What's the saddest part of Charmed for you? For me, it's that I outlived Prue by about 5 years, and Patty by almost a decade, even though I'm only 35. Prue was 30 when she died, and Patty was 27 when she died.

I like to be fair to all of the seasons.
Season One S1E22 "Deja Vu, all Over Again" Andy's death.
Season Two S2E1 "Witch Trial" Prue not being over Andy's death and blames herself.
Season Three S3E14 "The Good, the Bad & the Cursed" Bo getting whipped & Phoebe feeling that psychic echo.
Season Four (DvD Version Only) S4E20 "Long Live the Queen" The Charmed Ones killing Cole leading into both Piper & Paige comforting a distressed Phoebe.
Season Five S5E7 "Sympathy for the Demon" Phoebe's inner struggle with her fear of being evil and mistakenly harms Paige, in the process, and Paige's last moments (during this episode) is dying at the hands of her own sister. Such a deep and emotional situation that is buried beneath the garbage that is S5.
Season Six S6E13 "Used Karma" The first episode to begin spiraling the Richard character, down the drain. Along with the Phoebe & Jason breakup. I love Phoebe & Jason.
Season Seven S6E13 "Charmageddon" Phoebe touching the BoS and getting a premonition of "all the losses".
Season Eight S8E22 "Forever Charmed" Billie being responsible for killing Christy, but this moment symbolizes so much of what Billie lost, devoting her time and energy to "the greater good". She lost J.D. (a potential lover), her parents and now, her sister? I get some (not all) don't like Billie, but I totally sympathize with her, in that moment.

The saddest part for me is the fact that we had to tolerate S4-8 and the rip-off. Had it ended with "All Hell Breaks Loose", it would be just the right time for a true reboot.

Both of you make good points. Aaeiyn, I like the saddest part of each season thing. I agree, Andy's death, Prue blaming herself for Andy's death and having a hard time dealing with it in Witch Trial was hard for me, and Piper and Paige comforting Phoebe after vanquishing Cole were pretty hard for me, too.

If I had to do the saddest parts of each season, for me it's: 1. Andy's death 2. Sam's death 3. Micah's death 4. Paige's parents' deaths. 5. No Prue in "Cat House" 6. The fact that this season exists. 7. Zankou's death 8. The fact that this season exists. No, actually the saddest part of Charmed doesn't really exist. It's this, the reason why neither 'All Hell Breaks Loose' and 'Charmed Again, Part One" are part of my list. Those episodes never make me cry like the sad parts mentioned above do. But this does:

With her acting, Shannen made me shed a tear more often than others, for example with the Innocents, her mother or Andy's death. Holly does it in "Hell Has No Fury". Rose in "a Paige from the past". Drew Fuller in "Spider Demon" when Chris explains to Leo that he was a bad father. Brian Krause in "a bad bad world part 2" when Chris dies. The saddest thing for me is the pathetic and total disappearance of Prue. She stupidly dies and the character is destroyed.

Andy's Death, Mark's Death, Sam's Death, the fact Season 6 & 8 exist and Prue's image being banished after S3.

Here's one unrelated to the show as in sad part of Charmed in Real Life. That all four actresses can't put their differences aside to take part in a reunion special where they reflect on the show. When nearly every other show can have their cast come together for the fans. This is what breaks my heart. I see the Buffy, Sabrina, Angel, Friends etc. cast all can come together. But sadly not Charmed. I guess it just proves that the sisterhood's just not that strong off-camera as it is on-camera. Oh, well!

The saddest part for me were certain scenes, like Paige's parents dying, Piper's grief-speech during Hell Hath No Fury, and there's a couple more that I can't, for the life of me, think of right now, but I'll add on later.

Here's one unrelated to the show as in sad part of Charmed in Real Life. That all four actresses can't put their differences aside to take part in a reunion special where they reflect on the show. It really is sad. This same bitter energy has seeped onto some (not all) of its own community/fandom. Where instead of reminiscing about fond memories, online communities (though, I shouldn't be surprised) like to sulk about what they hate and constantly drag it through the mud. I've learned more about why the community hates the show they claim they love more than why they like it. Though, I shouldn't expect anything less from online communities. As I've grown up in the era of online communities that regardless of said community (whether it's about TV shows, movies, video games, etc.), all online communities have one thing in common: somebody is always complaining about something. It's quite sad, really. Welcome to the online life, I guess LOL

That Piper and Phoebe never grieved for Prue properly because they physically couldn't due to the demon fighting.

The saddest part for me is that Prue died and everyone went on without her. Of course it was hard at first, and we can't expect them to grieve forever. But the fact that it became like she never existed is such a slap in the face to her. It makes her story that much more tragic, and makes her feel stuck in the past. The idea that her sisters would so completely go on without her with barely a mention of her in the later seasons makes it seem like she just didn't mean that much to them, even though we all know she did.
It's also sad that they lost their mother so young. I don't know who to feel more sorry for. Prue, for getting to know her mom and then having her taken away; Phoebe, for never getting the chance to know her; or Patty herself, dying before she was even 30 years old.
There's also Andy's death, and especially him and Prue talking after he dies but before he moves on, always makes me cry.
Then Mark's father meeting him to take him to the afterlife, and it's sad and happy at the same time.
Outside of the story itself, I'll echo others and say it's sad that it lost its way. Watching the first half of the show reminds me of going to the movies on a stormy evening. Watching the second half feels like watching a movie in the middle of a sunny day with all the lights on. It may be kind of a stupid metaphor, but there's an atmosphere about the first half that the second half lacks for me. Although a bright side to it is that it makes me appreciate the first few seasons all that much more.

They barely honored her memory or thought of her unless it served as a reminder that Prue died for plot purposes. I get they can't grieve forever. But anybody who has lost a loved one, still thinks about their loved one. Even just things reminding them of her or fond memories brought up. Whenever she was mentioned it was often just mentioning the fact she died. I can't recall many or any moments where she's remembered positively or laughing about their beloved sister Prue with a good memory after S4.

The one time they did was during 'Marry Go Round' when they remembered her in a bad light. Prue ruining Piper's wedding I wouldn't count as a positive memory of Prue. But, its the only one we ever got on the series, where they didn't mention her just relating to her death. There's also S5 when battling Barbas with Paige wanting to do a spell Prue mastered. Unless, I'm missing others, but I don't think so.

I echo what everyone said.
Piper's meltdown in "Hell Hath No Fury" always get's me emotional.
Also - the entire episode of "Death Becomes Them" - especially when Piper has to start blowing up the necromancers versions of the innocents they've lost. Very sad.
