I dont know if I have written this before but it would have been great if there was a gender-roles reversal
There could be male witches (not whitelighters) - who have healing powers or are teachers of magic or have passive powers like sensing and premonition, reading thoughts
Female witches have physical or fighting powers and the ones that fought the battles.
Leo being a witch from another coven would have been great. Piper dating Leo would be far less complicated

Maybe he belonged to the same coven from the first episode where Serena died.

Maybe he belonged to the same coven from the first episode where Serena died. That would be cool if Serena was Leo's sister - it also ads to the sisterly-dynamic of the show as well. If I had the chance to make a reboot with different characters: 1) No whitelighters - just male witches that have passive powers, e.g. healing or sauth sayers or exceptional potion making skills and the females are the fighters. Not evil witches - bad witches turn into warlocks. 2) Exposure - Magic is immediately cleaned up and a mortal only finds out about magic when they fall in love with a witch mutually. 3) No Messey clean up. A good witch is a clean witch. When mess is created because of attacks, when a witch starts or has the intent on cleaning up (e.g. with a broomstick) and performing mindfulness and calming their breath - the mess starts to clean itself. 4) Personal Gain - witches can impart good luck on those who are down on their luck OR when people interact with them, their positivity or mental health gets better. Sort of like muses and leprechauns. Or a witch has a particular type of influence e.g. love, happiness, peace, anti-anxiety. A witch deals with the consequences of personal gain - e.g. a lesson to the spell. There is a difference between a Truth Spell and Making money with magic.
