I don't think that the Warrens' Book of Shadows was the greatest one. I think that it was special, because it was the sisters' personal sigil - symbol created for a specific magical purpose - or their ka - namely the embodiment of their souls as the Power of Three.
If this is true, I wonder if other witches have their own sigil or ka.

I think thats why the charmed book of shadows was the most wanted book by demons. Remember when the demons got the book and they looked through it and said that theres a vanquish for every demon they had ever come across. |

For all we know, later Warren witches (such as Brianna or Astrid) could have brushed paths with Belthazor - - they were just unable to vanquish him. So they put him in the Book of Shadows to warn future generations.

i cant send the charmed book of shadows through email anymore. Its to big to send. So im mailing it out over ebay. there are 4 total dics and its all 700mb each disc.

Undertheirspell, thanks for the source, but you are absolutely wrong about the Elders with respect to the Book of Shadows. As I have explained in several other threads (really the proliferation of threads on the same topic is getting ridiculous), there is evidence aplenty that the Elders placed spells in the Book of Shadows. To name but a few: the two spells in Morality Bites that sent the Charmed Ones to the future were placed there by the Elders. And, the Suxen spell was placed there too. Phoebe clearly has read the Book - or a version of it - from cover to cover in Episode 1. Yet, she doesn't seem aware at all of the Suxen spell. Why?

ok and i have read my own book of shadows cover to cover and i still dont know every spell thats in thebook. That doesnt explain anything. Everyone is intitled to there own opinion. You have no right in telling anyone they are wrong.

Of course, I have the right to state my opinion that you are absolutely wrong. What you have to do is to explain the evidence that I have cited that points in the direction of my conclusion. The Suxen spell is known to Sandra, but not the sisters who by now have spent seven seasons going through that book cover to cover? How do you explain the debasement of the Belthazor entry by Phoebe and furious Piper's rub outs that magically disappear?
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, I suppose. But, you would surely laugh out loud if I told you that the Book of Shadows is nothing more than the crayon screed Piper cherished in Brain Drain. How do you know that all of Charmed is not simply something dreamt up in Piper's head as a result of an aneurysm she suffered upon Gram's death?
Evidence, that's what matters. How you dissect it, analyze it and construct a plausible explanation. I invite you to read our analysis of the Book of Shadows in the V.I.P. section. It's most fascinating.

That's why this thread existed previously in the V.I.P. section. That's where topics are debated. However, as you will have surely noted, when bold statements are made, there are usually a few hawks out there circling for the kill. Or, maybe we are vultures. I don't know. In the event, there's no need to debate. Just remember that not all opinions are worth the air expended, the cloud created, or the odor emitted.

I appreciate your honesty. However, if you review all of the postings in this thread, you will note that Arch Angel and ljones both made comments that went beyond your narrow purpose. Wisely or unwisely, you ventured an opinion in response to their postings. I merely commented on your comment. In the event, I have taken the liberty of pasting your e-bay information to my own site: charmedverse.proboards74.comand placed it in my Charmed resources section. I also took the liberty of placing an order on e-bay. Whether you offended any of the powers that be by constructing such a narrowly construed thread is not my call. Not that this seems to be the right thread for this, but it is about the book of shadows. Oddly enough, in the show Supernatural tonight, there was a coven of witches, not nice ones, who in one scene pray or chant to the a very old book they call the book of shadows. This has nothing to do with the current discussion you two are having, but I just needed a place to post about this minor rippoff on Supernatural.

We all know the Book of Shadows only to be in Charmed but the truth is all Wiccans/Pagans use their own Book of Shadows this is what i found out about it. So yeah really Supernatural didnt rip it off its a common book. |

I'd venture that Phoebe simply didn't realize what a "Suxen" was...she probably assumed it was some random demon she'd never crossed paths with.
