Personally whilst season 3 and 4 are PEAK Charmed ...the latter half gets such a bad rep Season 5- I adore all the Phoebe Cole stuff I was gutted queen of underworld stuff was abandoned but I did love the tension there in the first half if was exciting still with Phoebe trying to move on yet coping with the traumatic experience naturally it'll get your defenses up Loved Paige expanding the universe too with fairytale stuff, the Wyatt stuff may not interest me much because I don't engage with the Piper Leo stuff at all really by this point but here there was the added stakes of protection A Witch's Tail, Siren Song, Witch in tights, the eyes have it, fear to eternity, a witch in time, Sam I am, the importance of being Phoebe, centennial charmed, the nightmare episode, the day the magic died, sense and sensibility are PEAK Charmed Season 6- the time travel stuff I loved so much , Chris was a great addition stirring it up whilst I didn't like the Piper Leo stuff he was great trolling them all, added a level of paranoia, loved Paige's temp stuff taking us to new locations and areas again, loved Phoebe's interventions too and magic school was an interesting bizarre addition. And barbas is iconic Power of three blondes, the ghost episode, the desires episode, sword in the stone, the one wgere piper was taken hostage, Chris crossed, the time travel episode, I dream of Phoebe, spin city, wrong days journey into right, witch wars and the two part finale are all PEAK Charmed with interesting ideas Season 7- controversially I rank this Just below 3 and 4 as a favourite alongside season 1 in third place because I love so many things in this season it felt nearly a perfect final year had they fully got dedicated to the plotting and journey ...but alas the Avatar mystery was compelling, Zankou was a great menace, Cole was fun ti see retyrn, felt back ti basics in vibe too the aesthetiv and tone felt like early charned , charisma caroenter is a incredibke addition phoebe being resourceful and agsin paige maguc school.stuff tsking us to plsces we hsvebt before, loved Leo for the first time here too with his confkict making for compelling storytelling fir the first time for his charscter and lesding to stake levels same with darryl vs sheridan paranioa LOVED the return of season long arc too from season 3 and 4 that's my fave way of storytelling anyway Bare witch project, charrrrrmed, Styx Feet under, blue moon, the avatar episode with the claw demon, charmed noir, witchness protection, the utopia story arc episodes, the Billy Zane episodes,the nexus episode, freaky Phoebe and the finale two partner were all peak charmed too Season 8- Billie I loved , Piper I actually liked this season without Leo around it made for compelling storytelling ...Paige going full white lighter too was fab nostalgic seeing triad again and hollow , and the fact it maintained having an arc across the season actually nowhere near as bad as people make out but storylines getting repeated sadly make me rank it lowest Loved the disguises in the first 5 pisodes before it got thrown out the window would've loved a bit longer Run Piper run, kill Billie, hulkus pocus, vaya com Leo's, the hostage episode, 12 angry zen and the final three episodes were all great too Overall I rank the seasons 3- 10/10 4- 10/10 7- 9/10 1- 9/10 6- 8/10 5- 8/10 2- 7/10 8- 6/10  |

I understand why S5-S8 gets a bad rep. It's not as "Protect/Save the Innocent(s)" heavy like S1-S4. That being said, S5-S8 still isn't that bad even with its newer direction on eliminating the Charmed Ones (most of the time) vs the Charmed Ones stopping evil and all of that. It definitely is a newer angle though not that new, as even the pilot episode, back in S1 showcases that the Charmed Ones will be attacked. I think S5-S8 displays this story angle better than S1-S4 did. Which probably made it easier for the show to just utilize the Manor vs all these newer places and venues that S1-S4 explored especially S1-S2.
S5-S8 showcases the sisters as adults and less about bonding (which isn't a bad thing). There's only so much sisterly bonding they can do and so, it really was time to move on and away from it being about their bond and more about the next gen, mainly Piper's. It really just depends on how you look at it. I still have plenty of fond memories of S5-S8 even if the writing isn't that great. It's definitely funnier than S1-S4, I'll give it that, and that's really what holds S5-S8 up there, for me.

I'm starting to hate S5 less. Mostly, in terms of power balance and some continuity, for example Phoebe wearing glasses.
Out of the whole S5-S8 bracket, S5 contains the most episodes with, at least, one premonition. Along with the most prmonitions:

I'm in a minority that enjoys all the seasons for different reasons I think like Buffy each season gives me a different feel or mood in full It's one of the few shows where I could put a random episode on and find some things to enjoy you know !! Season 5- Loved the fresh feel to the show here, mermaids, superheroes, fairytale stuff was such a different direction, greek mythology, great looking demons again Crone, Sea Hag, Barbas as ever, all looked great ... All the Cole episodes felt like there were some stakes to be had you never knew where would go next ....kept things edgy for a while too Witch's Tail, Siren Song, Witch in Tights, Eyes Have It, Fear, Witch in Time, Sam I Am, Importance of being Phoebe, Centennial Charmed, Sand Francisco dreaming, Day the magic died and sense and sense ability are masterpieces ....like genuinely brilliant Season 6- Again change in time, Chris made things very unpredictable across the season, more mythology stuff from medieval legend and fairytales and things, great fun with tine travel concepts too and several classic episodes to be had ....one of my favourite seasons I dare say too again loved the twists ...made it feel like an event to tune in weekly Valhalla of the Dolls, Forget me Not, Power of three Blondes, Loves a Witch, my three witches Sword in the Stone, Little Monsters, witch stock, Chris crossed, dream of Phoebe, spin city, witch wars, it's a bad bad bad bad world are all excellent episodes Season 7 - Leo was at a peak here, stakes felt higher with that creepy avatar floating head thing too, Leo unhinged again made the season unpredictable, Zankou after Cole, Barbas and The Seer was one of the best ever villains! Again bringing body count up too....genuinely felt like the show went to its darker roots of season 1 in a way which I appreciated Phoebe came full circle this season I felt , Piper I too could tolerate this season and Paige journey I got invested in too , Charisma Carpenter as the seer was iconic Bare witch project, charrrrrmed, Styx Feet under, someone to witch over me, charmed noir, there's something about Leo, witchness protection ordinary witches, Chsrmageddon two partner, carpe demon, show ghouls, seven year witch, scary hard, freaky Phoebe, imaginary friends, death becomes them, somethibg wicca this way goes were such great highlights here Season 8- The one MCU ripped off by now I felt the show reached full triquetra and circle ....doctor who and supernatural were two shows filling the gap by 2006 so charmed felt organically phasing out for me ...ADORED Billie loved Phoebe taking her in under her wing too like she did for Paige 4 years prior, loved Paige as white lighter too and Piper given a full purpose to have this year too ...again it felt it retained that darker crisper tone of earlier seasons but still had fun with campy elements too and I dare say besides Buffy, Walking Dead, Being Human UK and Desperate Housewives this is the best FINAL season of a show I've seen genuinely it felt like they went all out knowing they had only this year to get it under wraps I liked what they did bringing Triad back for nostalgia, the Source for a nice nod too, loved the hidden identities for the initial episodes too...overall solid lineup and the final episodes showed all bets were off huge stakes and the Charmed Infinity War/Endgame Not many shows can boast such a great final season as this Still Charmed and Kicking, Malice in Wonderland, Rub piper Rub, Desperate Housewitch, Kill Billie, Hulkus Pocus, Vaya Con Leo's, paybacks a witch, repo manor, 12 angry zen, engaged and confused, torn identity, hung and the restless, gone with the witch and the EPIC final two parter we really are forever charmed ✨  |

All those shows I watched when they aired in the late 90s/00s as a kid at the same time. So they all pretty much are defined me. Along with some others in the 00s. That's right haha I love connecting oh it all was such a golden age Some would say we get so much opportunity now and diversity but back then I remember tuning in evenings for Buffy angel on sky one with the whole family, tuning in on Living TV for Charmed with everyone discussing with a few friends at school next day ...watch parties sometimes and snacks ....I kept that going with Doctor Who for years Now it doesn't happen anymore ...I'll never forget friends coming over tuning in at event episodes of Charmed to get shook by it all....recording on VHS too incase we were out then watching later or next day all of it takes me back Owning it all physically is such a joy really even Season 8 was eventually viewing I think that's why it felt event viewing and holds a special place in my heart ..... Watching the final episode altogether was so touching and affecting it |
