[Challenge] Your "Protect/Save the Innocent(s)" Episodes

The challenge is to pick/select four episodes, per season, that is "Protect/Save the Innocent(s)" themed. There are some guidelines down below, to help you condense down your list, but the guidelines are optional! Especially since, not all of the seasons may have a plethora of episodes to choose from, regarding this theme, hence the guidelines down below.

Guideline One. A general saving of a big threat (though, no particular innocent with an extensive backstory) like the following (are OK and can count):

- Jackson Ward from S1E20 "The Power of Two"
- Masselin from S2E4 "The Devil's Music"
- Eames from S3E11 "Blinded by the Whitelighter"
- Gamil from S4E5 "Size Matters"
- Jeric from S5E10 "Y Tu Mummy Tambien"
- Jeannie from S6E15 "I Dream of Phoebe"
- Sarpedon from S7E7 "Someone to Witch Over Me"
- Antosis and Imp Master from S8E5 "Rewitched"

Guideline Two. Team Evil (whether it's Warlocks, Demons, evil humans, etc.) is to be after innocents and not the Charmed Ones (whether it's all of them, two of them or one of them), unless the Charmed Ones intervene and then Team Evil goes after them is OK. The ONLY exceptions are the following episodes and anything similar:

- S1E7 "The Fourth Sister", despite Kali targeting the Charmed Ones, Aviva still needed saving from going down a destructive path.
- S2E18 "Chick Flick", despite the episode starting off with the Demon of Illusion attempting to go after the Charmed Ones, he still poses a threat to the general populace, and the Charmed Ones needed to protect/save them. Along with the movies!
- S3E14 "The Good, the Bad & the Cursed", despite Phoebe going through some strange premonition systems, there was a bigger threat at play with the innocents stuck in the time loop!
- S4E22 "Witch Way, Now?", despite Agent Jackman targeting the Charmed Ones, initially he still posed a threat to Selina.
- S5E2 "A Witch's Tail, Pt 2", despite Necron going after Mermaid Phoebe, he still posed a threat to the general mermaid population, along with anyone, really.
- S6E17 "Hyde School Reunion", despite Rick holding Phoebe hostage, he still posed a threat to the general populace.
- S7E4 "Charrrmed!", despite the Pirates wanting the Charmed Ones, they still posed a threat and succeeded in killing Brenda (an innocent with some backstory), along the way.
- S8E9 "Hulkus Pocus", there was a huge threat to BOTH Team Good and Team Evil, of a disease going around killing (almost) everyone, and the Charmed Ones needed to help find a cure, to save EVERYONE!

Guideline Three. Minor innocents with some backstory can still count, like the following and anything similar:

- Brittany from S1E2 "I've Got You Under My Skin"
- Owen Grant from S2E5 "She's a Man, Baby, a Man!"
- Father Thomas from S3E6 "Primrose Empath"
- Susan Coleman from S4E8 "Black as Cole"
- Melissa from S5E4 "Siren Song"
- The Students (that aren't Enola nor Zachary) from S6E14 "The Legend of Sleepy Halliwell"
- Marie & George (and other innocents, in the same Time Loop) from S7E15 "Show Ghouls"
- The innocents with "Alice-like names" from S8E2 "Malice in Wonderland"

Guideline Four. Innocents that don't make it to the Manor can still count, like the following and anything similar:

- Max from S1E14 "Secrets & Guys"
- The Camp innocents from S2E8 "P3 H20"
- The Time Loop Town innocents from S3E14 "The Good, the Bad & the Cursed"
- Stan Provazolli from S4E11 "Trial by Magic"
- All innocents in S5 made it to the Manor!
- Ramona & Todd from S6E17 "Hyde School reunion"
- Brenda from S7E4 "Charrrmed!"
- The innocents in both S8E2 "Malice in Wonderland" and S8E5 "Rewitched".

Guideline Five. It is preferable that ALL three sisters play a part in protecting/saving the innocent(s), though episodes where they're not can be OK. Be wary of the following episodes and anything similar (though, you still CAN pick them, if need be):

- S1E13 "From Fear to Eternity", S1E14 "Secrets & Guys" & S1E20 "The Power of Two", Piper is fairly absent concerning these threats.
- S2E16 "Murphy's Luck" & S2E19 "Ex Libris", Piper did not help much, in these episodes, regarding the innocents, ONLY! Piper only helped out Prue, in S2E16 "Murphy's Luck" and NOT Maggie Murphy!
- All the sisters helped out the innocents in S3!
- S4E12 "Lost & Bound", Phoebe was altered/possessed to really help out much, in this episode. No, being around to say a spell, doesn't really count.
- All the sisters helped out the innocents in S5!
- S6E17 "Hyde School Reunion", Phoebe practically was solo in protecting/saving Ramona & Todd.
- S7E18 "Little Box of Horrors", the sisters were fairly split on the innocents. Paige was soloing to protect/save the innocents in the elevator, while Phoebe & Piper were helping out Hope. Paige came to help Hope, briefly, in the end.
- S7E19 "Freaky Phoebe", Paige was solo protecting/saving Mitchell, and it's more of a B-Plot than an A-Plot.
- S8E7 "The Lost Picture Show", Phoebe was too busy trying to find a donor than helping out with J.D.
- S8E8 "Battle of the Hexes", the sisters were fairly split on the innocents. Paige was soloing to protect/save Speed, meanwhile Phoebe & Piper focused on protecting the male species.
- S8E12 "Payback's a Witch", Phoebe didn't do much except helped make a potion, in the end. Otherwise, Piper & Paige did most of the work including Billie.
- S8E17 "Generation Hex", both Phoebe & Paige were absent from helping Piper with Jen & Ryan (Leo's students from Magic School).
- S8E19 "The Jung & the Restless", Paige is solo protecting/saving Mikelle, and it's a B-Plot than an A-Plot.

Guideline Six. It is preferable that the innocents (and threats) be only a one-time thing, including not a main character like Leo, Cole, Andy, etc. The episodes are still OK but be wary of these episodes (though, you still CAN pick them, if need be) and anything similar (will make exceptions for first appearance episodes):

- Andy innocent from S1E22 "Deja Vu All Over, Again"
- Barbas threat from S2E9 "Ms. Hellfire", though S1E13 "From Fear to Eternity" can be used as that was his "first appearance".
- Bane innocent from S2E15 "Give Me a Sign"
- Dr. Curtis Williamson from S2E20 "Astral Monkey"
- Reese Davidson innocent from S3E16 "Death Takes a Halliwell"
- Leo innocent in S4E17 "Saving Private Leo"
- Leprechaun innocents from S5E17 "Lucky Charmed" & Nymphs from S5E19 "Nymphs Just Wanna Have Fun", though those are their first appearances.
- Richard & his family innocent from S6E5 "Love's a Witch" & Magic School from S6E14 "The Legend of Sleepy Halliwell", though those are their first appearances.
- Avatar Threat from S7E13 "Charmageddon"
- Nox Demon Threat from S8E17 "Generation Hex"

EDIT: Will (also) add that will make an exception for different actors/characters playing said species/creatures, for example different leprechaun actors between S5E17 "Lucky Charmed", S6E18 "Spin City", S8E13 "Repo Manor", etc.

Guideline Seven. Power balance is not required but just keep it in mind how well the powers are balanced out between the sisters, like in the following episodes:

Season One
1. S1E6 "The Wedding from Hell" - You know, I used to really dislike this episode, but it's been growing on me, lately. It definitely ticks all of the boxes, in my guidelines, so it sits pretty up there, for me, these days. It really showcases what this thread is about, and what I'm looking for, with this challenge.

2. S1E7 "The Fourth Sister" - Despite Kali's main focus being the Charmed Ones, Aviva is still an innocent that needed proper guidance (along with an extensive backstory). Not to mention, this is a great episode in displaying the power balance between all three sisters. Phoebe gets a premonition, and Prue & Piper combine their powers to vanquish Kali. It's beautiful!

3. S1E8 "The Truth is Out There...and it Hurts" - Similar to S1E6 "The Wedding from Hell", although Prue could've had a bigger role in protecting Tonya than she had, but I digress. Prue was still there for the vanquish with Piper, while Phoebe protected Tonya, at all times.

4. S1E20 "The Power of Two" - Despite Piper being fairly absent from this episode (nor having an innocent with an extensive backstory), what I like about this episode is "what if it was just Phoebe & Prue"? This episode shows what their dynamic duo brings to the table. Phoebe has two different premonitions, Prue is TKing and brewing potions and OFC, Andy tags along and helps them out, too. And, I really do love Andy. I could've chosen S1E21 "Love Hurts" to still get my Phoebe & Prue duo with Piper still being present but even with Piper present, Piper seemed more focused on saving Leo than Daisy, but I digress.  I like S1E20 "The Power of Two" better, so.

Season Two
1. S2E4 "The Devil's Music" - Masselin is an AMAZING threat! All three sisters did an amazing job, doing their part, even Piper (despite being cranky towards Leo). We do get SOME minor backstory behind some of the innocents, but I do like how Leo had to FORCE this threat, to Piper's club, as in, this threat wasn't seeking out the Charmed Ones, so that's why I like it.

2. S2E7 "They're Everywhere" - This is a GREAT episode, that fulfills this challenge's purpose. All three sisters are working, together. We have plenty of backstory, on our innocent. The innocent has been in the Manor. The power balance between the sisters is beautifully handled, it's a one-time deal and not a recycle/repeat/reuse. Excellent episode!

3. S2E13 "Animal Pragmatism" - This is more of a big threat that needs to be dealt with, despite the threat seeking out Phoebe, in particular. They hurt many people, along the way. Not to mention, the power balance in this episode is great, as well.

4. S2E19 "Ex Libris" - Even though, Piper (once again) is missing in helping out both Phoebe & Prue with things, I'm choosing innocent backstory over needing all three sisters to be present. I love Charlene, and I love the different angle approach in "protecting/saving the innocent(s)". It's more about seeking justice, but the right way and not trying to be like S2E2 "Morality Bites" LOL

Season Three
1. S3E2 "Magic Hour" - This is a pretty well balanced out episode in regards to power balance and innocent backstory. I'm a little disappointed that the threats are recycled/repeated/reused concept/idea of Darklighters, but I can forgive it, since I have other priorities over that. Especially because Darklighters aren't really used all that often (like Warlocks), as opposed to the many Demons being used, but I digress. A pretty good episode.

2. S3E3 "Once Upon a Time" - It may seem like Piper didn't help much, but she really did even with her conversation with Kate, to convince her to stay. Also, Phoebe doesn't have a premonition, in this episode, but she does levitate, and this episode is still good on the power balance, along with an innocent backstory.

3. S3E11 "Blinded by the Whitelighter" - More of a big threat situation, that needed to be handled, but all three sisters did work really well, together, in this episode including balancing out their powers.

4. S3E14 "The Good, the Bad & the Cursed" - All three sisters did help in this situation, including the dying Phoebe. We have innocent backstory, the only issue is the power imbalance. Piper didn't freeze anything, in this episode. Only Phoebe & Prue used their powers. Though, Piper did go to the town, with Leo, to do investigative work. And even instructed Phoebe to try to give Bo a premonition and attempt communication. So, that made up for Piper's lack of not freezing anything.

Season Four
1. S4E4 "Enter the Demon" - Phoebe doesn't have any premonitions, but she still levitates and even utilizes her martial arts abilities, in this episode, so the power balance between the sisters is still pretty well done, along with working together to help Anling and her father the Zen Master. Not to mention, cute Phoebe & Paige sisterly moments LOL

2. S4E5 "Size Matters" - We don't have much of a backstory on Claudia, but Gamil is still a threat that needed to be taken care of. This is (also) a great episode in showcasing a balance in power usage, and how well the sisters worked together, in solving/cracking the case.

3. S4E8 "Black as Cole" - We don't get much backstory on our innocent (Susan Coleman). Emma (not really the innocent) takes up most of the backstory slot. That being said, I find this episode interesting that Phoebe & Piper only used their basic powers and not their secondary powers. Phoebe doesn't levitate, and Piper doesn't blow anything up. Phoebe only has a premonition, and Piper only freezes things. On the other hand, Paige doesn't really use any of her active powers, at all. She really only brewed a potion and helped slice off a flesh from Sykes. This is a good "what if" episode, if Phoebe & Piper continued forward without Prue's powers, as Paige didn't use her's.

4. S4E11 "Trial by Magic" - Interestingly enough, I don't think Paige ever really uses her powers, here, either LOL It's still a good episode, though, nonetheless. I believe Piper's the only one using both of her active powers, though she freezes things more than she blows them up. Got a lovely innocent backstory, as well.

Season Five
1. S5E1 "A Witch's Tail, Pt 1" - I (mainly) really only like the innocents Mylie & Greg. That's the extent of it.

2. S5E2 "A Witch's Tail, Pt 2" - I do find the threat of Necron to be intriguing, and his vanquish is quite epic. That's about it, for this episode.

3. S5E6 "The Eyes Have it" - Probably the best episode S5 has to offer, in regards to this challenge. Nothing more to say.

4. S5E14 "Sand Francisco Dreamin'" - Surprisingly enough, there's a great power balance, in this episode (yes, Phoebe has a premonition, in this episode). All three sisters working together to protect the Sandman. And a cute sisterly moment, in the end.

Season Six
1. S6E5 "Love's a Witch" - IK Richard is a recycle/repeat/reuse, but S6 doesn't have a lot of episodes with this theme in mind. We do get some power balances, though, same with the sisters working together (even if Paige didn't want them to LOL)

2. S6E7 "Soul Survivor" - Pretty self explanatory.

3. S6E9 "Little Monsters" - Same as S6E7 "Soul Survivor".

4. S6E15 "I Dream of Phoebe" - IK I chose this over S6E14 "The Legend of Sleepy Halliwell" only because I want to save my "Magic School" recycle/repeat/reuse, for a different episode LOL This episode (S6E15 "I Dream of Phoebe") is a good "big threat" episode.

Season Seven
1. S7E5 "Styx Feet Under" - Even with Piper as another Angel of Death, and Paige "dying", all three sisters still did a good job in protecting the innocent, in this episode including Phoebe.

2. S7E8 "Charmed Noir" - It's start off with rescuing Paige but in turn saving Eddie. I believe only Phoebe used her powers and no one else which is fine, considering the episode. All three sisters worked really well, together in cracking the case.

3. S7E18 "Little Box of Horrors" - Despite their split, this episode (both A & B Plots) are innocent focused.

4. S7E19 "Freaky Phoebe" - Despite Paige being the only one helping an innocent with the backstory, the fact he has a backstory, at all, is quite impressive. Even for a B-Plot. Plus, there is some power balance (kind of) in this episode, among the sisters.

Season Eight
1. S8E3 "Run, Piper, Run" - Both Phoebe & Piper only use their basic powers and not their secondary powers, which I find interesting. Though, Phoebe's premonition had nothing to do with the innocent but still. All three sisters worked well, together, to save the innocent.

2. S8E7 "The Lost Picture Show" - Despite Phoebe being fairly absent from helping out, the rest of the guidelines are still checked off like innocent backstory, innocent was at the manor, one-time innocent and threat, etc.

3. S8E11 "Mr. & Mrs. Witch" - The only thing that holds this episode back is the recycle/repeat/reuse of Billie's parents, though they only appear in 2 episodes. There's still a bigger threat, at large, scheming a business, and all three sisters worked together to help stop it. It's why I chose this episode.

4. S8E12 "Payback's a Witch" - Again, even though Phoebe only helped with the Potion Making, it's still a pretty good episode in directing Nick Edwards in the proper pathway. Even if the demons were after Billie.

Because of my S1 Power Balance thread, I'm changing my mind about this:

Season One
1. S1E6 "The Wedding from Hell" - You know, I used to really dislike this episode, but it's been growing on me, lately. It definitely ticks all of the boxes, in my guidelines, so it sits pretty up there, for me, these days. It really showcases what this thread is about, and what I'm looking for, with this challenge.

2. S1E7 "The Fourth Sister" - Despite Kali's main focus being the Charmed Ones, Aviva is still an innocent that needed proper guidance (along with an extensive backstory). Not to mention, this is a great episode in displaying the power balance between all three sisters. Phoebe gets a premonition, and Prue & Piper combine their powers to vanquish Kali. It's beautiful!

3. S1E8 "The Truth is Out There...and it Hurts" - Similar to S1E6 "The Wedding from Hell", although Prue could've had a bigger role in protecting Tonya than she had, but I digress. Prue was still there for the vanquish with Piper, while Phoebe protected Tonya, at all times.

4. S1E20 "The Power of Two" - Despite Piper being fairly absent from this episode (nor having an innocent with an extensive backstory), what I like about this episode is "what if it was just Phoebe & Prue"? This episode shows what their dynamic duo brings to the table. Phoebe has two different premonitions, Prue is TKing and brewing potions and OFC, Andy tags along and helps them out, too. And, I really do love Andy. I could've chosen S1E21 "Love Hurts" to still get my Phoebe & Prue duo with Piper still being present but even with Piper present, Piper seemed more focused on saving Leo than Daisy, but I digress.  I like S1E20 "The Power of Two" better, so.

Note: The MOST power balanced episode, but I wouldn't necessarily agree ALL three sisters were working together until the very end. HOWEVER, I think this episode does a better job in comparison to S1E18 "When Bad Warlocks Go Good" due to NEITHER Phoebe NOR Piper using their powers/abilities AT ALL, towards the case, in that episode, but I digress. At least, in S1E4 "Dead Man Dating", Phoebe DID have a premonition regarding Wong, and Prue DID use her TK against Wong & his gang. And, OFC, Piper DEFINITELY helped out in this case, in a season where she's incredibly absent, for the most part, but I digress.

2. S1E6 "The Wedding from Hell"

Note: I have MASSIVELY changed my mind about this episode, over the years. I USED to really hate it but now looking at it from a different lens, this episode couldn't be anymore what I want from the show. "Protect/Save the Innocent(s)" themed, power balance, and ALL three being there, participating and helping. Even if I'm still dissatisfied with the final vanquish, it doesn't change everything else about it. No one sister felt overshadowed nor excluded, so that's (also) a bonus.

3. S1E7 "The Fourth Sister"

Note: A fantastic episode of them working together including combining their powers. What a vanquish in Piper freezing Kali and then Prue TKs a frozen Kali, back into the mirror. Technically, S1E6 "The Wedding from the Hell" was the first to showcase Piper freezing something, first then Prue TKs frozen enemies, unlike S1E6 "The Wedding from Hell", S1E7 "The Fourth Sister" uses this mechanic on the "final boss", so to speak, rather than "the minions", as seen in S1E6 "The Wedding from Hell". This episode could've had ALL three sisters working together a little bit better, but (at least) they were ALL there, for the final vanquish. Even if Phoebe couldn't do much, it's understandable considering she hasn't learned her Strength, yet, but I like seeing ALL three of them together, for the final vanquish and/or any of the fights, really. As that is the point of the show, in my opinion, at least, but I digress.

4. S1E15 "Is There a Woogy, in the House?"

Note: A good episode for power balance, but a little bit questionable on the "Protect/Save the Innocent(s)" theme, though they DID have to save EVERYONE the Woogy was effecting and NOT just Phoebe, but I digress. Phoebe was definitely concerned about it, though she was "Woogified" (if you will) and couldn't really help much which left Prue & Piper to crack the case. And, ALL three of them were there, in the "final fight" if you will.

1. S2E4 "The Devil's Music" - Masselin is an AMAZING threat! All three sisters did an amazing job, doing their part, even Piper (despite being cranky towards Leo). We do get SOME minor backstory behind some of the innocents, but I do like how Leo had to FORCE this threat, to Piper's club, as in, this threat wasn't seeking out the Charmed Ones, so that's why I like it.

2. S2E7 "They're Everywhere" - This is a GREAT episode, that fulfills this challenge's purpose. All three sisters are working, together. We have plenty of backstory, on our innocent. The innocent has been in the Manor. The power balance between the sisters is beautifully handled, it's a one-time deal and not a recycle/repeat/reuse. Excellent episode!

3. S2E13 "Animal Pragmatism" - This is more of a big threat that needs to be dealt with, despite the threat seeking out Phoebe, in particular. They hurt many people, along the way. Not to mention, the power balance in this episode is great, as well.

4. S2E19 "Ex Libris" - Even though, Piper (once again) is missing in helping out both Phoebe & Prue with things, I'm choosing innocent backstory over needing all three sisters to be present. I love Charlene, and I love the different angle approach in "protecting/saving the innocent(s)". It's more about seeking justice, but the right way and not trying to be like S2E2 "Morality Bites" LOL

Switching out S2E4 "The Devil's Music" for S2E10 "Heartbreak City" due to what I said in the S2 Episode(s) That Uses ALL Three Sisters Abilities thread:

Note: Not really the best in power balance (mostly, on Phoebe's end), BUT what I like about this episode is that Phoebe has BOTH a premonition AND uses her Strength, in the SAME episode! Her first time doing this is back in S1E20 "The Power of Two", but THIS particular episode is the first time she's done it with ALL three of her sisters using their powers/abilities, as well. So, this is a FANTASTIC episode in showcasing ALL the powers/abilities that ALL of the sisters possess. So, it DOES make sense, why BOTH Prue & Piper have to increase their power/ability usage, since Phoebe IS using BOTH of her Premonitions & Strength, in this episode.

S2E10 "Heartbreak City"

Note: While, BOTH Phoebe & Prue do NOT use their primary power/ability, they ARE using their secondary, which I think is cool. Despite, BOTH Prue & Piper being on dates, they were still around in helping out in ALL of the fights, which I like to see.

S2E13 "Animal Pragmatism"

Note: A rare episode to see Phoebe not only having Premonitions but (also) using her Strength, in the SAME episode. Same with Prue using her TK & AP, but BOTH of them using BOTH their primary & secondary, in the SAME episode? REALLY rare to see! With Piper still freezing. Phoebe is only missing out on a little bit of the fighting because she had to fix a spell gone wrong. Otherwise, Phoebe was still proactive on the case. Piper only was part of the case until the tail end of it, but I like how she was able to freeze during the final fight, with Prue TKing (along side her). Phoebe used her Strength, in one of the earlier fights along with having a Premonition, which I thought was cool, but I digress.

S2E19 "Ex Libris"
