I thought I'd already posted my story here, but it was a part of another thread: This one.

Here's my story:

When my brothers and sisters and I were young, we used to pretend that we were witches. My name was always Esmeralda, because it sounded witchy to me. I'm not sure where I got it from, but I'm guessing it was from some cartoon where there was a witch named Esmeralda. My youngest brother always pretended to be my black cat named Shadow.

When I joined the old Cafe in 2003, all forms of Patty Halliwell (my then-favorite character) were already taken and I didn't want a number at the end of my name, because I didn't want people to call me by a name and a number. So I used my old witch name, Esmeralda, although most people shorten it to Es. That's OK--I always shorten names of people I like--less letters to type.

The nice thing about proBoards is if you want people to call you something else, you can always change your screen name. With ezBoard, which the original Cafe was, once you chose a name, that's the only one you could use unless you got a new account. But since so many people know me as Esmeralda, I've kept it.

ETA: At other sites, I often use "Wyatt" as a last name. I was going to do "Halliwell" or "Warren" when I realized that I didn't really want to be a part of that family; I'd much rather be a Wyatt, because I like Leo a lot more than the way the sisters turned out, and because Leo was always my favorite guy until Piper changed him into her little errand boy. Maybe she didn't want to be Mrs. Wyatt, but I would!

On other sites, when Esmeralda has already been chosen, I've used JustEs since so many people call me just Es.

Hi I just discovered how to change the username which is totally cool cause I got the name I wanted. That is Charmed from the show of course, BOS book of shadows and the end of my user name is my real first name Thanh is pronounced T. A.R.N it is a Vietnamese name which means gentle my adopted parents liked the name and decided to keep it. I also wanted to change my username cause I wear a necklace everyday that says: Charmed B.O.S Charmed the show and BOS For Book of Shadows It is my way of having the show with me always. Me and this beautiful show are connected.

Because Melinda Halliwell was Piper's daughter in Morality Bites hence the screen name and the first offspring introduced before Wyatt, Chris and the others obviously.

When I re-registered to the Cafe, a couple of weeks back, I decided to name myself after my two favourite characters, Rex and Hannah (my screen name of my original and now deleted account was tim66).

I live in the country on several acers. We have many animals both wild and domestic. Some time ago there was a barn cat that just showed up. We called him Shadow. He stayed with us for a few years and we finally managed to capture him and have him neutered. Less than a month later I watched him walk across the field never to return. He still haunts me.

I had to look this up as I don't know much about the X-Men, my (X) is generally found in (Files). LOL  Kitty Pride, well that works too has I have felines that are very proud.

Perhaps he found someone who took him in. 

It happened to me with my previous cat, Trilly.  As to how I got her, she just turned up on our back porch one day in 2000. Every time we'd open the door, she'd run into the house. One time, during a visit, she kept jumping up onto my lap. I turned to my mother and said: "I'm keeping her." And I did, until Trilly passed away in 2012.

It's my fanfiction.net author name. As for why I chose it originally, I...really don't know. I guess it's from that shadow demon that Cole and Sykes used, I once wrote a story about it and named it's race as Umbrex demons: a portmanteau of umbra and rex, Latin for shadow and king respectively. In other words, it's Shadowking without being cliche. At least, that was the intention.
