I'll bet he's the one who wanted to do it, but they talked him into including Holly and Brian. I wish they hadn't. Holly apparently thinks her "I don't really give a f**k" attitude is endearing, but its not. I find it borderline offending how she always makes fun of Drew for actually preparing for the recording and making an effort in general. I can only imagine her contributing to the on set drama in a passive agressive way to the others.

Listening to Power of Two.
Drew hated Phoebe in The Power of Two. He felt she was manipulative and gas lighting Prue too much. The way she was on this aggressive offence. Not a fan at all. Same with Holly and Brian.
Holly hated Phoebe gaslighting Prue too. She didn't like the writing this episode. Felt out of character that she let Phoebe slide. She felt Prue would say Piper does all the chores and Phoebe doesn't.
Holly feels the Prue and Phoebe fight was written bad. It was more a husband and wife argument that Kern took from maybe his real life. Not between siblings at all. It wasn't accurate at all.
Holly spoke about her producer role. Holly said when she disagreed with scripts, They would give her the script and say fix the scene. And when the executive producer was off playing golf (obviously shade at Kern) and they couldn't get him on the phone. Even if they had female writers, Kern would get his say in all the episodes where lines sounded they were written for a man not a woman.

That Phoebe vs. Prue fight didn't make sense to me. I felt like Phoebe was being called out for being wrong and lying and then she turned it around into her not having anything to do. I feel like that scene should have been cut. I found it interesting that the reason why she isnt in the episode is because of a tumour that she had taken out and the 3 leads became really close because of it.

I remember hearing that Holly had surgery and that's why her she wasn't in this one. Also why Holly had less to do as Piper in the last two episodes with spending the majority of Love Hurts sitting down. But I had no idea it was a tumor. I'm happy to hear it lead to the three of them becoming very close. It was after this time I think Shannen and Holly were bridesmaids at Alyssa's wedding which I'd imagine happened the summer of 99. I only remember Alyssa got married in 1999.

None of that about the script and writing surprises me. Glad we hear it, though. Yeah, you can tell that there is an issue writing siblings and females at times. And he was a controlling dude who wanted and got his way, damn the realism or the story.
That take from Holly about Phoebe and Prue sounding more married couple vs. siblings is interesting. Yeah, those kind of dynamics are *not* the same, buddy. And they shouldn't be.

So assuming they have a Easter and Xmas break - they will probably get to the very start of Season 4 at the end of 2023.
I think I am more excited now because Season 2,3 and the beginning of 4 is my favourite period.
Hopefully they improve a little. I do appreciate Drew's structure to it.

I think they're wrong about Phoebe gaslighting Prue. That word gets thrown around so much. Phoebe is still right about Prue and vice versa about Prue's observation of Phoebe. The fight needed to happen without Piper intervening. Even Burge has written the two fighting. It's how they started and couldn't properly finish it, until Piper couldn't intervene, anymore. TBH, I'm more on Phoebe's side than Prue, but I digress. Also, this is just more proof that Phoebe's character is a liar, not that I care if she is. There's no "proper" way of how siblings fight. Every family is different. I can relate to that fight, though.

Maybe gas lighting is the wrong word but there was def something within the fight where Phoebe just didn't have a point and she was trying to turn being called out on lying into Prue and Piper having expectations of the thankless job she has of being the stay at home unemployed sister who does all the errands because she actually has nothing to do. We used to have this policy in my house growing up as well - that who ever wasn't working temporarily had the thankless task of doing the unseen chores of laundry etc during the day. But that person choses to be in that position. I feel like Prue backed down because she felt sorry for Phoebe because there was something deeper that Phoebe was taping into and Prue just didn't think it was worth continuing on the argument. I think the fight could have been better written if it was about the different approaches the sisters wanted to take and without Piper being there to mediate and them finding a middle ground.

I thought the same. There was no reason why Phoebe shouldn't be expected to do things around the house or run errands, especially when Prue and Piper were working all day. Phoebe seemed angry at herself more than Prue, but like she wasn't capable of admitting that she was ashamed of herself, so she took it out on Prue instead. Prue really seemed to take the high road here, especially considering she was having quite a hard time herself in this episode with Andy and her boss both being frustrated with her.

I've been hoping that the Charmed podcast would find its footing but its 20 episodes in and it hasnt. They have no idea how to recap episodes. They spend like 5-10mins talking about one scene then focus on their own lives and random topics. Power of 2 barely spent any time on Prue/Phoebes relationship and their growth, Phoebe going to Alcatraz, the villain, Prue "dying" to vanquish the villain. All they did was talk about how whatshername wasnt Callie, how Phoebe gaslit Prue and how Andy was the third sister. Nothing deeper than that. I would rather Drew doing this himself with the guests. He actually cares and wants to do this seriously. Strong agree. Holly/Brian should've just been guests and he recapped with a friend or someone who wanted to do it. Or they should've just done a general podcast where they talk little bits of Charmed here and there but this isnt a Charmed podcast.

Maybe they'll take a pause after S1 and maybe regroup? I wonder what people outside of this board feel about the podcast. Are there enough people who just listen/watch for the actors so they'll continue this way or are there more actual critiques and maybe someone WILL listen and try to revamp for "season two."

I like learning about somethings that HMC talks about -e.g. the cancer scare in the PO2 episode. And I like Drews first watch of the series and how he has good take aways. I kind of wish they invited fans to review the episode instead of the guest podcasters talking about themselves for a large part of the show. So Far Drews top episodes are SWTWComes, Dead Man Dating, That 70's Episode and he has a soft spot for the Wendigo? I do like how he calls out how Andy isn't the best (supporting) character or detective - like a running gag.

I suggested to them to take fan questions pertaining to said episodes that they were talking about so they could have some kind of direction and actually discuss episode plot points but....they just gave me the "thats already a subscriber option" when...it definitely isnt or at least not being utilized properly.

*Spoiler alert for Love Hurts podcast. Ok so I listened to the last half of the podcast and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND watching/listening to the last 15 minutes of it.
There is very sad news for many Charmed Fans, with a much loved writer having passed away: Zack EstrinThis may have already been mentioned in this forum but I just found out He died last year in September at 51 and the actress who played Daisy also passed away in a rehabilitation centre. Zac was for me, the best writer the show had. And he also was pretty much the story editor of 90% of Season 1 and 80% of Season 2. He wrote the following. 4 of my top 10 episodes were written by him. Season 1"Thank You For Not Morphing" (with Chris Levinson) "The Truth is Out There... and It Hurts" (with Chris Levinson) "Feats of Clay" (teleplay) (with Michael Perricone, Greg Elliot, and Chris Levinson) "Is There a Woogy in the House?""Love Hurts" Season 2"Morality Bites""P3 H2O" "Animal Pragmatism" "Chick Flick""Be Careful What You Witch For" (teleplay) Season 3"Magic Hour" "Pre-Witched""We All Scream for Ice Cream" Crap I feel sad!

For most of us, no need to watch this since we knew abut Zac shortly after he passed. We also knew about the actress who played Daisy. I was afraid you were going to say someone else had passed.
When I first found out, I felt bad for Chris who always wrote the episodes with Zac. Sheryl is still my favorite Charmed writer - I love how she writes t- he sisters, especially Prue - But Chris and Zach are right behind her with the episodes they wrote. I SO wish all three had stayed for the entire series WITHOUT KERN!

Sounds like all three had no clue about it until recently. Nothing new here revealed. I agree. I liked many of the episodes those three wrote. Maybe they'll get Chris on the podcast one time who can share stories about Zack since they always wrote together.

Whoa, hi, I certainly didn't think this site is still active and it feels like I haven't been here forever. Hello everyone, Paige here and I really need to catch up on the rewatch podcast episode. Kind of feeling lazy after a small break and now I have a couple of episodes to catch up on.

I hope they'll get Chris on who wrote all her episodes with him. At least we can hear from insight from her on their writing together.

I tried listening to "Love Hurts" but couldn't finish it. I've said this before, but I listen to a lot of podcasts where the hosts record remotely from different locations and they don't have these audio issues. Its so hard, at least for me, to follow them what with all the different volume levels, etc.
Also Holly kept referring to the Daisy character as a "hoe". I guess she is trying to be funny but it just.. idk kind of rubbed me the wrong way.
