I'm at a point where I'm willing to give the show a try (if it airs on Netflix or a channel I can access in the UK) if it ends up getting a season - right now, it's just the pilot that's been ordered, isn't it? I'm not expecting too much from the show, I just enjoy the supernatural genre, so even if it's nothing like Charmed, if they make a good watchable show out of it, then that's still a good thing.
Also, I keep noticing posts referring to audition videos. Has anyone got a link to these videos?

LOL, it's funny but it's been that way for me, too. Just when I read something I like, I read something I don't like. You're right - we'll have to wait for the trailer - and see who they choose for the third sister. That will probably tell us more than anything else.

Now keep in mind that we don't think any of these actually got the parts; we were looking more at what the script was saying so we'd have some idea of what the characters are like. Some audition videos for the reboot casting has leaked or been put up online. Obviously, don't expect any of these people to be cast dears, but it will give a good sense of the characters and learn a little more about the show. I haven't seen them all. But from what I did watch, it appears the sister's mother had passed away prior to the series and Harry will be the one to tell them they are witches. I have to say, I'm too high on Galvin and hoping that it's just a casting script and not what the character will be like or do in the series. Again, I'm trying to judge on what the script is saying and not the actors (who I doubt will be cast for having their video's leaked online)

So how old are the charmed sisters going to be? Watching these auditions makes it look like the show will be based in a college setting? Reminds me of “The Craft”
“Demon dogs tried to each my hair extensions!!”. That’s funny. I only remember seeing those once in the first season.

Youngest is 18. Middle is early-mid 20s. Eldest is mid-late 20s. I think we only have a specific age on one.

I know I've been pretty dead-silent about this topic... I've been wracking my brain over and over about this reboot. While I don't want it to happen, I don't like that it's happening, I don't support it... I will probably/maybe watch the pilot and be done with it. My gut tells me this is going to end up exactly like The Secret Circle did, unless they can make the Sunday slot successful.
Although, in other news, I saw on Twitter that someone tweeted Holly about how instead of rebooting the series with new sisters, they told her what they should be doing is continuing the show with the CO's offspring and Holly immediately agreed and Drew jumped on the continuation bandwagon, tagging Wes Ramsey in the series of tweets. I don't think he or any others have commented as of yet... Sighs, if only the reboot was with the future generations.

And I'm hoping they don't do that. Fuller and Ramsey are too old to be playing the Charmed Sons unless they play fathers to the next generation. And you do that, you're stuck with all of the problems from Classic Charmed.
And I truly don't think that's what CBS and The CW wants. They want something new and modern that will draw in millennials, not for fans of something almost 20 years old.
BUT MAYBE they'll do something like that for the anniversary. I'd be all for that IF it's not just about Piper's family - and it sounds like that's what Holly wants. We got that in 'Forever Crap, I mean Forever Piper, I mean Forever Charmed'. I DON'T want that for the anniversary! If either Shannen, Holly and Alyssa or Holly, Alyssa and Rose or (preferably) Shannen, Holly, Alyssa and Rose can't get along, I'd just as soon they not do anything.

I sadly truly don't think they will do anything with the originals, and the reason I'm saying that is for the last 5 years they have been trying so hard to get a reboot off the ground. If they really wanted a revival like Prison Break, The X Files or Will and Grace or next generation spin-off like Fuller House they would have done one already by now.
But I think it comes down to more getting the actresses involved and getting along enough to do it. They can fool me, and suddenly in the next few months do a reunion, but I don't think they will want to have a reboot and reunion happening at the same time. Nope, not going to happen.

I've been following the reboot journey from the start.
I remember they first tried to do one at CBS in 2013. Wasn't that version going to be a reboot using the four sisters named Prue, Piper, Phoebe and Paige? They seem to have gone through so many drafts and finally settled on doing a reboot with a new set of sisters.
But Charmed was one of my favorites and I'm not sure what this reboot is going to offer. Will they attempt to recapture the joy the series brought the older generation, or are they going to rebuild and give a different spin? Do something the original show never did.
And PLEASE I beg this show to do research on where its set. As a pharmaceutical sales rep and traveled for business, having been to San Francisco - boy did the show get the culture wrong. It was very offensive. As I found Charmed whenever they attempted different cultures.
I hope these new writers have properly researched wherever they are setting this series? Unless it's going to be a fictional town. But I take this to heart, just because of my work and life experiences with different cultures.

Fictional college town in Michigan. So a Midwestern take.
I'm always against a continuation. I hat the epilogue. TCS should have happened 10 years ago. Too late.

So we're getting a fictional college town. I hope they handle the Midwestern culture well, and not go for cliche.

I've been following this show since last year's news of a reboot. Last year was suppose to be a period drama. Reign is the only period drama that CW had and that one used a lot of sexed up teens story line back in S1 to not get heavily rejected by CW's usual audience. I can understand the CW's reluctance at another period drama since Reign has a small viewership compared to the other shows. When it landed a pilot order this year, I heard talks of filming in LA. Now that changed. It will now be filming in Vancouver. I expect it to have more special effects than the original show. The girl playing the youngest sister is Canadian so CW is really going for that Canadian tax breaks. They'll be filming in March so they really should announce the last 2 leads. Since this will be filming in Vancouver, we'll be able to get BTS pics/videos of the filming of the pilot. I remember lots of BTS videos/pics from the Flash back then.
By the way the Roswell reboot are using same names from the book except for Isabel which was changed to Isobel. They're now older in the reboot. Most are at least 27 y.o. I just pointing the difference in approach of both shows. That one won't be filming in Vancouver. Likely in Atlanta due to Plec.

By the way, welcome to the Cafe evegenia have fun here. I'm so thrilled dears that this reboot has meant more and more new members are joining the Cafe. Your not wrong dear. Which means they might be casting a few more Canadian people for the reboot. Because if it is filmed in Vancouver, they have to convince the cast to move if they hire people from LA for instance. Wasn't this why Alyssa Milano left Mistresses when production moved from LA to Vancouver. Might also be why anything with the original cast won't work even if they did get all get along, because LA might *not* be an option for filming like the original series was. Alyssa wouldn't want to go to Vancouver for instance like she did with her past show. That if they *ever* did a reunion, it would have to be in Atlanta at least. How many shows on The CW even still film in LA these days dears?

I was going through twitter today looking for charmed reboot updates and it’s amazing how much momentum has been gathered on #STOPCharmedReboot hashtag. Fans are not having it. They are really childish. If you don't want to watch it, just don't watch. But creating hashtags, spamming every articles/tweets about the reboot and harrassing the new cast members is just toxic behaviour and shouldn't be applaud. The new Charmed won't erase the memories and the love we have for the first show. Sure it would have been better to have a revival but let's be honest, the actresses don't get along with each other and have moved on except Holly. I just think that I grew up watching the show, it allowed me to be transported into a magical world. And it makes me happy to think that kids might grew up with this new show like I did. Because let's be honest again, the show didn't age well (I'm talking about CGI). And that's normal because it's a 20 years old show now ! Also I appreciate that the sisters are POC, that helps differentiate the Halliwell sisters to those new sisters and it's nice to have diverse and modern characters like the LGBT sister. Anyway, I'm new here so hello to everyone

Feel inclined to side with those who believe that this reboot should rebrand itself as an individual product as so much of the original material has been drastically altered. It should aspire to stand on its own merit, not take advantage of the name recognition that comes with Charmed.
