So is what your saying that you don't mind the powers, you dislike the sisters taking orders and being guided by them you dislike. Not liking authority figures and guides. You prefer them being more independent. I'd rather the familiars been the "guides". And, yes, much more independent away from the dictatorship of "the elders" and "whitelighters".

Yeah I can get on board with that. The show barely touched the Familiars mythology. Until Kern wrote Cat House to likely shut us fans up asking what happened to Kit. I'm sure Connie wanted them to have a bigger part since Kit is in her pilot episode.

I completely agree. When I started writing my book, set in a similar universe with witches and magic, I did research and realized the significance of familiars to witches. I knew Charmed should've utilized Kit and familiars better overall, but it wasn't until I dug deep into wiccan mythology that I discovered how notable familiars are. I see why Connie didn't want to get into whitelighters, because of everything that came attached. "The founders" isn't a terrible concept, but it could've been the first coven of witches or something like that. It didn't have to be "The Elders"..

I'm sure Connie wanted them to have a bigger part since Kit is in her pilot episode. Agreed. I hate how much Kit was truly forgotten about.. Funny we watched The Painted World, as I just listened to the podcast of that episode the other day, and Holly mentioned that Connie must've inserted that line as a nod to the fact that Kit hadn't been seen much on the show at that point. I wonder how much influence she truly had on Kit's involvement. Kit was important in the series opener, and the season 2 opener, so it seems like she was setup to be significant more than she was.

That would've been interesting seeing and learning about Familar lore besides Kit and seeing other Familars too like the ones in the BOS of course.
I'm sure many fans would've rather had no White Lighters period but if they had to stay have it made they were only accessed when they were really needed I.e. if a witch was dying, or they were trapped somewhere and magic couldn't get them out or they'd already tried researching for a particular demon who wasn't fought online or in any books or other places etc.

Familiars are very big in wiccan mythology. I can tell Connie was very invested in wicca. Like you suggested by thinking the concept of the founders isn't terrible, and should've been the first coven of witches or something, well, maybe Melinda Warren should've been the founder or even a group going further back. Could've been established in the 1600s or something. I'm surprised they didn't just tie it into the how Grams became a high priestess to perform weddings and wiccanings. It made no sense to me that the Elders were all men who were not even witches themselves. But, I wouln't want them being too involved from the beyond like the show did with the Elders in S5-S8, but letting witches remain independent.

I wonder how much influence she truly had on Kit's involvement. Kit was important in the series opener, and the season 2 opener, so it seems like she was setup to be significant more than she was. So horrible how mistreated she was. I was expecting Kit to have this big role and was sad she didn't. I'm sure Connie had so much fun adding that line in as a nod. She was set-up to have this bigger role and it went nowhere. I remember Paige had a pet bird, I wonder if it was a familiar the way Grams old dog that ran away could've been. That would've been interesting seeing and learning about Familar lore besides Kit and seeing other Familars too like the ones in the BOS of course. That's so cool you did that research for your book. I love researching different topics. Sometimes the research becomes just as fun as writing. Anything interesting you learned on Familiars that Charmed could've used?

I dont like the fact that the podcast isn't weekly. I can understand around Xmas, Easter, Thanksgiving etc, the episodes being non-weekly but I think its inconsistent and they should give a heads up at least if there is a delay.

Actually they have given a heads up, its due to all the conventions they are attending this month. It's why its delayed. This might just be a recurring thing throughout the year. But I wonder if they should just record several episodes in a week in order to keep the consistency going with weekly pods.

Maybe I missed it. But yes - keeping the consistency would be nice.

It would.

All the conventions and traveling this month means they've put recording new episodes on hold for a month. I get the frustration.
I suppose they should've added a little warning or re-edited the last podcast they did with an add-on by Drew explaining the absence. But maybe they'll learn that for next time.

This does give those of us behind, in the podcast, to catch up. It sure does. I know they have a free patron trial for 7 days. If that is still a thing by the time they finish S2, I might try it just to see the videos.

I appreciate Drew posting a video to say sorry for the delay. They'll be back next week with Heartbreak City.
He said they will be recording multiple episodes in the next week so this won't happen again. Good strategy so they can keep weekly episodes going.
I'm hopeful Shannen will pop on soon. They've teased her appearing but she was sick to do it. Maybe Give Me a Sign or Murphy's Luck. I doubt they'll manage to get Amy Adams on. It would be a surprise if she was on.

Again, why would Shannen be on any random episode? Why can't they dedicate an entire episode just to her?

Shannen and Rose incoming soon.
Aubry Plaza and her sister are Charmed fans are due to pop on the podcast, too. I saw the two posing in photos with the cast at 90s Con.

Interesting that they say 'you can guess what episodes they will be coming in for'. Which I don't really understand because I can imagine Shannen on Murphy's Luck or Be Careful what you Witch For (for direction). But Rose? So close? Maybe Magic Hour because of how its the forbidden love storyline. Drew and Greg hang out (thought in my heads going crazy!) hhahaha
