Has anybody listened to the one with Jennifer Rhodes yet? I'm tempted dears to listen to it since everyone knows how much I adore Grams.
But I won't if it isn't worth my while and don't talk enough about Charmed.

I love Jennifer so I was really excited about this one, but it was just super disappointing. So many awkward pauses and certainly not enough tea about Charmed.

It was so random having Jennifer Rhodes on an episode that doesnt feature Grams AT ALL. They started out good talking about it but then went back to their old habits.

So nothing has changed with the podcast still. Maybe it never will. I'll only return to it when I hear good things about it.

Out of interest, have they had anybody from production or behind the scenes apart from one director way back when they started? If not they really need to dig deeper into the production and creation process and less on the guest stars.
I feel the more interesting insights are from the ones who were part of crafting and creating the stories/episodes behind the scenes. But for most of us fans the tidbits we are really craving are all the production decisions that went on behind the scenes with writing and stories plotted with what was working or wasn't at the time.
But maybe so many of the writers had horrible experiences working on Charmed, we may never hear from any of them. But couldn't hurt to even be able to grab the ones who were in charge of making the book of shadows or set designer for the manor.

I thought she'd be on for 'Witch Trial'. Greg they could've saved for any episode during S2. It appears they're going to keep up this random guests on episodes they're not in trend, Charisma Carpenter and Rose McGowan are future guests. Although it does sound like Shannen might be on at some point. Since the podcast Instagram added her I believe the weekend of the 90s con they attended together. I did notice Charisma and Rose had been added early this year. I wonder if Misha Collins will be on for 'They're Everywhere' or Brigid Brannagh for 'That Old Black Magic'.
Really does seem like they're failing booking guests lately, so they're bringing on anybody now.

Chances are most are working on bigger and better things since Charmed and are too busy to appear on the podcast, or didn't have the best time working on the show.

Yeah, Charisma and Rose are going to be on the podcast as guests. If Shannen is on it'll likely be for 'Ms. Hellfire' or the S2 finale she directed. Ruth Marie, I did notice the podcast Instagram started following Shannen around the time of 90s Con, too. Maybe they managed to talk her into doing it during that event. But, with Shannen starting her own podcast, maybe she will be too busy to do it, or it'll be good promotion for her to do the HOH podcast to get the Charmed fans to check out her new one. I wonder if Alyssa will come onto the podcast for S2.

Shannen will never be on the podcast. She has mentioned that she's working on her own podcast right now so that's probably the bigger priority to her. It would also be strange - in my opinion - to just have her on for one random episode. She was literally the star of the show for the first three seasons. One random episode does not seem worth it to me.

A Painted World just came out with an 8/10 rating. It wasn't the best recap.
The last 3 reviews have been alright because of Jennifer Rhodes and Greg Vaughn guest staring.
There's a streak of bad Season 2 episodes coming so I want to get Drew, Holly and Brians perspectives on those that are coming next.

Just listened to the most recent one on Spotify - The Devils Music.
I always thought this was a weak Season 2 episode but the rewatch reminded me of how good an episode can be because of the performances, direction and the character development.
Drew, HMC and BK all rated this quite highly - which is weird considering how low some of the Season 1 ratings are for some of the filler-like episodes Season 1 had.
Feels like their rating scale is 50% performances and 50% story and production.
I speed the podcasts up because they do talk a lot off topic.
It was also nice to hear Charisma Carpenter as well.
The 3 do talk about the order of the airing of these episodes vs. production order acknowledging that this episode was supposed to come before the previous one.
My thinking is that the Dan/Piper/Sperm and Egg drawing scene with Phoebe at the end of A Painted World was put in last minute to change the relationship interest from Dan to Piper instead of giving Phoebe a romantic love interest.
Constance M Burge also wrote this episode and I think this is where the Kern vs Constance thing happened - when Brad wanted to start pimping Alyssa Milano out but Constance was protective over the character of Phoebe - which is created in her own vain - being the youngest of 3 sisters. Then jealously between Alyssa and Shannen intensifies - with Kern taking on far more control by the start of Season 3 - where I think Constance only wanted Cole's character to be around for those first 6ish episodes.
Also they have sorted out their microphones and you can hear them better now. Trust me @ x1.5 or x1.8 - its tolerable to listen to.

I have decided to stop listening to the podcast. Maybe I'll come back to it later, but its just too disappointing to listen to it on a weekly basis. The interviews are tedious, the audio issues are a mess and they never spill any tea.
Als why would Charisma Carpenter be there for a season 2 episode? Her character does not appear on the show until season seven. How random and completely uncalled for.

You're better than me even keeping up. I dropped off in late S1. I still believe it would've been better to let Drew do it on his own with a different co-host each week. Holly and Brian can pop in a few times a season but not every episode or just let Holly do her own short segment each week for 10 minutes with Drew asking her what she thinks of the episode while letting Drew host and interview guests.

To be honest I think I just watch it for their perspectives. Kind of why I like coming to this board too. And I dont really mind listening to it now because they actually like rewatching the show - probably since the late Season 1 episodes and they want to know where its all going. Most of it is annoying though. I do kinda wish they took it more seriously. Even sort of look through Charmed wikia or IMDB for trivia. It wouldn't be that hard so that move could come out of the rewatch.

I kind of look at this podcast as less of a Charmed re watch podcast now and more of a general podcast among 3 friends who happened to work together and watch an episode weekly.
So I don't take the re-watch very seriously at all.
However I am beginning to change my perception on what I thought were bad episodes (I guess this board has influenced my thoughts on what a good/bad episode is) and just taking the episode for what it is.
The episode reviewed most recently was She's a Man Baby... and although they didn't talk about the episode much (it took about 10-15 mins for them to start talking about the episode), they did start talking about relevant issues like toxic masculinity, bullying, what it means to be a man etc. in relation to the messages in this episode (which is not really well received by fans). I guess I like that about the demon-on-the-week episodes and Season 2 in general as well.
They also talk about mental health, relationships, bullying etc. which I am starting to like a lot more of esp from Brian and Drew.
Its not the worst or the best podcast but its nice to know that 3 of the original cast members are in touch with each other and are in general liking watching the show.
It reminds me that Season 2 is my fave Season. Although critically it would be just behind Season 1.

Its also really nice to hear how Holly talks about the Cranberries moment and how the crew, cast and the show felt like it was at a really good place and they were all spending a lot of time together.
That scene is one of the best in the show. Its nice to know that it was an authentic moment in the show.

It's like, relax! It's not that deep lol

It's nice to see how close the cast is. I liked when Drew mentioned on the podcast he wants to take Shannen dancing when tjey do a con together next. And Holly I think said Brian danced with her at the last con they did.
I love that Shannen and Holly are friends again or getting closer again through these cons again. They follow each other on Instagram again since then. Time must heal.
Seeing them get emotional about Shannen leaving Charmed on the latest Paris con when Holly was near tears at the panel touched me.
