I believe they are pyrite crystals. Its not Pyrite. I just took a closer look at episode Generation Hex just before Piper picks up a protection crystal from the floor. The color does not match. Pyrite is a silver/gold colored crystal that is also known as: Fools Gold. Looking on that crystal she picks up, it looks more like Quartz. i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh228/Hansenmand/ProtectionCrystal.jpg

I guess I didn't actually look at the crystals. I just went off of Paige saying they were pyrite crystals in "Witchstock".

I would still think they are a form of quartz, of which there are many, for the following reason. Quartz refract light and can allow energy to pass through them. Pyrite cannot, as it's mostly an metal ore in crystalline form. It's opaque whereas quartz is translucent, which means some light can get through as it refracts through the crystal. See, a degree in Physics is useful for something.

Spiritkas, quoting physics on this site can be hazardous to the health. Watch out! Thanks for the tutorial, though. Does this mean the show didn't really use mandrake root when making the Belthazor vanquishing potion? And what was in all of those vials?

Probably tea or colored water. The glass was made of special sugar glass, which is an old stunt prop trick, so they break easily and we don't see them bouncing off the floor all the time.

ok so im wonderin if anyone knows what crystals the girls use in charmed to protect themselves. you know the white ones does anyone know what they are?? thanks They have their favorite but it is actually the their casting a spell or doing the ritual (as simple as putting the crystals down) that creates the Magical field, not the crystals themselves Always thought they may have been rock salt crystals as salt has "Evil repelling" qualities that could be ampplified...lol
