That's okay, we're all different. I know fantasy and supernatural shows are not your things, and if I'm not mistaken you don't like to be scared. And many of The CW shows or former The WB shows, wouldn't be your thing. Maybe if you were as young as many of us were in the 90s.
It is a good thing we have this board for those who care about Classic Charmed, funny I don't see or have come across any forums for the reboot (or rip-off as you call it).
Yeah, it's funny about that. They want to #MeToo to get the buzz, but stil have males in it. I'm surprised their whitelighter wasn't a female. They have given some focus to Parker (Nu-Cole) and his family, father, mother, and brother. I'm not that interested in this plotline. We really should be getting ourselves familar with these new sisters. Classic Charmed allowed us that in S1, this one has jumped straight to S3/S4 right away.
The pacing is an issue. I like things to progress at a decent pace.
Yeah, they have many problems that Classic Charmed faced, and they just do not know what they want to do with the fathers. They clearly don't have a true plan mapped out. That really didn't make me be shocked as I'm sure the writers wanted, and just left me confused. Since so many episodes, I was left wondering who they are talking about when they mention a father and which father is whose when a name is mentioned.
When I first heard about the show, I was wondering if the half-sister's father was a warlock or demon. Once she was said to have darkness in her, I just knew he had to be one. But now, that is not the case.
I really did get a Giles vibe off Harry, and I do like they changed the Elders to be living older witches. I just don't get how whitelighters fit into this, it makes the Elders out to be controlling people when they take away a whitelighters memory of their former life and where do they get power to make them immortal when the Elders are not. If they just let Harry not be a whitelighter but some adviser, that might have worked better.
I'm sure they are going to be that way. I'll see how I feel in the second half of S1, since it appears they are slowing down the plot, since they got ordered a full season. Next weeks, looks like a standalone episode.
Thanks, I hope you and others who are not watching, can find something to enjoy or at least follow it through our eyes and reviews.
That sounds very cool, that you did all of that. I remember that thread that inspired it. That does sound familiar to me, but I'll have to check out more in the threads to be sure.
I've seen the S1 re-watch, It is so nice to see how active this board has become and that members are doing a full re-watch. I've seen that on other forums, but them people lose interest. I hope it doesn't here, and you go through most of the series. I watched the first episode for the anniversary, but haven't watched more episodes. I might see if I can do it again, just depend.
That sounds so cool that she managed to combine all of those episodes into a Charmed: ReImagined.
The best way to catch up with Elemental Charmed is to just read the episodes. They're here.
Yeah, I think the younger generation is more interested in social media and talking about the rip-off there than on message boards. But I'm so glad there's enough of us here who still enjoy the extra characters you get in message boards and the fact that you can fit stuff like fanfics on it.
And, yes, you're right - I don't like to be scared, and as the CGI gets more and more realistic the more they scare me! Give me cartoon violence that I KNOW is fake ANY day!
That is too bad, because you can't really discuss stuff in-depth with a limit of characters, and you can't discuss or do fanfics. Oh well, I'm just glad I grew up in the age when message boards were around before social media. I still remember when I first joined one way back in 2001, when I was about 13 I think.
I can see how that might be worse, especially when CGI is getting to the point where it looks way more real. Speaking of cartoon violence, I was so shocked by just how graphic Japanese animated shows are, especially with how toned down the English dub versions make them. It is too bad Charmed never got an animated series, even a reboot where say Prue never died, they'd have been able to get away with using the voices and making everyone look like 2001.
