CRONE: Off the top of my head, for S1-S3 for now. I'll have to think about directing, costumes, and sets another time.

I think Holly Marie Combs in Dead Man Dating would probably have been the Emmy nomination. Especially as HMC wasn't as well known as Shannen Doherty and Alyssa Milano.
Dead Man Dating's special effects weren't too bad. (for the time)
Wicca Envy, The Woogy and De Ja Vu would have been great directing, writing, acting nominations as well.

I said S3 due to the serious episodes (especially towards the end) that were the following: - S3E2 "Magic Hour"
- S3E14 "The Good, the Bad and the Cursed"
- S3E19 "The Demon Who Came in From the Cold"
- S3E20 "Exit Strategy"

*sigh sadly don't think the Emmy Awards caters to supernatural or fantasy dramas, unless it was on the main networks. But, I could be wrong, would not surprise me Buffy won more awards and emmies for a WB show. But, I don't think Charmed would ever win anything even if they did have a separate category for fantasy shows, Charmed MIGHT win more for costumes, sets, writing and directing, but the competition would be so tough for acting or just winning best fantasy drama. Thanks for the link, just checked and yes, Charmed was nominated in the fantasy or science fiction awards, with the show and Shannen being nominated.
I do think if they added a category to the Emmy awards for fantasy dramas, Charmed would have a real shot than just the drama and comedies.
But well earned for Charmed to win a ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards in 1999, for its wonderful musical scores in Season 1. Since I preferred the first season the most, I'm shocked that after winning this award, they decided to change it in S2.

Any chance this board can do their own Charmed awards? We're we all nominate, then the top 3 choices are put in a poll, then all the polls are opened up at the same time, with a two-week deadline, and votes reveal themselves when it closes.
Like for instance Season 1 could look like this:
Outstanding Performance by Shannen, Alyssa, and Holly for an episode in season 1 (no need to vote for who is the best, just vote for all three in individual polls to say what each of their best performances in season 1 was)
favorite episode for season 1
Favorite writer for an episode of season 1
Favorite female supporting character
favorite male supporting character
favorite demon or warlock
favorite innocent
favorite spell
favorite subplot in an episode (e.g the love spell, Piper can't go into a church, Prue, and Phoebe in Wendigo, and so on.)
favorite moment which includes all three sisters
favorite sisterly ending

Holly Marie Combs should have been nominated for Best Actress but it would have been very competitive in the 90s. Then if Shannen won for her performance in Witch Trial with Shannen for Morality Bites the following year that couldv'e been great. T.W King in the Power of 2 for best suppporting actor could'be been possible? Or Alyssa taking it out in Season 3 in The Good The Bad and The Cursed! |
