-season order before anything started filming - they don't have the same issues Charmed's reboot faced with the pilot. I'm sure they didn't have the typical pilot demands and that might be a blessing for Netflix shows.
I'll be following like the reboot, the reviews too.

Been watching for 3 hours and had to stop because got a headache from watching non-stop. But so far its really good. Reminds me of Stranger Things and good parts of Riverdale. Definitely gonna finish watching the whole season.

Yeah, I can understand when watching non-stop, I still do not get how people can watch an entire Netflix series in one sitting and finish it all in 24 hours. I'd get ill doing so, and I have to admit, to enjoying watching a series over a length of time, then the entire season in less than 48 hours.
I like pacing myself, so I can think about what happens next.
Have you been enjoying Sabrina, Cyma? Is the series easier to get into than the Charmed reboot? Has being on Netflix helped more than if it ended up on The CW like it originally was going to be?

Got to episode 4/5 before i needed sleep. I enjoy it. It is dark. The witches believe in Satan. (Take a drink everytime someone says "Praise Satan.")
Sabrina/Harvey OTP forever.
So far, I'm enjoying it. It's definitely not the 90s sitcom. It's dark. It's more satanic witches. But same character names. But if you're into that or accepting to watch that, do it. It's a fun take.
Gives me the witchy show I need right now.

Part of me was really hesitant about the very dark tone and witches including Sabrina's aunts and cousin having pledged their souls to Satan and considered it normal and not dangerous and the Spellman family has been doing it for generations. But then Sabrina ruined her dark baptism ceremony to sign away her soul resulting in being threatened and sued by Satan and summoned to stand trial. Her aunts also suffered consequences of their own due to Sabrina's actions which were sort of funny. And I found myself hooked to watch more. If CW had Sabrina I guess it would've had zero horror and over focused on high school, romance aspects and unecessary drama and conflict between characters in the name of character development.

Interesting. I'm glad you have loved it. Be interesting to see between Sabrina and Charmed which one lasts longer. Seems Sabrina is the winner and more loved than Charmed. I gather it would be more high school-based and ore romance like you said. Typical The CW. Makes me wonder how Charmed would be like if the reboot wound up on Netflix instead.

Gah. So happy it's not on the CW. Sabrina/Harvey got enough going on without them turning into a CW soap. And the feminist aspect is just right. From what I hear about Reboot, it's not subtle in any way. CAOS has S and co creating a club about women empowering and helping each other. And Harvey loves his friends and doesn't feel offended. It's nice.

That does sound very promising. I heard it got a two-season order in advance of filming. They have faith in it.
Looks like they did a better job with the way they handled it than the Charmed reboot. I wish this show well, I don't have Netflix, so I cannot check it out just yet. But I enjoy reading along with you all.

Let me get this straight. The witches in "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" receive their full magical powers . . . from making a deal with Satan by selling their souls when they turn 16? Did I get that wrong? And Wicca (or W.I.C.C.A.) is the acronym for Women’s Intersectional Cultural and Creative Association at Sabrina's high school?
Why would you wish well a show that you've never seen?

Maybe we would've gotten a continuation instead of a reboot if it was on Netflix. But if there was a reboot then they would've had the Halliwells and sisters Prue, Piper, Phoebe and Paige. Still don't get how CW can call this a reboot when its not about the Halliwell sisters. Looks like they did a better job with the way they handled it than the Charmed reboot. I wish this show well, I don't have Netflix, so I cannot check it out just yet. But I enjoy reading along with you all. If Netflix is available in your region, then there's a one month free trial through which you can watch the show.

I do think we might have gotten a continuation, even if it were just a series of a few movies like Gilmore Girls. Which I think the cast may have been up for. The term reboot is always used so loosely. If it wasn't even called Charmed, you can hardly say it was a reboot period.Interesting, I'll have to check it out.

I've only caught a few episodes. But I have to admit, I think it had a much better start than the Charmed reboot, but this is a Netflix show, so they didn't have to sell it to a Network. They already got picked up for two seasons ahead of even starting production.
I get why Salem doesn't talk, but it really was the one thing I was most excited about.
I feel the high school dramas are not as central, and its funny because the Charmed reboot characters are in college, but I that show has a younger teen feel than Sabrina who is actually in high school But being away from the CW helps.

I think Ambrose kind of takes the mantle of Salem's character.

Witches gain their full powers by selling their soul to Satan? That doesn't bother any of you? You have no problems with witches being portrayed in that manner? Hanging a black witch? Especially when the hanging of a black person can easily be a racially charged image, thanks to this country's history of lynching people of color?
I've only see a few episodes and already I'm put off by it.

I guess more freedom on streaming services means they can go all the way with freedom sometimes too far. Speaking of isn't this show set in the 50s or 60s, not present day. It doesn't look modern.

Saw this and had to share. Wouldn't it be fun to have the cast do a commentary for the whole season?

Speaking of isn't this show set in the 50s or 60s, not present day. It doesn't look modern. A delivery guy who I've seen on the Riverdale show delivered pizza to a character here. Ambrose has been seen using a laptop. And Sabrina mentioned how zombies running was a fairly new thing in movies. Yet the strange thing is everyone's attire looks not of this era. The telephone Spellmans are using isn't a cordless but an old rotary dial phone. Instead of using a smartphone to take revenge on the boys harassing Susie, Sabrina used an old camera. Sabrina and her friends read and research from books instead of burying their noses in their cellphones. I don't even recall seeing them even having a cellphone. It's like the internet, owning a laptop or cellphone doesn't matter to the townspeople at all My theory is that since witches reside in this town, they don't want a crazy amount of technology getting in and capturing something magical since exposure is bad for them. So they did something.
