Hey all! I hope everyone is doing well. I have not posted for a moment, but I wanted to turn to you all for some books I am looking for!
I really want to read all of the Charmed novels from the 90s and early 2000s. Does anyone have a way I can get my hands on these? Any non obvious pointers (like ebay, or amazon) would be super helpful!
Thanks all, and blessed be.

Have you ever tried second hand book stores or thrift stores. You'll be surprised what you could find from these places. Even if it is a bit of pot luck finding them mind you.
The only suggestion off the top of my head than eBay or Amazon.
I'm sure someone here might have other suggestions.

Thrift and second-hand stores are wonderful dears. I often browse these stores myself, but because my community center also has a Salvation Army thrift store/op close by, I have browsed here many times. I have caught some books, and yes, I have seen the Charmed novels, but it is just luck finding what you are after. Again, no guarantees, unless you do a thrift store tour looking for these. If you don't want the obvious places like eBay and Amazon, I'd try my luck at second-hand book stores. Better than having to pay to ship them. I know of this site: www.thriftbooks.com/I wished they re-released the Charmed novels as Ebooks, as my granddaughter once told me some old novel series based on shows got this. I don't think Charmed has, apart from the two Ebooks they released based on the comics. I'm assuming you are after the novels featuring Prue since you mentioned ones form the 90s and early 2000s.

Thanks for the tips, y'all!
I am looking basically for all of them. Strangely enough, the ones that feature Prue (the older ones) seem much easier to come by. I feel like since the show was more popular when it first came out those novels were more in circulation.
I found "As Puck Would Have It", a Charmed novel written by Paul Ruditis (Charmed comics) and takes place between the events of 6x06 and 6x13.
I have also ordered three of the cheaper ones on Amazon:
"Voodoo Moon" (Season One) "Whispers from the Past" (Season Two) "Mystic Knoll" (Season Five)
I am interested to see which timeline is better. Although most agree the earlier seasons were better, most also agree that Paul Ruditis is great, who seems to have written a lot of the books later in the shows timeline.
I will post fun little reviews once I receive/read them!

I really love the ones you ordered, especially 'Whispers From the Past'. A novel I love so much, yes it has a few inconsistencies, but of course, Charmed was filled with them, so what else is new.
Paul Rudits is a great writer, I love hid novels.
It is pretty hard to truly see where each novel is placed, because sometimes they were written ahead of time, before stuff happened in the series, so some may have some plot-holes. But I have to admit, to loving the way they handle mythology like the greek gods and such better than the series.
I liked the Paige era novels, and found them more interesting and wished half of these replaced episodes on the show.

Hi everyone - I recently rewatched Charmed during quarantine, and I've fallen into the Phoebe/Cole downward spiral again (completely ignoring S5). I was wondering if there are any novel recommendations where they are featured (in a positive light please if I wanted to torture myself I'd just watch S5).
From reading some reviews in Goodreads and Amazon, I gathered they are featured heavily in Truth and Consequences by Cameron Dokey which I already hunted down in Ebay LOL. Anyway I'm looking for other suggestions, thank you.
PS. Does anyone know why the novel Social Medium was cancelled? Was it because of the reboot? I found that this (incomplete) trilogy was the only one available in ebook.

Oh, yes, if you're a Phole fan, 'Truth & Consequence' is definitely the one to get!
From what I've read, Pat Shand's ebooks didn't sell as well as Paul Ruditis' did and that's why his 'Social Medium' was cancelled. Also, there was another set of comics out that also didn't do well. I think that has more to do with it being canceled than the rip-off.

Funny thing. Pat never got any ebooks released at all.
Only the two Paul did, the War on Witches and Let Gorgons Be Gorgons which both came out in 2015 and 2016 were releaaed. Pat's Social Medium had gotten delayed three times until it was finally unpublished.
I'm wondering if after the backlash Pat got with the S10 comics and poor sales with the other comics and maybe they didn't like the direction Pat was taking with the ebooks. They just ended them.
I wonder if they'll ever revive them. I know other popular shows (like Buffy or Xena) have gotten multiple new comic runs and or new novels over the years.
Charmed (Classic Charmed not the ripoff) has a big following. I hope so.
Maybe they'll go back to the earlier seasons and do some with Prue this time.
As for other novel suggestions. Although I can suggest more that are not Phoebe/Cole heavy. But you can check out reviews. But Mist and Stone and Dark Vengeance are ones I liked. But because your a Phoebe/Cole fan, I don't think you'll like them as much as Paige had a pretty big part in those.
But definitely Truth and Consequences is the best one to start with since your a Phoebe/Cole fan.
Also the short stories Seasons of the Witch has a collection of holiday themed stories set during S4. With a focus on each sister in each of the three storie. With one on Phoebe and yes Cole is in it with some focus on them.
Don't bother with Luck Be a Lady as it's set in S5 and is totally the Phoebe/Cole from S5.

I could've sworn that Pat Shand had at least one ebook published, because I remember how upset I was that it wasn't written by Paul Ruditis after loving Paul's Season 9 comics and ebooks and hating Pat's Season 10. But maybe that book was "Social Medium".

But maybe that book was "Social Medium". Maybe Social Medium had a preview (before the official release that since we know never went to publish) which lets you sample the first chapter or prologue or you read the synopsis for the book that you remember reading about, that then put you off wanting to check the full ebook.

I unfortunately think the reboot is gonna get in the way of this, but I am honestly not sure how the rights of the franchise work so I hope for the best. I definitely like that Prue back in the newer novels, tho the way she is written she doesn't seem very Prue-like. As for other novel suggestions. Thank you for the suggestions, I was able to get Dark Vengeance pretty cheap though I fear Cole is already possessed by the source given the wiki timeline lol Also I don't dislike Paige.

I definitely like that Prue back in the newer novels, tho the way she is written she doesn't seem very Prue-like. Funny, I don't think the reboot even has any novels made for it. I don't think the rights will get in the way, but, you might be right they may decline to approve of them, but unless the reboot makes novels themselves, I don't get why they'd decline. My pleasure. I hope you like them. Just a warning, since lots of the novels were written months in advance, some of the writers may not know enough about the canon of Charmed. I think this novel states The Source was vanquished, but Cole isn't actually possessed by the Source. So they the wiki may just have made a guess of its placement. If you pretend that the Source being mentioned as vanquished is an error, then the novel fits nicely just before Charmed and Dangerous, or you can pretend this is an alternate universe, where the Source is vanquished but Cole doesn't become the new source. The novels did this often, and had a heap of stories set in S6, but Chris was never in any of them or mentioned and Piper and Leo are still together, and Leo is still their whitelighter in some of them. I presume, the authors did not get enough knowledge of the plots in S6, so they had to just choose to ignore Chris completely, or all of them can be treated as if they were set in an alternate universe where the events of Oh My Goddess never happened.

So I read Truth & Consequences. It was cute, a little bland but okay. What struck me the most was how the family accepted Cole. I'm reading the Seasons of the Witch Vol 1 now. Also a little search on twitter I found out why the novels were canceled in case if anyone is still curious. The publisher went out of business, the paperbacks were canceled so I assume the following books were too. From Pat Shand's twitter:

So that's why they didn't release the paperbacks. Doesn't bother me about the unpublished one not getting released as didn't like the story outlines.

I didn't like how Pat Shand handled Charmed in S10 at all! So I really don't feel like I'm missing much not reading any of his novels, unlike Paul Ruditis' which I love.

Me either. Too bad they didn't take off, as I'd love to have seen more novels written by Paul Ruditis during the show.
I gave up on S10 and just read about the issues online. Hated what Pat did to the comics, which were so good in S9.

I skimmed War on Witches but couldn't bring myself to read the whole thing. I do wish the novels had continued if anything so the fans get something to discuss. I just wanted to share this resource, I didn't see it posted here yet. You can *legally* check out some Charmed novels by creating an account in OpenLibrary.orgopenlibrary.org/people/tpepper/lists/OL152703L/CharmedSome only give you a 1 hour check out which is annoying. Not all the novels are there, but it's a start if you are bored like me 😂

I have also ordered three of the cheaper ones on Amazon: "Voodoo Moon" (Season One) "Whispers from the Past" (Season Two) "Mystic Knoll" (Season Five) I am interested to see which timeline is better. Although most agree the earlier seasons were better, most also agree that Paul Ruditis is great, who seems to have written a lot of the books later in the shows timeline. I will post fun little reviews once I receive/read them! Hey Forbuss, I was just thinking of you and this thread, when I brought up something about the novels in another thread. Did you ever get a chance to read these? I'd love to see you review these, unless you didn't get time, which I'll understand.
