I'm of the belief that if you are completely satisfied, then there is no reason or need to utilize message boards. You just watch and enjoy.
The purpose, in my opinion, of forums is to discuss. To learn. To debate. To analyze. To learn. To listen to different opinions. To learn. To let your frustrations out.
If you love everything, it doesn't seem like a proper use of time. Or you want your opinions validated. That doesn't happen here, always.
As previously mentioned, the range of opinions have changed throughout the years by new members and same members. My thoughts appear to be in the current minority at the moment. It's frustrating, sure, but it's fascinating to see how things change.
I love Piper to death. I love Chris and Wyatt. I love Piper/Leo. As you know, these are the favorites around here. And it is OK.
To me, it's what makes The Cafe amazing and so long lasting.
And, remeber, we are talking about a show that premiered 20 years ago this year and has had no new episodes for more than a decade. Analysis is the only cure to keeping this show going for most of us.

Analysis is the only cure to keeping this show going for most of us. Except for the part of loving Piper to death (wish she'd died in 'Awakened' and stayed dead...that that's when they should've met Paige), loving Chris and Wyatt (wish Chris had been the evil son and Wyatt the good son) and loving Piper/Leo (think them as a couple is wonderful, but them as a married couple with children was one of the biggest mistakes made since Piper only loved the handyman, not the angel, just like PhoeME only loved the lawyer and not the demon), *nods* Exactly so. And because we've both felt that way from almost the start but both have remained good friends who have allowed the other their opposing opinion while both still remaining true, passionate fans who have remained active members after almost 20 years should prove our points.

Everyone has a right to their opinion, Es, don't forget that. Assasin is allowed to love Piper/Leo and I do too as well as Wyatt and Chris. Also charmerjosh, did Drasi brainwash you with hate or something? We need to call a Cupid here. Anyhoo, I agree with everyone. I love all of the sisters and all seasons except 6 and 8 (yes even season 7) but that doesn't mean I'll agree with everything. I like to point out things which I feel should have been done better. I like Cole too but because I liked him, I felt he should have stayed dead in S4, because S5 destroyed the character badly. I love S5 way more after Centennial charmed.

That why I liked this place, and so very glad I joined after being hesitant for so long. Isn't it fascinating to see people defend unpopular episodes or story arcs you may not like?

Yeah - I'm surprised to see no one here likes S7 though. I've been watching it and I really like how vulnerable Leo became seeing Chris die and Gideon betray him. They did really well with that.

I remember loving the second half, but it has been a while since I've seen S7. I'm glad you are having fun with your re-watch and liking it. I remember I really hated A Call to Arms, but that's mostly to do with how offensive they handled other cultures. But because of my job and interacting with many different people, I find that Charmed at times never handled different groups as best they did. Maybe you should consider opening up your own thread and letting us know what you think of S7. I know Es started one and it got moved to the 20th-anniversary board. I'd love to see more of your take on S7 in your re-watch.

Es, you and I have always had a great relationship. I think we're also longest members, way back to the ezboard days.
And what I love about us is our ability to listen to each other. Also, we love S2. Which has always been an underrated season.
I ha e not rewatched Chamred in years and years. So I'm really happy to have an excuse to jumpstart it. It will be interesting to see what changes for me.
I started Charmed in S1, when I was 9. My parents had just gotten divorce and a lot of crappy things happened in real life during the course of the show's run. So it definitely influenced me. A new outlook will be interedting for me (and here).

Es, you and I have always had a great relationship. I think we're also longest members, way back to the ezboard days. Yeah, I don't think anyone else is left from the the ezBoard days. I've wondered if the reboot might bring some of those older members back. That would be nice. Hehehehehe, I hadn't considered the fact that there is actually something we agree on - although not totally since I'm guessing you like the triangle a lot more than I do. I'll bet I still wish Piper had chosen Dan if he could've learned about magic the way Henry did (or better, she died during 'Awakened' and stayed dead while we discovered Paige at that point - mainly because I don't think it would've gone on beyond S4), while you're glad she chose Leo (and alive through the entire series). But I accept that you feel that way the way you accept the way I feel and thanks to that, we're still friends. I'm definitely curious. And if the board decides to watch some of the episodes I haven't re-watched in years, I'm going to watch them, too, just to see if my reaction has changed, while still doing my own reverse one. There are some episodes that I haven't watched since the first time they were aired, so those are the ones that I'm most interested in re-watching if the board decides to re-watch them. I didn't realize that it helped you through so much, so I'm so glad it did. It's funny because you'll be about the same age now that I was when I first started watching (I was 45, so a bit older, but a lot closer than we were at that point) So I'm definitely curious to see if our reactions change.

I'm pretty certain I wouldn't have joined the Cafe or even bothered with reading Charmed posts or fanfics had the later seasons of Charmed been to my liking. There also wouldn't be this strong burning passion which was born out of frustration. And of course, no passion also means no Charmed fanfic writing from me. But most of all, never knowing other Charmed fans and their feelings and ideas about the show. So crazily, Brad Kern ruining Charmed actually turned out to be a good thing too? O.o Bringing us all together and stuff. I'm so with you cyma. I wouldn't have attempted my hand at a fanfic in the first place, and wouldn't have stayed at this Cafe. If it was just a forum like some I know, where the only threads are just listing your likes and games, and no in-depth discussion - I would have barely been posting at all or left. Part of the reason I keep coming back here, and why I made friends with people here even if we don't share the same views all the time, we still share the same love for Charmed just in a different way, because we have different opinions. Maybe your right and Brad Kern did do something by ruining Charmed for some, it brought us all together at this forum and kept the forum going strong still after 12 years after the show ended.

I love this place and am so glad I fought it all those years ago and have been a member this long having the privilege to talk and know so many members obviously.
At the time I joined I was dealing with self confidence issues and the lady who taught my group told us if we were passionate about something we should focus on it.
I was watching Charmed then and had been dabbling with the idea of whether to write fanfiction or not which I'd not done before so finding the Cafe gave me an outlet to do it amongst other places that I only used to do not really being a member till years later when starting to post pictures, videos and comments.
Like other members being a fan comes in many shapes and forms from creating fan art to stories and videos to reading comics books and owning merchandise or DVD's.
We all respect each others opinions and enjoy opposing comments which keep thread's alive not dead and buried.
And some people aren't active as others preferring to read posts than comment others real life getting in the way but no matter why or how we are all fans here who have a passion for something which we enjoy sharing.

But at the same time Ive seen many instances of thinly veiled cattiness between members here over storylines ect. The tension gets thick in here sometimes and I almost left because of it.

Cool to know that there's another one of us former ezBoarders who's still here. There's others, of course, who are members but who haven't been around recently - my memory's just not as good as it used to be to remember when people joined. Hopefully the reboot will bring them back. Ah, yes. Good times. Good boards. Those were the days. Amen!

This hate comes out of a place of love. I hate abuse and torture of animals because I love animals. I hate corruption, terrorism and greed, because it's destroying my country. And I love my country so much that it physically hurts to see it being hurt. I hate the direction Charmed took in the later seasons because I loved Charmed so much in the earlier seasons. And didn't you make this thread judging us of not being fans because you were frustrated and hated the negativity? Where exactly did your hate and frustration come from? The Demon of Hate? Nah. More like Cupid's arrow or ring Which means you love Charmed. You really passionately, love Charmed. Aww.... If you haven't figured it out by the posts before me, everyone else is crazy in love, passionate to the point of obsession for Charmed as well. Conflict, tension and negativity are inevitable when many fans holding completely different ideas and opinions about a show all get together in one place. However, it's exactly these same conflicting ideas and opinions which ultimately results in completely fresh and brand new ideas and perspectives about the show! Something which otherwise would never have been possible for me had I simply been exclusively hanging around fans who shared my views on Charmed. But respect, respect and more respect are the key ingredient for the magic to happen between two and more people who each possess a completely different perspective coming together to share their thoughts and feelings with each other. Could NOT agree more if I tried. This is the reason why the Cafe has continued for as long as we have. We respect your love of all the episodes and all of the seasons, but we hope you can do the same with those of us whose love for the show is so passionate that we can accept its faults and wish that it was better and try to figure ways of making it better - for a lot of us, the biggest fun of being a member of the Cafe. I look forward to coming to the Cafe every day, just imagining the fun I'll have of sharing my love with passionate fans who are just as passionate about the show as I am, even after all this time. In your words, *nods* this is me liking everything...

Plus with seasons such as S6 and S8, can you really blame us? I was just watching the last two episodes of S8 and it felt so darn disney-ish and I'm beginning to understand why Esmeralda calls it Forever Piper but even that is bad...I mean I like Piper and Leo but this season was so not needed. They could have just rewritten the S7 ending and had this same ending, introducing Henry and Coop in the previous season. Gods I'll be so happy if at least the finale of Charmed is declared non-canon. I don't feel that they're going to declare the finale of Charmed non-canon, if only because I feel that the reboot is acting as if the original show doesn't have any bearing on it at all. Different universe entirely, if you will. That's true, this is a whole new series and nothing connected with Charmed. Now to declare the finale non-canon dear, they would need to do what Will and Grace I believe did for its revival series where they ignored the finale as non-canon and continued Season 9, 12 years later ignoring the flashforwards. But obviously, that will not ever happen now, once the reboot happens, that means any chance of a revival with the original cast dears is over.

In fact, that’s one of my favourite ideas for my own Dream Series. The girls’ motivation for enacting Utopia would’ve felt more believable, and less selfish, in Season 5 as a direct result of the pain and trauma felt from Prue’s and Cole’s deaths and battling the Source. Also, Piper would be hyper-anxious whilst pregnant and eager to bring her child into the best world possible

Reminds me of a series we were working on at a different site where we found it better to mix up the seasons: Season Five: The Avatars (both S6 and S7) Season Six: Billie Season Seven: Chris Season Eight: Zankou.
