I really want to show my 7 year old niece an episode of Charmed.
But I am wondering which episode I can show her that doesn't have as much violence and sexual content.
Any ideas?

'Secrets and Guys' (Warlock/Demon-Free Episode, only violence is Max's father being shot but healed by Leo) 'That 70s Episode' 'Heartbreak City' 'Just Harried' (Another demon/warlock free episode, well except Cole at the wedding) 'The Painted World' (Not too violent with them stuck in a painting) 'Nymphs Just Wanna Have Fun' (not a popular episode but not violent) 'A Knight to Remember' (Yeah that is a good pick rebooted) 'Size Matters' 'Trial By Magic'

The first one that came to my mind is one of my favorites: 'That Seventies Episode' I think your niece would enjoy the younger kids, especially if you tell her the young actors were all 8, so right about her age. There's a bit of violence, but I'll bet by the time you get to Nicholas' vanquishment she'll be glad to see it!
For the same reason, she might like 'Once Upon a Time' with the young girl and the fairy. Again, it might be a bit too violent, but I think she might enjoy it.
You know your niece better than we do - what she can take and what she can't. I'd suggest re-watching these suggestions before you share them with her and see if you think they'd fit or not.

'That Seventies Episode' is perfect to show her.
But as Es said, you know your niece better than us, so you know what she might like or not.
I look forward to what you decide you do, and how it goes. Keep us updated.

My first thought is Once Upon A Time because of the litte girl, Kate, and Thisle the fairy.
I got into the show when I was 9, so hard to say what's family friendly because I watched at a younger age.

Nice pics team!
I think I'll pic That 70's Show or Once Upon a Time. Happily Ever After could be quite good too!
Just thought about how A Knight to Remember starts off with Paige and Glen in bed.
Magic Hour is a cute episode too!

I'll try to list one episode, from each season. To keep all the seasons fair. Also, IK this is an old thread, but it's still a fun topic to discuss what episodes are exactly "family friendly".
Season One Episode 17 "That 70's Episode": As much as I don't like this episode, personally, it's one of the least violent episodes. It might be "scary" at the start, but it all calms down, after the sisters time travel back in time.
Season Two Episode 22 "Be Careful What You Witch For": OK, IK there's like a minor "sexualized" moment between Teen Prue and the Dragon Warlock (not to mention the "you don't need Dick" quote, along with the "scary" Dragon Warlock), however it's very brief. Most of the episode is quite comical because of the genie. Not to mention, it's not that violent of an episode.
I almost chose Episode 11 "Reckless Abandon" because of the baby but because of the scary ghost and how "violent" the ghost was...hard to say, but I'll have it as an "Honorable Mention". Especially since in "Be Careful What You Witch For", Teen Prue dies, anyway, but it's not as torturous as "Reckless Abandon", but I digress. Also, IMHO.
Season Three Episode 3 "Once Upon a Time": While this has "scary" trolls (and, a "scary" demon via Cole), it's still an episode for a "younger" mentality. I mean, I've watched some pretty "dark and edgy" cartoons, when I was younger, and this episode matches that same atmosphere. I feel like this episode would fair well to a family dynamic atmosphere. Just skip Piper's speech. Far as I can remember, it's not that violent of an episode. Just "scary images".
Season Four (this season is probably not as "family-friendly", as other seasons, it's pretty difficult to find one that's not "too scary" nor "violent" especially in a show not afraid to get a little dicey with its "violence") Episode 14 "The Three Faces of Phoebe": While "old Phoebe" tells present Phoebe to stop "dressing like a 'tramp'", it's a brief moment. There's a "little Phoebe", in this episode, as well, and this episode shows Cole protecting her (a child). Sure, "little Phoebe" calls him "cute" or something, there's not much happening, in this episode other than the "violence". Like I said, this season was the hardest to pick a "Family-Friendly" episode from.
MAYBE "Lost and Bound", MAYBE.
Season Five (I feel like there's a lot of "family-friendly" episodes in S5-S6, but we can't escape the "violence" unfortunately) Episode 3 "Happily Ever After": Ignoring Phoebe's horrendous over-sexualized "Cinderella Dress", for the most part, this is like one of the show's least "violent" episodes, there is. Not to mention, it's about Fairy Tales! Also, it's funny! Piper does cuss, though, so IDK how you feel about language, but you can always skip that part. To be fair, original fairy tales were a lot more violent than what this episode showed us LOL
Season Six (while I still believe S6 can be "family-friendly", we have to watch out for their over-sexualization which is what I'm mainly focusing on. There's no escape from the "violence", unfortunately) Episode 8 "Sword and the City": I don't think this episode is all that violent, personally. The Fairy Tale creatures make a comeback. Piper does share a kiss (but like, even Disney movies shows kissing, so it's not like this episode is over-sexualizing a kiss). While people are dying in this episode, it's an homage to the "Sword in the Stone" story.
Season Seven Episode 16 "The Seven Year Witch": I think Leo gets his memories of him in the war, briefly, other than that...this episode isn't all that violent nor sexualized. Piper vanquishes some "scary monsters", in the beginning, but that's about it. Piper may cuss in this episode, but I can't recall. But, yeah, I think this episode (especially with Drake) is pretty "light-hearted". Might be a little "boring" 'cause it's all talking but...for the most part...it kind of fits with the description, you're looking for.
Season Eight (this season is a little fuzzy for me, so I may list an episode that might hint towards sex or something, and I apologize for that) Episode 22 "Forever Charmed": I do know Piper time travels to her mom "doing it" (this can be skipped), if you want. Chris & Wyatt do cuss, but Grams DOES correct them about their language. In general this episode isn't too "violent". Just rehashes what happened prior. OFC, there's the final vanquish, and Billie killing her own sister, but we see Billie be extremely distraught over it. All in all, it DOES showcase a family-dynamic atmosphere especially towards the end. So, it's up to you.
I still say S5E3 "Happily Ever After" is the best pick merely because it's an homage to fairy tales. All my opinion, OFC.
EDIT: Amazon Prime rates "Happily Ever After" as PG (which is fair), so that's up to you.

EDIT: Amazon Prime rates "Happily Ever After" as PG (which is fair), so that's up to you. Hey Thanks for this. Charmed isn't available on Amazon Prime in NZ. I wonder where I could get the PG ratings from for the series so I can watch Charmed with my 10 year old niece. I really want to show my 7 year old niece an episode of Charmed. But I am wondering which episodes I can show her that doesn't have as much violence and sexual content. Any ideas? My niece is now 10.5 years old and on Saturday afternoon, she came over and we watched '5x03 Happily Ever After'. This is the first Charmed episode she watched and she absolutely loved it! She wanted to watch more but I could def not watch the following episode 5x04 Siren Song with her - or her mother would kill me. Questions she asked - 'Why does Paige not know Grams and doesn't want to hug her' (I feel like I've already spoiled the first 3 seasons for her now!) and 'Why does Cinderella's dress have a curtain in front of it?'. She loves fairytales and Disney and although I don't like watching this episode - I actually quite enjoyed everything about it a part from Cole who didn't need to be in it. She thought it was cool how Grams could come back. My Dad (her granddad) even watched a bit and loved Grams in it - he said - she is very BeWtiched - then my sister asking you mean the band B*Witched? and Dad and I laughed! I can't tell you how much joy she had when Piper was offered to wear Dorothy's slippers to get out of the Fairytale fortress. I love how she really wants to watch more! So I am interested in showing her 1x01 Something Wicca This Way Comes - as the violence is not too explicit (the stabbing is quite subtle) and there is only a kiss between Jeremey and Piper. So I am fine with that. But I am wondering which episodes I should skip because of the violent and sexual content that my sister would not approving her kid to watch but not enough to miss out on key storylines. I have bolded some below. Do you think you could help? "Something Wicca This Way Comes" "I've Got You Under My Skin" --> a feel a little to sexual with Prue/Andy and Javna/Phoebe"Thank You for Not Morphing" "Dead Man Dating" - I think Piper and Mark are done tastefully"Dream Sorcerer" --> a little to sexually abusive and seductive"The Wedding from Hell" (I almost want to skip this episode all together)"The Fourth Sister" "The Truth Is Out There… and It Hurts" "The Witch Is Back" "Wicca Envy" --> Just fast forward the beginning with Piper and Leo?"Feats of Clay" --> Phoebe and Clay getting it on..."The Wendigo" "From Fear to Eternity" "Secrets and Guys" "Is There a Woogy in the House?" "Which Prue Is It, Anyway?" "That '70s Episode" "When Bad Warlocks Turn Good" "Out of Sight" "The Power of Two" "Love Hurts" "Déjà Vu All Over Again" Any advice on which ones to skip? Also watching Charmed remastered on a great TV makes the seasons age quite well. You would only think 5x03 was 5 years ago.

Update - showed 10 year old niece (now begging to watch more episodes) One Upon a Time.
Again an episode I did not like very much but enjoyed. Just started the episode 2.5 mins late to avoid the Piper and Leo kiss.
Next Up is All Halliwell's Eve - one of the greatest eps and with no sexual content at all.
I chose this because my 10 year old niece is very interested in the sisters and how they got their magic.
After this I think I will head to That 70's Episode. And then its a toss up between Something Wicca This Way Comes (which is pretty violent) and A Painted World.
After watching 'Happily Ever After' as the first episode followed by 'Once Upon A Time' - my niece couldn't help put ask 'Where is Paige, why wasn't Prue in the first episode we saw?'! (Argh when she finds out!)

Hey Thanks for this. Charmed isn't available on Amazon Prime in NZ. I wonder where I could get the PG ratings from for the series so I can watch Charmed with my 10 year old niece. I'd be wary, even if it is rated "PG". It really is dependent on the site and your judgement. IMDB generalized Charmed as " TV-14". However, the only episodes to surpass the "PG" rating (according to IMDB) is S1E9 "The Witch is Back" (PG-13) & S1E12 "The Wendigo" (TV-14). Every episode (outside of these two) is "TV-PG" (according to IMDB, I just checked). Sorry, I don't find S1E5 "Dream Sorcerer" to be a "PG" episode, but that's just me. I'm (also) shockingly surprised to see IMDB rate S6E4 "The Power of Three Blondes" as " TV-G" Amazon Prime only rates S1 as "TV-14". So, ALL of S1 (according to Amazon Prime) is "TV-14", to them. The rest of the series, from S2-S8 is "TV-PG" including S6E4 "The Power of Three Blondes". Amazon Prime combines all of the "Pt 1 & Pt 2" episodes as "one episode", so you're going to see my " Power of Three Blondes" as "episode 3" along with being called "Power of Three Blondies" LOL. Peacock rates Charmed, as a whole, as " TV-PG". And, "Common Sense Media" suggests this show to be for those 14+. I tend to agree with that. This series is meant for 14+. There are the occasional episodes that are not as sexual and/or violent and can be viewed by those younger than 14, but that's why we're here

But I am wondering which episodes I should skip because of the violent and sexual content that my sister would not approving her kid to watch but not enough to miss out on key storylines. I have bolded some below. Do you think you could help? "Something Wicca This Way Comes" I do think this episode should be OK. It's on the same level as Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets, IMO. It may be slightly more violent than HP 'cause a woman dies, and Jeremy can be scary, but even in HP, there is death (may not be in this film, in particular) and is scary. The only thing that's different between this episode and HP is the episode does swear. That's something for you decide. "I've Got You Under My Skin" --> a feel a little to sexual with Prue/Andy and Javna/Phoebe Aside from the sexual content, this episode, like the pilot (and HP), has its scary elements. If you want to skip through the sexual content, that's up to you. I wouldn't be upset, if you skip this episode LOL "Thank You for Not Morphing" Not as scary as the first two episodes but can be. IDK how you feel about Victor being topless and having a massage then hugging his daughter (Phoebe), that way...but, it's up to you ;P "Dead Man Dating" - I think Piper and Mark are done tastefullyWhile I agree, my worry about this episode isn't about "scary content" nor "sexual content" but gang violence, and how too real it is. Again, up to you. "Dream Sorcerer" --> a little to sexually abusive and seductive Totally agree. I don't see how this episode is "TV-PG", at all. I think only Amazon got this right, with its "TV-14" rating. "The Wedding from Hell" (I almost want to skip this episode all together)Not to mention the sexual content with the stripper, at Jade's Bachelorette party. "The Fourth Sister" "The Truth Is Out There… and It Hurts" I think both of these episodes are on the same "scariness" level as Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets. Maybe a little less. I'd be wary about the sexually abusive content between Matthew Tate & Melinda Warren, along with Rex & Hanna. IMDB does rate this as "PG-13". It's one of its "higher rated" episodes, on its site. "Wicca Envy" --> Just fast forward the beginning with Piper and Leo?And to watch out for Rex's abuse of his Astral Projection on Hannah to "disrobe", for him. He even "checks out" Prue's chest, as well. "Feats of Clay" --> Phoebe and Clay getting it on... Pretty much the only "not family friendly" part, of the episode. Agent Fallon does try to seduce Andy. She even talks about sex with him, and Billy does smoke, so IDK how you feel about cigarettes. Also, after Piper is no longer a Wendigo, she's naked, even though we didn't see it, but it's alluded. IMDB rates this the "highest" rating at "TV-14". There is a portion of the episode, where Phoebe has to decide to lie about her boss' affair. As a child of a cheating mother, who took me out on her affairs, this is psychologically damaging but OFC, it is up to you. Gang violence and too real. I wouldn't watch this with a young one, but that's just me. "Is There a Woogy in the House?" Phoebe does seduce in front of the camera, while she's ordering a pizza, on the phone. And, she does try to seduce Andy. But, OFC, these can be skipped. "Which Prue Is It, Anyway?" Blue Sweater Prue does eat food, seductively, at Quake and uses seductive body language, throughout the episode. I still stand by this episode being the safest. It does touch on smoking while pregnant, but it's not visible, and Phoebe does mention not to do it. And, OFC, the minor fighting with Nikolas. "When Bad Warlocks Turn Good" Prue & Brendan do kiss, but it's not like Phoebe & Clay in S1E11 "Feats of Clay". It's subtle, and she walks away. Scary, but it's on the same level as Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets. A bit too violent (but, it can be skipped) 'cause Jackson Ward just kept stabbing the Judge, over and over, again. It's a bit much a little violent, but that's up to you. Like Dream Sorcerer, a little too abusive. This episode is supposed to symbolize a domestic abusive relationship (between Alec & Daisy). Not an episode I'd have a 10 year old watch, personally. Can work. It's just mostly scary and sad. I mean, I cried at Mufasa's death, in the Lion King, so... Any advice on which ones to skip? Hope that helps!

I forgot, Jeremy does read his fortune cookie to make a sexual joke about "being on top". And, Prue & Phoebe arguing about if Phoebe "touched" Roger. "The Fourth Sister" "The Truth Is Out There… and It Hurts" I think both of these episodes are on the same "scariness" level as Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets. Maybe a little less. I forgot that "The Fourth Sister" does talk about Phoebe's breasts. May want to fast forward that conversation. EDIT:I'd be wary about the sexually abusive content between Matthew Tate & Melinda Warren, along with Rex & Hanna. IMDB does rate this as "PG-13". It's one of its "higher rated" episodes, on its site. And, Matthew Tate was changing (kinda) in front of Hannah, and there's obvious sexual tension going on there. And, I think Rex is abusive towards Hannah in S1E8 "The Truth is Out There...and it Hurts", as well. Keep an eye out, for when they're on screen. Rex is definitely abusive towards Hannah, in many episodes.

Season TwoEpisode 22 "Be Careful What You Witch For": OK, IK there's like a minor "sexualized" moment between Teen Prue and the Dragon Warlock (not to mention the "you don't need Dick" quote, along with the "scary" Dragon Warlock), however it's very brief. Also, IMHO. After re-watching the S2 finale, I've changed my mind. It's a little too inappropriate, IMO. As funny as some of the scenes are, it's a lot of inappropriate jokes. So, I took the time to think about it, and IK this episode I'm about to name kinda has some swearing and can be kinda scary, it's not as inappropriate. I think the better episode would actually be S2E18 "Chick Flick". IK there's some sexual inappropriate jokes in Chick Flick but not as obvious as the S2 finale.

Hey thanks for these AaeiynAfter watching Season 5' Happily Ever After and then Once Upon A Time - I've gone with this order 47. 3-3 19 Oct 00 Once Upon a Time (Skipped the Piper and Leo Kiss and nightmare at the beginning) 48. 3-4 26 Oct 00 All Halliwell's Eve (Skipping the hanging of the sisters) 49. 3-5 02 Nov 00 Sight Unseen (Elder's watching Piper and Leo be intimate and the stalker is too intense) 50. 3-6 09 Nov 00 Primrose Empath (Too much Phoebe/Cole kissing)51. 3-7 16 Nov 00 Power Outage (I'm going to fast forward this episode to Piper being infected, the sisters fight, Phoebe leaving Coles apartment and the Belthazor Battle) 52. 3-8 14 Dec 00 Sleuthing with the Enemy (After watching myself its not too bad, and you have to watch some of the previous episode to understand this one) 53. 3-9 11 Jan 01 Coyote Piper
54. 3-10 18 Jan 01 We All Scream for Ice Cream (This one is a fun one for kids, very Harry Potter and leads into Victor) 55. 3-11 25 Jan 01 Blinded by the Whitelighter (Ames's attacks a pretty intense) 56. 3-12 02 Feb 01 Wrestling with Demons (After rewatching its not too bad and my niece does like WWE, just have to skip the virginity's quote by Phoebe) 57. 3-13 08 Feb 01 Bride and Gloom
58. 3-14 15 Feb 01 The Good, the Bad and the Cursed (Just with some Parental guidance towards the end with the whipping) 59. 3-15 22 Feb 01 Just Harried (fast forwarding the Prue intimate scenes with her boyf - esp when she is on top of him) 60. 3-16 15 Mar 01 Death Takes a Halliwell
61. 3-17 22 Mar 01 Pre-Witched (I am going to stop here but fast forward the Piper and Leo in the bathroom)

On the whole Charmed is quite wholesome but it can be very sexual as well.
