it would ruin the show's legacy by filming something which depends on lots of visual effects and magic and demons.
otherwise, charmed has a great storybase from which a starwars or lord of the rings type movie series can be created. magic should be used only in magical moments.. and they should change the concept of magic a little.

You should think that at least the founder of thecharmedones.com should have some info about this movie, but no info has come from that side yet. For now i will first believe it when it becomes official on IMDB.

Where and when would this movie (TV or theatre-based) start?
It can't start at the end of season eight with the sisters writing in the book...because we know everything will still turn out fine. I for one would like a bit of guessing game as to what the future really holds for them.
It can't start at the end of the series (when Piper is 80 years old) because there's just waaaay to much ground to cover--50 years to be exact--before the movie itself would actually begin.
...and another thing. If there was a movie to be made, it would have to be the absolute ending of the family one way or the other--and we already know the sisters live on for many decades. Making a movie just to make a movie (or money) is not a good reason to do it.

That is great news and your right for all the things you've said about the realties of the situation. Another thing to consider why hasn't Holly Marie done anything. She's capable of doing other things. But she knows that this was in the back of her mind. She was a producer along with Alyssa Milano, who is other one that will be back( just a hunch) Rose McGowan will not. Even though I liked her and she did a good job in the begining but in the end she was terrible at acting and if not being the third sister she would be vilivied for the gasps and stop and like she was just waiting for the show to be over with. I think is good news. I don't need another sister and the future that Kern wrote could happen but the future was supposed to have Prue in it as well and that changed so things can change if it's written well and accepted. Just like for the most part Rose (Paige) was accepted so to will this new approach be also. They can bring the sons back if Holly and Alyssa are on board.

You know, i would not be surpriced if they get the idea to make Prue return as a Whitelighter. We have no idea what has happened to her in her afterlife since season 4.

If they even are making this alleged movie (which I'm still skeptical about), do you honestly think they could get Shannen back for it?

Only if Brad Kern had nothing to do with it! Shannen no longer has to worry about Aaron Spelling...

As I've said before, I truly doubt that there will be a Charmed movie for another 10-20 years when they do a remake with totally different actresses playing the roles, like they've done with shows from the 70's (The Fugitive, Charlie's Angels, Mission Impossible, The Dukes of Hazzard, Bewitched...), but it's fun to speculate about what such a movie could be like. That's all we're truly doing.

You know at this point why would you want to bring Shannen back. She and Rose have nothing but bad things to say about the show why would you want to bring back either one. I liked Shannen on the show when she played Prue not knowing anything about what took place with her and Kern and Spelling and Alyssa but later found out. She hasn't had anything but bad things to say about the show. The same with Rose. In any interview while she was on the show she never talked about being on the show and acted like she didn't want to talk about the show at all. Then in interviews after the series ended she bashed the show. From this point on the movie can happen and and with Leo and Piper and Phoebe and Chris and Wyatt the movie can continue with other actors playing the departed Prue and Paige. These other actors other than Alyssa are not being tapped as potential hireable commodities. Rose has done movies but she is not a star by any means and Alyssa has potential pilots that haven't gotten off the ground. Holly has been busy having another child. The rerun money has probably supplied them with an affordable living.

When did Rose ever bash the show in interviews?

When did Rose ever bash the show in interviews? Perhaps this interview made by SciFi and a few commends she made: www.scifi.com/sfw/interviews/sfw12717.htmlGuessing she wont be one of the returnees for an eventual movie. In an interview with one of the most respected networks you don't say a line like " How is it possible to cancel something that doesn't exist?" , that can be pulled out and turned around to something extremely negative talk about Charmed. The press are like hungry wolves and just waiting for mishaps like this so they can slaughter you.

Here, Rose is referring to the fact that she and Alyssa wanted to call it quits after Season 8 ended, so she was criticizing the semantics of saying that Charmed was "canceled" when the plan was to end it after Season 8 anyway.
Here, Rose is obviously referring to the period of time at the end of Season 7, when the WB made Kern, the cast, and the crew wait until the very last minute before informing them whether they'd get an eighth season. You can't blame Rose for being pissed about that. Hell, Holly was so pissed about it that she publicly refused to pack up her trailer until she knew for sure that there wouldn't be a Season 8.
Since Rose was probably offered the chance to become a producer at the beginning of Season 7, and they didn't know (at that point) if they'd be receiving an eighth season yet (because of the WB's promotional neglect), then I don't blame Rose for not wanting the additional responsibility of becoming a producer.
I still don't see what comments Rose has made that indicates her ruling out doing a potential reunion movie sometime down the road. She's not going to be young and beautiful forever.

Well referring to your Rose bashing the show she said that she was dissapointed that the series for season 8 was renewed. Here's a quote from Zaptoit here's the site www.zap2it.com/tv/news/zap-031206rosemcgowan,0,3503342.story In any interview she did like Regis and Kelly or any of the them she never seemed excited like Holly was or Alyssa was and in that exert posted Holly and Alyssa were remorsed that the series was over but not Rose. I'm fine with her not liking it and she has her opinion but if she doesn't like doing it then I don't won't her to come back. Her last season acting was pathetic when her first year was so good. You could tell she didn't care.

Well, Rose wasn't as attached to the show as Holly and Alyssa were, but as a movie actress she wanted to move on from TV. I can understand that. But I wouldn't call it "bashing."

Well, looking at how much Piper, Phoebe and Paige are total experts in the supernatural and always seems to can figure out who or what did this and that, that gives you a totally new approach on a brand new show. The 3 sisters working together with crime investigation units all over the US to solve crimes that goes beyond the natural ways they have to solve these cases. CBS Proudly presents: C.S.I : CHARMED Naaa, just a dumb idea from the top of my head But you know, this is what could have happened if Charmed had never been born and CBS had 2 drafts on their tables for 2 brand new shows today: Charmed and a supernatural C.S.I Combine and decode to one show and save money. But i do wonder though how this would have looked like, the 3 sisters running arround like forensic agents solving crime...the charmed way.

I too think that the show should go back to it's darker roots. The best way to do this is too make evil smarter and more diabolical. I've watched Heroes all year long and what made that series so appealing is the writers keep you guessing. Charmed failed to do that in the end. The movie version has to hit a home run. They need to take the campiness out the series but not the humor. The key things is to have an agenda like bring back the source with a great guest star. Patrick Stewart could guest as the numero uno for the good guys(aka top elder ...so to speak....God-like character) Paige should not be in the movie. The sister should be split up for the first time that way they have to rely on their own magic. They must leave the manor. The Manor was the original series staple but they should strive to get back there; that could one of the goals if there is a pending series attached to the movie. There are lot of things to think about
