since i'm relatively new in charmed and have watched through it twice I was wondering what do you consider Piper's worst season.

That depends upon what you consider "worst".
My first choice is Season 2, specifically the second half after 'Awakened'. I HATED how she treated both Dan and Leo.
My second choice is Season 8. Again, I HATED how she treated Leo as her very own little errand boy and then DARED to mourn him!

When you mean worst do you mean her being unlikable and us not liking her character in the season or worst as she had a pretty bad season with her character being put through hell with drama and us still enjoying her.
Otherwise I'm voting based on her worst seaaon with me not liking her character that season.
For sure Season Two is my first pick. HATE how she treats Dan and Leo. Especially lying to Dan about being a witch for a year even after Dan went into Leo's past.
My second would be Season 7 or 8.

By worst do you mean how Piper was handled or where she's at her worst? In terms of how Piper was handled I think Season 2 is her "worst" because of the love triangle stuff. I disagree with people here in that it doesn't destroy her character, because she still remains into their jobs and has moments/scenes where resemblance of Season 1 Piper or snarky Piper still occur, its just any moment where she treats Dan and Leo poorly was just not fun to watch. But she isn't bad, just misused.
In terms of being at her worst Season 8 hands down. I think Seasons 7 and 8 just begin to show the worst aspects of Piper personally. The fact she never seems happy or satisfied with anything. (Literally the episode after they denied their decisions from Avatars she's complaining about them fighting demons again when they rescue Drake and someone else at Magic School during Carpe Demon) I also found Piper's treatment of Leo to be at its worst in Season 7, especially that scene in Witchness Protection where she berates him just because his picture had a slight blur on it, seriously Piper that's what you harp on Leo for? Not for leaving this time, but because he had a picture blur? And her "I'm gonna hang it anyway" attitude was just UGH!
There's also how she (along with Phoebe and Paige) treat him in Once in a Blue Moon. When it comes to Season 8 though everything about Piper that was likable was stripped away and just felt more and more like a miserable person. Not once did I ever see her smile or look like she was enjoying something. She just seemed bitter and hateful in a way that was even different than Seasons 5-7. Kill Billie Vol 1 is her worst episode by far, when she turns reporters into rodents because they annoy her (then tells Paige her alternate plan was to blow them up) and especially that scene where she goes off on Leo I HATED her "That's what marriage is about, what's your problem" line she sounded like a literally bully toward Leo and basically stated the idea of marriage was dividing and conquering. Then she has the gall to spend every episode post Vaya Con Leos obsessed with getting him back. I also hated that scene where she and Phoebe fuss at Billie and go "And I'm older so what I think counts more" the way her lines were delivered along with her tone just makes her unpleasant. Piper also has an obsession with threatening to blow people up who get in her way for any reason.
I also don't like Piper during the whole Jenkins conflict. Especially in episodes like Thorn Identity and Jung and the Restless. In Thorn Identity she assaults Christy, then when Billie confronts her she shows no concern about it (even though Paige could've orbed Christy away before she said the spell) then tells Billie "Christy and have what she wants" even though all she wants is Leo back and Billie points that out only for her to say "that's not fair" so its not fair when its Piper. In The Jung and the Restless when Paige tries convincing Piper killing Billie and Christy is illegal, Piper responds with "is that the best y'got?" so she doesn't even care of the thought of doing something illegal. Even worse she tried to just attack them both when Phoebe was trying to talk to them and didn't try to consider any other option.
My vote was for Season 8. Piper is at her worst in every regard. It's like the writers too Piper's already amplified negative traits and made them worse. I would say Season 5, because I hated the way Piper treated Paige in Nymphs Just Wanna Have Fun. But my vote was for Seasons 7 & 8 she's just awful in those.

Again, you're not really telling us what you mean by "at her worst". As I wrote, for me it was when she treated Dan and Leo so horribly in S2 and Leo so horribly in S8.

Season 2, the way she treats Dan and Leo is just so bad, having finished our board re-watch of S2 a while ago, I just can't with her.
My second pick would be Season 7 for the way she treats Leo.

Definitely S8. She ends up treating Leo horribly and is blinded by wanting to get Leo back, that she's way too eager to kill Billie and her sister, without even wanting to discuss things, first. S8 really makes her unlikeable, that it makes Phoebe look better than her 'cause at least Phoebe was willing to take the diplomatic approach through communication rather than destruction.
