I'm a huge Piper apologist. I'm not going to say grievances about her character are unwarranted because I can definitely see where some of the criticism is coming from, but I just personally don't vibe with it. She's my fave and I love her and all of her cranky flaws and I will not be taking any notes at this time  I feel the same way about Phoebe. A lot of people (depends on where you ask) don't like her between S5-S8 or (around here, mostly) S3-S8. I like her in ALL 8 seasons. With the exception of S5A, but even that's understandable. Funny enough, I used to hate Phoebe (S5-S8, particularly). You'll see evidence of this around here in old posts. So, I do understand the criticisms, as well I've been there.
Another funny note (IK you're not taking them, at this time bit for anyone else just wanting to read), Piper USED to be "my favorite", back when I hated Phoebe. Now, I don't like Piper, anymore LOL I do understand the appeal of her character, though 'cause I've been there.
Another thing to note is separating the art from the artist I LOVE Holly Marie Combs but don't like Alyssa Milano. And, so it's possible I may have preferred the actor vs the character. It's a tough thing to do. Once you do it, it's interesting how your mind changes. That being said love Holly but not Piper. Don't like Alyssa but love Phoebe. People also will have different comments on certain issues but that's what makes things good as it would be boring if everyone agreed on the same thing. We just have to respect people's views as they would respect ours and agree to disagree with them as well. This, as well. I've said this before, and I'll say it, again, I prefer the Cafe fandom over Reddit. Reddit encourages downvoting behavior, and it becomes insanely toxic (especially for me), that you can get downvoted for holding an unpopular opinion. I'm not the biggest Prue fan but saying that is grounds to be downvoted. That, and I feel the leadership, here is better. |

They each have their strong suits and they each have their flaws. I just connect with Piper the most.
I LOVE Phoebe, there are instances where I don't and there a lot of times I don't agree with her, but it's the same for Piper. She may be my favorite but I recognize that sometimes she's wrong or acting in a not okay way. But that's human - outside of television, that's how we all are. And the note comment was just a funny, 100% down to discuss character and hear criticism! And Holly is a sweetheart!
And that is nice because every fan had a sister they all connected with personality-wise throughout the series. Yes, there might be times when you didn't like them and questioned why did they do that but then flaws are what make characters liked and relatable overall. 100% there a lot of times when I'm like "Piper what are you doing" and even though I'm a Piper apologist, I can recognize she isn't always right. The "not taking notes at this time" was just a joke, though! I'm always down for character discourse!

But I don't really dislike her in S6-S8. I see so much hate for Phoebe at Reddit before I stopped posting there over a year ago. That place is too toxic. I've terminated my Reddit account in general now. I just don't like the vibe there. I get downvoted all the time because I'm not part of the "in crowd" with sharing similar views as the majority. |

And that should never happen because people all have differing views or perspectives on what they think of television characters which anyone can be allowed to voice even if others don't agree with them though.
They just have to respect those opinions and if anyone oversteps the mark then that's where moderators step in and remind folks of the rules of course.
I find that a lot with the Eurovision community which gets quite toxic itself as well.

With my spreadsheets in mind (basing this off of the evenness of BOTH episodes containing episodes with freezes & freeze counts):
S2 > S1 > S3 > S4 > S6 > S8 > S5 > S7
As much as I HATE the personality of S2 Piper, S2 utilizes Piper's freezing power the MOST. The ONLY episode, she does NOT freeze anything in, is in S2E12 "Awakened". Otherwise, Piper freezes something, in every single episode, in S2.
Piper freezes in more episodes in S1 than in S3. HOWEVER, I still put S4 over S3 because you'll catch Piper freezing in MORE episodes than in S3 due to S3 using A LOT of freezes in the same episode vs spreading them out. PLUS, S4 (also) utilizes Piper's exploding power, so it's nice to see Piper still freezing something, in most of S4 even with the exploding power, in tact. Something, S5-S8 fails to do.
S8 has Piper freezing half the time, in this season, with the exception, that most of the freezing is done in one episode via S8E3 "Run, Piper, Run". So, I didn't end up voting for it. Plus, I don't like S8 Piper's personality, either.
S5 & S6 are even, though I like S6 more than S5, but I digress.
S7 being the absolute WORST season, for Piper freezes.
