so here is yet another installment in my mini series that i have going on. I hope that you enjoy! ***** Back to the Future Sequel to Bad Moon Rising
******
chapter one
“Well, the elders have given their consent,” Leo said announced although none of the sisters bothered to look up from what they were doing. They were busy making checking spells and fixing potions. “They believe that Wyatt’s safe now and therefore Chris can go home now.”
“Alright, let’s get this show on the road then,” Phoebe said in an overly cheerful tone.
Chris sighed. “Phoebe, I have to go back. You knew this was going to happen eventually.”
Phoebe frowned but nodded. “I know, but now? We just got used to your neurotic ways and you altogether.”
“Yeah, now who’s going to be our obsessive compulsive demon hunting white lighter?” Paige added with a faint smile.
“What we’re trying to say is that we’re going to miss you,” Piper explained.
Chris laughed and nodded. “I’m curious to see what the future is like now. How it’s changed.”
“What about Zoey?” Phoebe asked curiously.
Chris’ smile faded and he stuck his hands in his jacket pockets and shrugged.
“She should be here,” Paige said. “I mean, I know she hates your guts right now because, well you did sleep with her then the after sex conversation was how you didn’t love her anymore.”
Chris gave Paige a look. “Thanks, I almost forgot that,” he said sarcastically.
“I’m just saying that she has a right to know that she isn’t going to see you ever again.”
Chris sighed. “I don’t want her to be here,” he said after a while. He clasped his hands together. “Thanks for putting up with me.”
Phoebe smiled and gave him a big hug. She was going to miss him a lot because even though she couldn’t stand him in the beginning he soon grew on her and she enjoyed hanging out with him. “Take care of yourself and have some fun ok? You deserve it.”
Paige smiled awkwardly and shrugged at him. “Well…keep in touch? Oh, and if you see us in the future, you can reassure us that we still look like goddesses. A lot of flattery never hurts.” Chris laughed and hugged. She patted him on the back. “And thanks for saving my life when you first came.”
Chris smiled modestly at her a blushed a bit. “I promise I will do all the flattering that is humanly possible.” He then turned to Piper who wiped away some tears. “Don’t cry Piper,” Chris said with a soft smile.
“I can’t help it. It’s the hormones.” She sighed and hugged him as closely as she could. At eight months, it was difficult to hug anyone, let alone see her own two feet. “Thank you for everything you’ve done for my family. If you ever need anything, you know where to find us.”
Chris smiled then turned to Leo. He smiled faintly. “Thank you for protecting my son,” Leo said and gave Chris a quick hug. Chris laughed as he recalled Leo being suspicious of him when he had arrived. They all then turned toward the triquetra which had been drawn in pale pink chalk on the wooden attic wall.
“Alright, so we made a potion to be combined with our spell,” Paige said as she handed a blue vile to Chris.
“Here,” Piper said handing him a small black draw-string bag. Chris looked at her curiously. “Think of it as a protection kit; you know, just in case you run into any trouble. Also, there’s a copy of the spell and potion in there just incase you need to get back.”
Chris nodded and smiled then turned to Paige. She sighed and turned to the wall. “Hear these words, here the rhyme….”
“We call upon the ancient powers to heed us in this hour,” Phoebe added.
“Through the sands of both space and time, we ask that you heed this rhyme.”
“Open the door to the place in time in which he wishes to find,” Paige concluded and threw her potion vile at the wall. Everyone else followed suit and the remaining viles cracked at the same time spilling their green and blue liquid over the face of the triquetra.
Instantaneously the triquetra erupted into bright orange flames and in the center a small stream of blue began to grow larger and larger until only the three end points of the triquetra were visible. Chris sighed and was about walk through the portal when suddenly a young woman stepped out and the portal closed as closed just as quickly as it had opened.
******* Zoey waited patiently in the pharmacy as she watched a young kid with bright blue eyes play with a bright red fire truck. He wore a red Santa hat which was too big for him since the white fur lining drooped over his eyes.
His mother smiled down at him and adjusted her bags full of baking ingredients. Zoey sighed and looked around the pharmacy which was decorated for the holidays. There was red tinsel pinned to the counter where the cash register was and ornaments dangling from it. The fluorescent lights seemed to discolor the painted bulbs a little bit. Paper reindeer were taped to the walls and Christmas posters were at the start of each aisle. She then glanced over at a couple who were holding hands while looking lovingly at each other.
“You know, you could always make your own medication,” the man next to her whispered as he boredly flipped through the latest edition of Esquire Magazine.
Zoey blinked and looked at Cole. “One, personal gain; and two, magic is what did this to me so the answer is no.”
Cole nodded. “Magic’s a b!tch.”
Zoey nodded then snatched the magazine out of his hands.
“Hey, I was reading that.”
“No, you weren’t. I need you to promise me that you won’t tell the sisters, Leo or Chris about this. Ok? I don’t want any of them to know about this.”
Cole nodded. “Yeah, yeah.”
“Cole, I’m serious,” Zoey said taking hold of his arm. Cole looked at her. “I don’t like that you’re keeping this a secret, but you have my word.” He snatched the magazine away from her. He flashed Zoey a charming grin. She smiled at him and nodded.
“Zoey Aguilar?” a pharmacist called out. The two got up from where the chairs were in the waiting area and walked up to the desk.
“Here’s your prescription for your migraines,” the pharmacist said holding up an orange-yellow plastic bottle. “You want to take only one of these pills when you feel an attack coming on. Has your doctor already told you that you should watch for negative symptoms such as blood clots or nausea and vomiting?”
Zoey nodded. “Yes he did.”
The pharmacist nodded. “Ok well take the pill after you have eaten or with a meal. Your total comes out to $33.50. Cash or credit card?”
“Credit card,” Cole said as he handed the woman a platinum credit card.
Zoey looked up at him. “Cole I got it thanks.”
“Just let me pay for it. I got it. Save your money.” The woman took the credit card from him and made the transaction.
Zoey smiled and took the bag from the pharmacist. “Thanks.”
End of Chapter One

“Bianca?” Chris said after the feeling of shock slowly receded from his body. There she was, his fiancé in the flesh and blood. But how could it be? He saw her die. But there she was, her beautiful warm brown eyes, her smiling face- she dyed her hair too. It was no longer as dark as it had been but a shade lighter. She smiled brightly at him and rushed over to hug him. It took a while for Chris to register what was going on but he wrapped his arms around her and held her for a long time. “How? I thought you…”
“He saved me,” she explained brushing back some of his hair that had fallen in his face. “I’m to bring you back.”
“Wait a minute,” Phoebe said confused. “Wyatt’s still evil?”
Bianca looked at the charmed ones and Leo. “Unfortunately,” she replied bitterly.
Piper shook her head then looked at Chris. “We need to talk; now.” She glanced at Bianca then back at Chris in a beat. “Privately,” she finished.
Chris nodded and began to make his way out the attic door behind Piper but Bianca didn’t let go of his arm. “Chris, we don’t-”
“He can wait,” Chris interrupted. Bianca gave him a cold look. He turned to the sisters. “Excuse us.” He grabbed Bianca’s hand and led her out of the attic and down into the conservatory.”
“Chris,” Bianca began.
“Just stay here,” Chris said. “Remember the last time you came for me? You tried to kill them. They’re just concerned that’s all.”
Bianca nodded her head reluctantly then smiled up at him. “I missed you Chris,” she said taking hold of his hands.
Chris smiled down at her sweetly. “I missed you too. You have no idea what it was like when I came back.”
Bianca placed her fingers on his lips then pulled him close to her and kissed him passionately. Chris cupped his hand on the back of her neck and deepened the kiss. When he broke it, it left them both breathless. Chris smiled. “I’ll be right back,” he said then orbed up to the attic.
“I thought we saved him,” Piper said as Chris orbed in. “What went wrong?”
“What do you think Wyatt wants with you?” Leo asked curiously.
Chris shrugged. “I did outsmart him and escape last time. Chances are when I go back he’s going to make sure that doesn’t happen to me again.”
“So what, he’s going to kill you is that what you mean?” Paige said.
Chris sighed. “I don’t know. All I know is that somehow I didn’t save the future like we all believed I had. I mean, we vanquished the last Ancient and we destroyed the Council. That’s why I stayed these extra months- to make sure that there were no more threats.”
“Apparently there still is one,” Piper said irritated. She sighed. “I’m sorry Chris. It’s not your fault.”
“Yes, it is. I was supposed to stop your son from turning evil but I failed at that.”
“So what do we do now?” Phoebe asked folding her arms in front of her chest.

Zoey sighed as she unlocked the front door and entered the manor. She placed her coat on the coat rack and headed into the conservatory reading the pamphlet on migraines she had picked up at the pharmacy. At the sight of Zoey, Bianca lit a vibrant blue energy ball and flung it at her.
Zoey, upon reflex, dodged the oncoming ball. She looked over at Bianca. “What the….?” She dodged another energy ball and fell to the floor flat on her stomach dropping everything she had in her hand.
Zoey got back up to her feet and lit a bright green fire ball and sent it at Bianca but the witch shimmered and appeared in front of Zoey and punched her in the jaw knocking Zoey into the couch. She made to punch Zoey again but Zoey grabbed hold of her arm and noticed the orange red birth mark. Zoey’s eyes became a bright violet and she kicked Bianca in the chest with her black stiletto heel. Bianca smacked hard into the table then fell off and fell to the floor. Bianca shimmered and tried to fight Zoey but Zoey dodged her punches then back handed her, with her rings scraping Bianca’s cheeks.
Bianca made contact with Zoey’s face then quickly round house kicked her causing Zoey fly into the wall. Zoey quickly recovered, shimmered and appeared with a punch to the face causing Bianca to crash into the door frame that led into the living room. Bianca picked herself up with some difficulty. She had never been hit that hard, physically, by a witch. Her vision was going from normal to blurry.
Zoey smiled smugly. “I didn’t know how fragile Phoenixes were; they bleed too easily.”
Bianca charged at Zoey and began to throw punches one after another. Zoey blocked every punch except the last two. Bianca swung her leg in a fan kick but Zoey caught a firm hold of her ankle and with no effort at all, swung Bianca and let go causing her to fly and smack into the stairs.
“What the hell is…?” Piper didn’t get a chance to finish. Bianca got up with blood dripping down from both her lip and forehead and charged at Zoey. As quick as light, Zoey grabbed Bianca by her throat and raised her up off the ground. An atheme formed in Bianca’s hand and she tried to stab Zoey except grabbed her wrist with her free hand and snapped it. Bianca cried out in pain. Zoey smiled happily.
“Zoey don’t!” Chris shouted rushing down the last flight of stairs. Zoey didn’t look at him, instead her violet eyes watched the suffering Phoenix with amusement.
“Zoey don’t!” Chris repeated more firmly. “She’s my fiancé.”
Zoey dropped Bianca. “What?!”
Chris ignored her and began to work on healing Bianca. Zoey stormed out of the living room.
“We can explain,” Paige said chasing after Zoey.
“Explain what? How Chris is a little lying a$s whole?” Zoey demanded.
“Well…that’s a gimme. But see, Bianca came through the time portal that we created to send Chris home.”
Zoey looked at Paige. “What? Where was I when this was happening?”
“At work,” Phoebe answered a little too anxiously.
Zoey shook her head. “I can’t believe this!”
“What’s this?” Piper asked picking up the prescription bottle. Piper read the label and glanced at Zoey. “Migraine medication?”
“How long were you going to keep this from us?” Paige asked folding her arms across her chest.
“Well now I guess I should tell Cole that he doesn’t have to keep a secret,” Zoey said dryly.
“He knew? Why didn’t you come to us?” Phoebe asked. “We could’ve helped you.”
“Help me, how? With magic- because we all know how that helps, don’t we?” she laughed. “I don’t need magic. All I need is to not feel like my head is being bashed in every time there’s a shift in the earth or some big bad is coming. I just need a moment of peace where I don’t feel any type of shift be it in the air or earth or whatever. The only time I got that was when I was almost dead.”
Piper looked past Zoey to where Chris was standing in the doorway. Zoey turned and he walked away. Zoey followed after him up the stairs and into the attic. “Chris.”
“No, don’t even start,” he said angrily. “I don’t know how you think that dying is a way to solve your problems. You’ve got to be sick to think that.”
“Then maybe I am,” she countered icily her eyes a deep violet. “Magic has done nothing but make my life a living hell. It took away Ronnie and Summer, it took away Bryan and it took away James. Not to mention that it killed those five people at the church, or that it screwed me over literally. I have to live constantly in fear that Jake might be next one day. Magic has only screwed up my life and I wish it was never a part of my life.”
Chris shook his head at her. “So then we were nothing to you? You wouldn’t have met me or the others if it wasn’t for magic.”
“Yeah, well it would’ve saved me the pain of being hurt by you,” she countered coldly.
Chris sighed. “I didn’t tell you because I though it best not to.”
Zoey laughed. “You thought it best to leave things heated between us? How cowardly Christopher.”
“Trust me it was better this way. Besides, it’s not like you’re around much nowadays,” he commented looking at her coldly.
Zoey shook her head at him. “I still had a right to know Chris,” she said tears forming in her eyes. “You should have told me. Called me or something, just something.”
“You never answer your phone and you always find an excuse to leave the manor.”
“God Chris! I can’t just go around like nothing has happened. I just buried to good friends in less two months and you…I can’t act friendly towards someone who’s hurt me as bad as you have. I just can’t do that. It’s hard enough that you visit the manor on a daily basis without feeling used.”
“I didn’t use you Zoey,” Chris stated.
“Oh no? Then what do you call sleeping with me and then telling me that you don’t love me anymore and never will?”
Chris fell silent and just blinked. He couldn’t tell her why he had done that. He could barely forgive himself for hurting her like that. There were other ways to end their relationship but he wasn’t thinking at the time. Zoey shook her head. “You don’t care about that do you? You don’t care that I get hurt, just as long as Chris feels good about it right?” Chris still didn’t answer. She wiped her tears. “Fine; I don’t care anymore Chris. I don’t need to deal with this sh!t. I’ve had enough of it. I’ll make it easier for the both of us.” She turned and walked out of the attic.
Chris picked up the nearest thing he could find which happened to be a small pocket dictionary and threw it violently at the wall. “Damn it!” he cursed then kicked over the wooden chair. He sat down and pulled his knees to his chest and placed his forehead on his arms.
“What’d the chair ever do to you?” Bianca asked as she entered the attic and picked up the chair. Chris didn’t reply nor did he even glance up at her. How was he going to explain Zoey or himself for that matter? Everything seemed to be happening so suddenly that he didn’t even know where to begin. Should he just disregard everything that had happened this past year and a half- or should he just tell her what she wants to know?
Bianca smiled awkwardly. “Does she always act like that?”
“She could’ve killed you,” he said, his voice muffled by the position he was in.
“But she didn’t,” Bianca said sitting down on the chair in front of him.
“You’re lucky,” he continued. “She was just playing with you.”
“Playing with me?!” she exclaimed. “That psycho b!tch wasn’t playing Chris.”
He looked up at her and sighed. “Zoey likes to play with her victims before she kills them.” He paused. “Why did you attack her in the first place?”
“I figured killing her would keep her from killing people in the future,” she replied matter of fact like.
Chris shook his head. “No that can’t be; she’s not evil. Sure she may get a little carried away when we vanquish demons but I know her too well.”
“I can tell,” Bianca said coldly as she crossed her arms across her chest and looked down at him, her eyes holding him in an icy stare.
Chris hesitated before speaking. “H-How much did you hear?”
“Enough; but that still leaves you with some blanks to fill in.”
Chris stood up and walked over to the book of shadows where it laid upon its pedestal. “What do you want me to say Bianca? I thought I had lost you.”
“So you just find the first bimbo you see and sleep with her?” Bianca demanded rising up from her chair.
“It wasn’t like that Bianca,” Chris stated firmly.
“The timeline would have changed Chris,” she continued, “all of what happened would have changed. You knew that.”
“It’s complicated,” Chris reasoned. “Zoey was there for me when I needed her. She helped me through a lot of stuff and helped me to stop worrying if I was going to die that day or not.”
Bianca looked at him harshly. “So did I Chris. I have been there for you longer than she has. I was there when Wyatt came to power, I was there when we helped form a resistance; I was there when you thought that nothing was possible for providing a better life. I was there when we figured out a way to get you back to the past.”
Chris looked down at the cover of the book. He remembered the hologram that took place of the actual book of shadows and how he and Bianca had conjured it, risking their lives, to find the spell to travel back in time. He remembered how cold and dark his world was and supposedly still is.
Bianca looked away from him, warm tears stained her cheeks. Her heart was breaking. “Do you love me?”
“Yes,” Chris replied looking at her.
She turned and looked at Chris. “Was she better than me?”
“Bianca don’t,” Chris said.
“Just answer the question Chris. Is she better than me?”
Chris remained silent. He refused to answer the question. Bianca nodded and put her hand over her face. “Bianca,” he said walking up to her.
“Don’t, please don’t,” she sobbed. Chris ignored her and embraced her in his arms.
“I’m so sorry Bianca,” he whispered.
Bianca hugged him back tightly. “Do you still love her?” she whispered.
“No,” he replied quietly.

“Jake,” Paige said with a smile as she greeted the tall young man at the front door. “Are you looking for Zoey?”
Jake nodded. “She called me to come by,” he explained as Paige let him into the manor. “Is everything alright? I mean, she didn’t sound too happy over the phone.”
Paige grinned awkwardly at the young man and clasped her hands together. “It’s complicated,” she said slowly.
Jake smiled. “How complicated?” Paige motioned her head to where Bianca was coming down the stairs with Chris. Jake looked to where Paige had motioned and shook his head. “Who’s that?”
“That would be Bianca: Chris’ fiancé from the future,” Paige said. She smiled faintly. “Not that complicated I guess.”
“You’re fiancé?” Jake exclaimed unbelievably.
“My words exactly,” Jason said as he entered the manor with his wife. He walked up to Paige, “Does Zoey know about this?”
Paige nodded. “Yup, she found out right before she almost killed Bianca.”
“Oh,” Jason said then looked coldly at Chris.
Jake shook his head. “I should’ve known,” he said.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Bianca demanded looking at him icily.
Jake smiled. “Why don’t you ask your fiancé? I’m sure he’s good with explanations.”
“Jake why don’t you just mind your own business?” Chris stated, not in the mood for more riffs to be started.
“It is my business if Zoey’s in it,” Jake said stepping in front of Chris. “Especially when a punk a$s jerk like you keeps hurting her.”
“Back off Jake, I don’t need to hear this from you.”
“No you don’t, what you need is your a$s to be kicked,” Jake countered.
Chris stepped up to him, “I’d like to see you try.”
“Boys!” Piper said rushing up to them. “There will be no ass kicking in my house at this moment. We’ve still got cleaning up to do from earlier.” She made a side long glance at Bianca.
Zoey rushed up to Jake and held him back. “Don’t Jake,” she said. Chris looked at her. “Besides, we already know that was an empty threat seeing as you kicked his ass last time.” Chris glared at her.
“Alright enough,” Piper said holding her hands up. She sighed. “Anybody else need a drink? I know I do. Just wish I could have alcohol.” With that she walked off with her two sisters following her.
Jason gave Zoey a big hug. “Hey kido, I would ask how you’re doing but…” Zoey laughed and he followed after Phoebe. Bianca glared at Jason as he left.
“You know, all that mugging is starting to give you wrinkles,” Zoey said with a smile and with that led Jake out of the room. Bianca started after her but Chris held her back.
“Don’t,” Chris said.
*****
Jake over at his best friend; his dark green eyes held her in his gaze for a moment. “Are you sure you’re ok?” he asked softly.
Zoey smiled. “I should’ve been expecting this,” she replied looking down at her hands. “I mean, I always have bad luck in this department.”
Jake smiled sympathetically at her. “That’s true.”
Zoey looked at him. “You’re not supposed to agree; you’re supposed to comfort.”
“Maybe you should join a convent,” he suggested with a sly smile.
Zoey smacked Jake in the arm. “Shut up!”
Jake laughed. “Well you do look good in black sister Aguilar.”
Zoey grabbed her pillow and hit him with it. “You’re mean!”
Jake grinned and took the pillow away from her. “Sister Aguilar, this is not appropriate behavior.” Zoey pushed him away from her. “Zoey,” Jake said laughing.
“I’m not talking to you,” she said rolling over on her bed so that her back was facing him.
“ZoZo,” he said he said lying down on the bed beside her and put his hand on her shoulder.
She rolled onto her back and looked up at him. “You’re such a jerk.”
“But I’m a cute jerk,” he replied with a goofy smile. Zoey raised an eye brow at him. “You know I’m irresistible,” he said jokingly and began tickling her stomach.
Zoey tried to hold back her laughter but just couldn’t. She burst into a fit of giggles and tried to fend off Jake. He laughed and continued to tickle her then he stopped and smiled warmly down at her. “No, seriously though, how are you holding up?” he asked as he stroked her hair. “I only ask because we haven’t been able to talk for the past two weeks due to mid-terms. We haven’t really talked about what happened to you in Arteias.”
Zoey’s smile faded. “I really don’t know,” she said quietly. “I miss James, he was a good guy, and I feel responsible for everything that’s happened.”
“You didn’t know it would end up that way,” Jake said softly. “It’s not your fault Zoey.”
Tears began to form in her eyes. “Isn’t it? Jake, every guy that I’ve dated the past tow years has either died or just hurt me.”
“That’s not true,” he said. “Not every guy. We dated a little in November and I’m still here.”
Zoey smiled up at him and stroked his cheek. “You’re the one thing in my whacky screwed up world that seems to make sense,” she said after a while. “I mean, nothing seems to make sense anymore, I don’t even know who I am besides a witch.”
“You’re still the same Zoey Marie Aguilar who ate glue in kindergarten; the same Zoey whom I gave you your first kiss; plus you’re the same Zoey who I’ve grown up with. My soul mate.” Zoey smiled up at him and he kissed her hand then her lips.
Zoey snuggled up to him. “You’re the greatest you know that?”
Jake smiled as he held her hand. “Well I don’t like to brag.” He chuckled. “As for the future, well, we’ve got that 30 year old plan.”
“Oh yeah,” Zoey said. “If we’re 30 and still single we get married. I almost forgot about that.”
“Right; my Grandma Lara would be so proud. I can here her now.” He adjusted his voice so that he spoke with a thick Irish accent. “I knew it would happen. Zoey Marie Aguilar fallen for my Jacob. Not like I’m going to treat you any different now that you two are married. Nope; if ya wanted that you might as well be living in an alternate universe.” Zoey burst out laughing.

Paige finished pouring the blue potion into the viles and distributed them out to everybody. “Let’s get this going,” Piper said as she took the vile from her sister.
She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. “Hope it works this time.”
Bianca turned to Chris and smiled up at him faintly. “Ready to go home?” she said taking hold of his hand.
Chris nodded then turned to Piper. “Hey Piper, did you see that thing I left in the kitchen?”
Piper looked at him curiously. “What thing?”
Chris gave her a look. “You know that thing in the kitchen?”
Piper’s eyebrows went up. “Oh you mean that thing.”
She followed the young white lighter out of the attic and down the hall. “What’s going on?” she asked. Chris sighed. “Does Zoey know that I’m leaving?” he asked curiously.
“Yes, but she and Jake fell asleep downstairs,” Piper replied. “Besides, her exact words when I told her were so what.”
Chris nodded then looked at her. “Do you think you can wake her up or something? I need to talk to her.”
“No Chris, I’m not going to wake her up just so you can come up with some lame apology. She’s been through enough to last a lifetime from you don’t you think?”
Chris sighed. “Piper, I never meant to hurt her like that.”
“Well maybe you should have thought about that before hand. Plus, it’s not the first time you’ve hurt her Chris. If you care about her at all then you’ll just leave without making things worse, alright?”
Chris nodded and walked back into the attic where the others were waiting patiently. He smiled faintly at Bianca who was giving him a curious look.
“Ready now?” Paige asked as Piper followed in shortly after.
“Yeah,” Chris replied quietly and walked over to Bianca who took his hand in hers and gave it a gentle squeeze.
“What’s wrong?” she asked looking up at him.
“Nothing,” Chris replied and kissed her hand.
“Well, have a safe trip,” Leo said then after a moments pause he added,” Both of you.”
Chris nodded and picked up the bag of emergency potions and once more Phoebe handed out a potion vile to everybody. Jason stepped back towards the door and watched in silent wonderment.
“Hear these words, hear the rhyme….”
“We call upon the ancient powers to heed us in this hour,” Phoebe added.
“Through the sands of both space and time, we ask that you heed this rhyme.”
“Open the door to the place in time in which they wish to find,” Paige concluded and threw her potion vile at the wall. The others followed suit and once more the chalk triquetra erupted into bright orange flames and in the center a small stream of blue began to grow larger and larger until only the three end points of the triquetra were visible.
Chris gave the sisters one last side long glance then walked straight through the blue light. The portal closed abruptly.
The sisters stood in silence for a moment, staring blankly at the wall. “Well, I guess that’s that then,” Paige said finally.
Phoebe sighed and Jason walked up to her and put an arm around her. Phoebe smiled faintly and held onto his arm. “I guess so. I mean, he’s really gone this time.”
Piper nodded slightly. “Well, we’ve got work to do after diner. I mean, just because Chris went back to the future doesn’t mean that my son is no longer evil, right?”
Leo frowned slightly and followed his wife out of the attic.
Paige turned to the others. “We should figure out what exactly turns him,” she suggested.
“Well that’s what we’ve been trying to do,” Phoebe pointed out.
“Yeah well, maybe there’s something that we’ve over looked or something.”
Jason nodded. “Paige is right. I mean, we should go over everything that’s happened in the past year and a half.”
“Exactly,” Paige agreed. “Make a list of the demons that we’ve vanquished and just find out everything on why demons would want Wyatt.”
Phoebe nodded. “Alright; after diner we’ll start on it. Piper could use the rest.”
Chris and Bianca stepped out of the portal and into the large stone hall where the candle light flickered and cast an eerie glow on everything in the room. Demons stood as guards at the two exits-- located directly in front of them and to the right of them-- and watched them carefully as they made their way out of the hall and into another corridor. Chris glanced around at the walls which were decorated in various paintings of old and weaponry from just about every time period. He gave Bianca’s hand a gentle squeeze and she cast him a short glance.
The two soon entered into what appeared to be a large library. The old wooden shelves lined the wall from floor to ceiling like gigantic trees in a forest. Their shelves filled tightly with books and some filled with pictures or maps and various artifacts. The high dome shaped ceiling was created out of a painting of a star filled night with both the moon and the sun present. The only source of light that was in the library came from the pale flicker of the candelabras that were placed here and there.
“Welcome back Chris,” Wyatt said from behind a large oak desk. He was seated in a large leather chair, his hands clasped together. He smiled slightly, his blue eyes burning with intensity.
“Wyatt,” Chris said coldly not taking his eyes off of him. Wyatt laughed. “What’s wrong? Didn’t like your trip to the past?” he stood up and walked over to the couple. He glanced at Bianca and smiled. “You’ll be paid your share, but for now we’re done here.”
“I don’t want your money,” Bianca said icily.
Wyatt smiled. “Fine. Now leave.” Bianca didn’t budge. Wyatt sighed. “I really don’t have the patience for your petty stubbornness. This time I will kill you.”
“Go!” Chris said firmly. Bianca gave Wyatt one last hard stare before shimmering out, leaving them alone.
“Now, is that anyway to talk to a lady?” Wyatt said.
“What would you know? If I recall, the last girl you dated killed herself to keep from being with you.”
Wyatt nodded his head. “What a pity too. She was pretty.” Wyatt shrugged. “There’s more fish in the sea, isn’t there Chris?”
“What do you want Wyatt?” Chris asked glaring at his ex best friend. It was unbelievable to think that once the two had been the best of friends. Chris had met Wyatt when he was around seven years old. The two had been in the same second grade class together at Piedmont elementary school. The two had grown even closer when they found out that the other was a witch just like them too. From Saturday classes at the Magic School, to little league baseball games, the two were inseparable. But now, here they were: Wyatt in complete control over both magic and non-magic worlds; and Chris, still fighting against Wyatt’s reign.
“Why so impatient Chris?” Wyatt asked as he sat on the edge of the large desk. Wyatt looked at Chris carefully. “There’s still time; join me.”
“I’d rather die,” Chris said through his teeth.
“That can be easily done,” Wyatt replied coolly. His bright blue eyes locking onto Chris’.
“If its so easy then why haven’t you killed me yet?” Chris taunted. Part of him was screaming at him not to mess around but the other part just didn’t give a d**n anymore.
Wyatt laughed. “Well if that’s what you want…” with a slight wave of his hand he sent Chris flying back across the library. Chris smacked hard into the wooden bookshelf and slid down to the floor. He glared up at Wyatt and with a wave of his hand he sent Wyatt straight into the statue of armor that came crashing down on him. Chris’ eyes widened slightly as he glanced down at his hand. It wasn’t telekinesis that he had used on Wyatt but bright blue streams of electricity. His finger tips sparked with bits of blue. He then glanced over at Wyatt who picked himself up slowly.
“Impressive,” Wyatt said with a laugh. “Looks like someone learned a thing or two in the past.” Wyatt smiled smugly as he wiped blood from the corner of his mouth. “We’re more alike than you think. Think about my offer. Sleep on it.” With a wave of his hand he orbed Chris out of the library.
****
Bianca got up from the couch as soon as Chris had begun to materialize. “Oh my goodness!” she exclaimed as she hugged him tightly. “I thought I wouldn’t see you again.”
Chris held onto her and kissed her hair. “I thought so too,” he said.
Bianca then smacked him in the arm. “Don’t you ever talk to me like that again!” she said.
Chris smiled faintly as he rubbed his right arm. “I’m sorry?”
Bianca sighed and ran her fingers through her hair. “I can’t believe I almost lost you. All I kept thinking about was that your last words to me were going to be go.”
Chris sighed and looked around the familiar apartment. It hadn’t changed much at all. The walls were still an off white color, the overstuffed red L-couch was still in the same spot as it was the last time he was hear nearly a year and a half ago. The walls still were plainly decorated in picture frames of friends and family- his family that was- and paintings. The only difference he could see was that Bianca had repainted the kitchen. No longer was it the same boring yellow that it had been when they had first moved in but now a soft maroon color.
“So?” Bianca said after a while. “What happened?”
Chris turned to her and shrugged. “I’m not sure; we fought and he let me live; oh and I have a new power.”
“A new power?”
“Electrokinesis,” he replied simply.
“Oh…well that’s good right? I mean, it kept you alive.”
Chris nodded and scratched the back of his head. “I’m going to take a shower. It’s been a long day.”
Bianca nodded and watched as he walked off and disappeared around the corner of the hall. A woman with dirty blonde hair and green eyes materialized in behind Bianca. “Have you told him yet?” she asked.
“No, not yet,” Bianca replied with her back to the woman.
“We don’t have much time left,” the woman reminded impatiently.
Bianca turned to her. “You think I don’t know that Tina?” she demanded. “I’ll tell him soon.”
Tina placed her hands on her hips. “Soon isn’t good enough. Look, if we’re to kill her we’ll need everything to fall in place the right way. There’s no telling what this pact with Wyatt can do to us- to the world for that matter.”
Bianca’s jaw tightened. “Believe me, I want to kill her more than you can imagine.”
Tina smiled. “This wouldn’t have to do with what happened in the past now would it?”
Bianca gave her a curious look.
Tina laughed. “Time travel…I remember it. So does she.” Tina smiled. “You’ll have your chance to get even. This time the stakes are on your side.”
“So you say,” Bianca replied coldly crossing her arms across her chest. “How do I even know you have the potion?”
Tina smiled mischievously. “You don’t. You’re just going to have to trust me on this. Remember, she’s the reason why the resistance fell and why Piper’s younger son is in hiding.”
“Save the summaries for someone else,” Bianca said a little bit impatiently. “Just make sure that everything is ready. The hallow is being prepared as we speak.”
To be continued

Zoey sighed as she descended the stairs of P3. Loud rock music came from the band that was rehearsing onstage. Zoey merely glanced at them and continued over to the bar where Piper was busy wiping down the counter. “Can’t you give yourself maternity leave or something?” she said taking a seat on one of the black bar stools.
Piper smiled. “I need to keep myself busy,” she replied. “If I don’t, I’ll go crazy locked up in that house.”
“Yeah but at least you can scare the children down that street and earn the name of Crazy Ms. Halliwell. Just think, they’ll taunt you and taunt you and make up horror stories that you keep odd monsters or bake children alive and keep dragons or something like that.”
“Have you been reading that fairy tale book to Wyatt again?” she asked looking at her curiously.
Zoey smiled guiltily. “Yes,” she confessed. “I can’t say no to him. He’s so cute when he tries to read me Hansel and Gretel.”
Piper laughed and put a hand to her stomach. “Ah! This kid might end up being a future soccer player, I swear.”
Zoey smiled. “Really though Piper; you should be relaxing. The last few months before the birth can be very crucial to the overall health of the baby. I mean, when the mother lacks rest, the baby suffers from it too.”
Piper gave Zoey a look. “Did Leo put you up to this? I swear that man has the nerve to…”
“Actually I read it in that 1001 Pregnancy Tips book that I found in the wash room.”
Jake came up behind Zoey and covered her eyes. “Guess who?”
“Jake?” Zoey said.
“No…guess again.”
“Oh! I know! Jake!”
Jake squeezed her waist and Zoey giggled. “You’re no fun.”
“Of course I’m fun. You just need to learn not to do that especially if I know that I’m in the same place you’re in.”
“So that’s how it works,” he said with a smile. “Anyways, Piper, thanks for letting us rehearse in your club here.”
“No problem,” Piper said with a warm smile. “I’m just thankful I found a band for this Thursday.”
Zoey turned to Jake with a bright smile. “Oh my goodness! That’s stellar Jake!” she said giving him a big hug.
“Yeah it is,” a young man said from behind her. She turned and nearly gasped when she saw the young man. He looked exactly like Dean from when she was reliving a past life. He was the same height, around six feet, had the same dark brown hair and deep blue eyes.
Jake smiled. “Keith I’d like you to meet my best friend Zoey Aguilar. Zoey, this is Keith Moretti. He’s the lead guitarist and vocals for our band.”
Keith shook Zoey’s hand. “So this is Zoey,” he said. Zoey gave him a curious look.
“Jake talks about you a lot,” he explained quickly.
Zoey blushed a bit. Her heart was racing. “I’m going to go check up with the rest of the band,” Jake said with a sly smile and left the two alone.
Zoey turned back to Keith. “I need my hand back,” she said smiling nervously.
Keith laughed nervously. “Sorry,” he said letting go of her hand. He rubbed the back of his head. “Have we met before? I feel like I know you from somewhere.”
Zoey smiled, trying to keep from saying anything unusual. “I don’t think we have.”
Keith smiled. “Maybe from a past life or dream.” He laughed and glanced around. “How weird was that just now?”
Zoey smiled. “Not weird at all,” she assured. Believe me, I know weird, she thought to herself.
Keith nodded. “Well, I should get back to the band. It was nice meeting you Zoey Aguilar.”
“Same with you Keith Moretti.” She turned and began walking over to Piper when he called out to her.
“Hey; you should come Thursday,” he said walking up to her. “I mean, to support your friend of course.”
Zoey smiled faintly and nodded. “I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
Keith nodded and turned to walk away but then turned around again. “Maybe, we can grab something to drink afterwards?”
Zoey smiled awkwardly. She was in no hurry to start another relationship. “Maybe. See you Thursday.”
Chris wiped away the steam from the fogged up mirror and stared at his blurred and distorted reflection. His hot shower wasn’t like the other ones he had had before. This one didn’t relieve the stress nor did it calm his nerves down. Instead, in the quiet solitude of the shower, his nerves only were made worse. Why hadn’t Wyatt killed him? What exactly was he up to when he was speaking to him cryptically? It wasn’t like Wyatt to be that patient and speak in riddles. Chris sighed and glanced in the mirror. He didn’t expect to change- at least not physically. There were his two greenish blue eyes staring back at him through foggy vision; his strong jaw line and the same nose; the same rich brown hair and hell, the same haircut that he had when he left from the future to the past.
He contemplated what he thought would change: the world, his life as he knew it…but no, he still had the same memories stored in his mind. From the first time he found out he was a witch and part white lighter, his foster parents, to the first time he met Wyatt Matthew Halliwell in the second grade; the first time he had met Bianca, their first kiss, their first night of intimacy together, and his life of fighting off Wyatt’s reign.
When Chris went back to the past, he expected to make a change. According to Bianca, he did; only, it wasn’t the change he had intended to make. He sighed. He couldn’t help it. He had fought the feeling back as long as he could. He really did. Of course he knew that the timeline would have changed, he knew that he would be able to go back to the future, to his own time, and spend the rest of his life with Bianca as was meant to be. But still, despite his efforts, he fell for her. Zoey Marie Aguilar. With Bianca it was different. She was a hired assassin working for Wyatt. But they had fallen in love anyways and had transcended the barriers that stood between them: good and evil couldn’t keep their love from dying. It didn’t matter that the consequences would be their death. They knew it and they accepted it.
With Zoey it was different. Chris didn’t fall in love with her at the time of an undeclared war. He didn’t fall in love with Zoey and have to fear for his and her life. In fact, he tried hard not to fall in love with her. She was only 18 and he just 22….years into the future that was. The past wasn’t his home; it wasn’t his place in time.
There would be nothing that he could offer her. They were too different. She was young and naïve and completely the opposite of him. He was older, experienced and not like her at all. They weren’t compatible. In fact, he hated her when he saw her. He hated her for her beauty and the youth that she displayed. He hated her youth because he had never experienced life as she had. His teenage life was filled with hard work to stay alive and filled with the fact that his now ex-best friend had chosen to kill innocents and had chosen power instead of the morally good versus evil fight. The good fight didn’t exist in his time. It did in hers though but she never grasped the idea of what it was like to have to fight to live. Life was given to her for free. She took from it as she pleased, dressed, walked, and talked as she pleased.
But slowly she grew on him. Her free spirit, love of music, ice cream, the arts, her ability to put him in his place and to tolerate his stubbornness. She shared her life with his, allowing him to experience the life he never knew as a teenager. The friends, the parties, the love of everything; the lifestyle was care free and fun. How could he possibly keep from loving her? The way she took comfort in him and trusted in him to tell of her secret desires and her past. Chris wanted someone to stand by his side when he accomplished the goal he came there for. She stood by him, believed in him…but he mistreated her in the ways he never thought he would ever do to anyone. He hurt her badly, he knew it too. The way she looked at him with those cold harsh eyes that were once filled with love towards him. The way she acted around him as if….
“Chris?” Bianca’s voice broke through, muffled from the door.
Chris snapped out of his trance and opened the door and peered down at his fiancé who was looking up at him curiously.
“Are you alright?” she asked. “I knocked on the door but you didn’t answer.”
Chris nodded. “Yeah, I’m fine,” he said and walked down the hall to their old bedroom. Everything was the same only the bed covers were new and the paint was a different shade of green. Chris put on his shirt over the white wife beater that he was wearing and buttoned it up leaving the last two buttons unbuttoned. He then sat down on the bed and began putting on the pair of Converse sneakers that Zoey had bought for him a while back.
“Where are you going?” Bianca asked curiously as she watched her fiancé tie up the dirty white laces of his sneakers.
“I just need some fresh air,” he replied quietly.
“Are you thinking about her?”
“No.”
Silence.
“I know its going to take you some getting used to being back Christopher, just don’t shut me out ok?”
Chris turned to her and kissed her lips once sweetly. “I’ll never shut you out Bianca, you know that.”
Bianca smiled faintly and nodded, holding onto his sleeve until he pulled away as he walked toward the door.
The weather was lousy to say the least in San Francisco that day. According to the newspaper, there was going to be nothing but an overcast sky that would threaten rain, as has it been for the past week according to what Chris read. He walked down the busy streets of downtown San Francisco, passing by shop after shop. Holograms popped up advertising the latest sales. But a new kind of hologram had been invented since he had been gone. This kind was a 3-D hologram of a sales person set outside each shop and fully equipped with the highest state of the art technology.
It had a DNA scanner that identified each person as they passed by, making the advertising more formal. “Chris Perry,” a computer generated hologram of a sales person greeted with the mock firmness yet cheerful voice of that of any actual human. “Could I interest you in a subscription to the Bay View Mirror? Our newspaper reaches over twenty thousand people in the city of San Francisco alone and millions in the Bay Area ranging from San Jose to Vallejo, to Berkley and Mountain View.”
“No thanks,” Chris said as he continued on his way down the street. Memories of visiting Phoebe in her office at the paper raced through his mind. In this time, Phoebe and Jason Dean were dead. The Bay View Mirror belonged to Audrey- Jason’s cousin. Chris thought about stopping by and seeing how she was doing and what she looked like but decided against it. While dating Audrey, he never mentioned that he was from the future. Not many people in the family knew about that. Some knew about them being witches but that’s because Phoebe had told most of the guests before the wedding. But his actual identity was skewed so as to not make people more uncomfortable with the idea of time traveling. Being a witch would be enough to freak them out. But still….Chris stopped in his tracks as he heard a name he thought he’d never hear again.
“Ms. Aguilar!” a man’s voice came from behind him. Chris turned around and peered through the crowd. He spotted a man in a blue tailored suit rushing up to the person he had called out to. The person had their black hood from their jacket on over their head and blocked the view from their face. The man handed the hooded person a blue shopping bag. When the person turned they crossed the street and headed away from where Chris was going. “Zoey Aguilar,” an automated hologram addressed. “May I interest you in…?”
Chris quickly crossed the street and in doing so almost run over by the hover boards that created traffic on the streets. He followed as quickly as he could and watched her every move. He needed to see her. He had to see what she looked like; he had to talk to her. She turned the corner and he followed after finding himself in the back of a warehouse. He was in a deserted alley and she was gone. He glanced around and saw that she was nowhere to be seen. He sighed and turned to leave when he felt a hand grab his shoulder. Upon reflex Chris grabbed hold of the arm and flung the person up over his back but before they hit the ground they shimmered.

Chris turned at the sound of laughter and saw her. Her hood was off now and she was adjusting the long locks of wavy warm brown hair that fell past her shoulders.
She looked up at him with her big dark sunglasses and a grin spread across her face. “My, my, so the rumors are true,” she said walking up to him. “Chris Perry is back.” She took off her sunglasses, her big brown eyes looking him up and down. She smiled. “I have to say, you’re stronger than I last remember you to be; that’s a good thing.”
Chris’ body eased up at the sight of her. “Zoey?”
“No, the boogey man,” she said with a tone of sarcasm.
Chris smiled at her. “Wow, you haven’t aged a bit,” he said looking her up and down. Her skin was still young and glowed healthily, her hair was longer, and her figure was the same as before: slender yet curved.
Zoey smiled. “Well, that’s a perk to being an Amazon I guess. So Wyatt finally got her to go after you,” she said with a curious smile.
“Bianca?” Chris said confused as to why she said it like that.
“Yes, the one I beat to a pulp,” she laughed. “Time travel is odd isn’t it?”
Chris nodded slightly giving her a cautious look. “Yeah, it is. How did you know he sent her for me?”
Zoey smiled and walked around him. “Because I just do.”
“How though? Did he tell you or something? The last time I checked, Wyatt wasn’t much for letting people know his business.”
Zoey kept the mysterious grin on her face. “He tells me though. I’m his confidant in a way.”
Chris gave her a look. “You work for him?”
“Correction, he works for me too,” she said slyly. “Oh don’t be so surprised Christopher,” she said fixing his collard shirt. “It’s not like its bad.”
“But it is bad,” Chris stated pulling her hands off of him. “You chose the wrong side to play on.”
“No, maybe you chose the wrong side Chris,” she said. “Ever think of that? Ever think that perhaps, this is the side if there are any sides anyways? I mean, I have freedom; I don’t have to hide in the dark like you and your little Phoenix do, afraid that one day I’ll die. I get to live my life the way I want it, no matter what. Working for Wyatt is just extra cash in my pocket.”
“It’s dirty money then,” he said growing angry with her. “Out of all people, I can’t believe that you would do this!”
Zoey smiled up at him. “Then I guess you didn’t know how naïve you actually were.”
Chris backed away from her. “Why?”
“I just told you why Chris. I didn’t stutter,” Zoey said. “Besides, why not take advantage of this time? It’s a world of survival of the fittest. Right now I’m at the top of my game.”
Chris shook his head at her. “And what about the stone?”
“What stone?”
“The stone of Hamza?”
Zoey smiled. “Like I’d let anyone get their hands on the one thing that can grant any wish. I’m not stupid.”
“You sure fooled me just now,” Chris said icily.
Zoey glared at him with violet eyes. “I fell in love with you didn’t I?” she countered. A vicious grin spread across her face. “Tell Bianca I say hello. I expect I’ll be seeing her soon.” She shimmered out.

hey thanks for all the lovely comments. sorry that the updates have been slow but i'm been piled up with homework. i'll try to update at least once a week or more. ****
Paige walked down the stairs and into P3 with Glenn holding her hand. She smiled at him and he gave her a warm smile back. “What?” Paige asked curiously at the way he looked at her.
“I can’t look at you?” he teased.
“Not without paying,” she joked.
“I thought that was only for touching.”
Paige hit him playfully in the arm. “Hey.”
Glenn laughed and the two continued their way towards the bar, making their way past the sea of people that had come out to see the new band. It was more crowded than ever before. P3 hadn’t been this crowded in a long time. In fact, Piper was getting nervous about how attendance had dropped since September and now. But she smiled as she served another customer their drink. The band was bringing people who brought money which she needed.
“Wow, this place is packed!” Paige exclaimed as she and Glenn sat down at the bar.
“The bands pretty cool too,” Glenn said glancing at the band who was in the middle of one of their original rock songs. “What’s their name?”
Piper smiled and handed him a beer. “The Silence.”
Glenn nodded and took a sip of his beer then smiled at Piper as he reached over to rub her pregnant stomach. Piper smacked his hand away. Glenn’s jaw dropped as he rubbed his hand. “That hurt!”
Paige gave him a guilty smile. “I forgot to remind you that she gets pissed when people try to rub her stomach.”
“She’s pregnant; it's what people do,” Glenn protested. Piper gave him a look. “That’s right, I’m pregnant; not Buddha so don’t touch my stomach.”
Glenn smiled nervously and nodded.
“Hey people!” Zoey greeted as she walked up to them. “Did you know about the hands off the pregnant lady thing?” Glenn asked out of curiosity.
Zoey nodded. “Yeah, didn’t you get the memo? She’s not Buddha.”
Glenn rolled his eyes. “So I’m told.”
Piper smirked then looked at Zoey. “Wow, you’re dressed to impress,” she commented on the sheer pink tank top that fell in tiers down to her thighs and her dark black jeans with matching black heels, and her chandelier ear rings.
“What are you talking about? It’s a big night for Jake and we’re going out to celebrate later,” Zoey explained. Paige raised an eyebrow at her. “So this wouldn’t have anything to do with Keith being the spitting image of Dean would it?”
Zoey smiled, “No. You know I’m not in a rush to start another relationship. I’m enjoying my freedom.”
The music died down and the band announced that they were going on break. The music from the dj began again. Piper gave Zoey a look. “Oh really? Is that why you were flirting with him the other day?”
“I was so not flirting with him!” Zoey said in defense.
“Who was ZoZo flirting with?” Jake asked as he gave her sides a gentle squeeze.
Zoey smiled and gave him a hug. “Hey, you were stellar.”
“Naturally,” Jake replied with a smirk.
Zoey rolled her eyes. “Conceited much?”
“Well I only learn from the best,” Jake replied and kissed her cheek. Keith walked up to them just then. “ZoZo you remember Keith right?”
Zoey smiled. “How are you?”
Keith flashed a handsome grin. “Not bad.” There was an awkward pause. Paige gave Piper a look.
“Come on Glenn, its time to shake what your mama gave you,” she teased dragging him over to the dance floor. Piper too walked away down to the other side of the bar.
“I think I’m going to check out that thing,” Jake said. “What thing?” Keith asked.
“There is no thing, Jacob’s lying,” Zoey said eyeing Jake curiously. Jake gave her a smirk then left the two alone. Zoey sighed and smiled awkwardly at Keith.
Keith rubbed the back of his head and for a long time the two didn’t say a word. Only the awkward silence spoke for them. “So…how are you?”
“Fine; I’m fine thanks and you?”
Keith smiled. “Truthfully, I’ve never felt better in my life.” Zoey gave him a quizzical look. “The band…it went well.”
Zoey nodded. “Yeah, well, you guys rocked.” She gave herself a mental slap. You guys rocked? She bit her lip out of nervous habit and glanced around the club. Silence.
“So, I’m glad you came,” Keith said giving her a shy smile. “I mean, I bet Jake’s really happy to see you. Who wouldn’t be?”
Zoey gave him a faint smile and blushed a bit. Keith laughed nervously. “I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable.”
She shook her head, grinning. “No, you didn’t make me uncomfortable. That was sweet. Thanks.”
Keith flashed a charming grin and Zoey smiled back at him. He was very attractive. Like an Emo Rocker. Not to mention that he seemed like a sweet guy. But her mind was set: she wasn’t ready for a relationship. She tucked a strand of brown curly hair behind her ear.
“You look great,” Keith said after a moment’s pause. Zoey glanced down at her attire and smiled faintly at him. “Thanks.”
Keith smiled nervously and rubbed the back of his head. “So…are you going to the after party thing that we’re going to have?”
Zoey nodded and shifted her purse from one arm to another. “Yeah, Jake invited me so yeah.”
Keith nodded. “Are you and Jake an item?” he asked curiously.
Zoey shook her head. “No, we’re just friends. We used to be but…” her voice trailed off and she laughed nervously. “Wow, I’m just going to stop talking now.”
Keith laughed and shook his head. “No, don’t. I know this is awkward.”
Zoey smiled and nodded. “It is awkward. I-I don’t know why though. I mean, you seem like a nice guy.”
Keith smiled faintly. “You don’t seem so bad yourself.” He glanced around then back at her. “So, maybe we should get to know each other better?”
Zoey thought for a moment then nodded and smiled. “Yeah, I’d like that.”
Keith nodded. “Alright, then lets start out fresh.” He extended his hand to her. “I’m Keith Moretti.”
Zoey smiled and shook his hand. “Pleased to meet you Keith. I’m Zoey Aguilar.”
Keith smiled and gave her a curious look. “Hey, aren’t you friends with Jake McKenzie?”
Zoey laughed. **** Chris walked into his apartment and sighed as he closed the door. Things were more messed up than when he had left in the beginning. The one girl who he never thought would go awry was now working with the most powerful witch in the world. Zoey was evil. Bianca was right. He should’ve listened to her and not protested the fact. But how? Zoey didn’t have a mean bone in her body. Well, yeah, she liked to torture demons during vanquishes. She could be a little impatient with plans on the hunt. She liked to make potions that were utterly painful. She was working for Cole….that’s it! He’s the one who did this to her.
“Chris?” Bianca asked as she walked into the living room carrying with her some kitchen towels. “Hey, what’s wrong?”
Chris looked at her. “I ran into Zoey,” he said taking off his jacket and hanging it on the coat rack.
Bianca watched him carefully. “Oh? Are you alright?”
Chris laughed. “She believes she’s chosen the right side to be on. She talks about her newfound work ethic as if it’s worthy of a f**k**g Nobel Prize.”
“Well what can you expect from a psycho b!tch?” Bianca said coolly as she flipped the pages of the fashion magazine that she was reading on the couch.
Chris shook his head. “This isn’t her. I know it.”
“Why? Just because you slept with her doesn’t mean you know her. People change.”
“Not like this though,” Chris said as he sat down across from her. He leaned back against the overstuffed sofa chair. He sighed. “I don’t understand. I mean, she knows what evil can do. She was involved with a demon that killed her foster parents; she was Queen of the Underworld…”
“Well it seems like she misses her throne,” Bianca said icily shutting the magazine. “You need to understand that she’s not the bimbo you left in the past Chris. It’s a different time. One in which she’s evil: she’s killed innocents and to top it off she like Wyatt right hand man. We need to stop her.”
“Are you suggesting that I vanquish her?” Chris asked unbelievably.
“If you won’t I will.”
Chris shook his head. “No. I’m not going to do it.”
“Well you have no choice in this Chris,” Bianca stated standing up and putting her hands on her hips. “She’s as demon like as they get. With her being an Amazon, her powers are only greater. If we don’t stop her then she’ll keep killing more.”
Chris sighed. “I can’t,” he said.
Bianca glared at him. “Get over whatever feelings you have for her Chris. We’re in the middle of war here. We can’t put things off. That could mean the end of both our lives.” With that she shimmered out.

The musty scent of furniture filled Bianca’s nostrils as she appeared in the large warehouse. She glanced around the place, watching the various witches busy at training for combat. Partners spared, physically and magically. Yells and screams filled the room and echoed off the walls and ceilings. This was the place she never thought she would be caught in again. Especially after what she did. How was she to know the consequences of her actions? The offer Wyatt proposed to her at the time seemed to be the greatest of offers she had come by since her mother’s death.
“Welcome home,” Tina said with a grin as she walked up to Bianca. She smiled and glanced at Bianca curiously then around the warehouse. “Its different now isn’t it?”
Bianca nodded. “Seems smaller; still hectic.” She looked at Tina. “Is it still protected?”
“By the very same ancient charm that has yet to be broken.” Tina smiled at her. “Happy to be back?”
“Hardly,” Bianca said glancing around at the other Phoenixes who were now aware of her presence. “I suppose I’m still alienated?”
Tina shrugged. “You did side with a power that tried and succeeded in killing us several times,” she reminded crisply. “The Resistance? Does that ring a bell?”
Bianca narrowed her eyes at her. “Just because I’m helping you out with this doesn’t mean I’m siding against the resistance.”
Tina laughed. “Actually, you are; in case you’ve forgotten, the Resistance is keen on Amazons. They believe they’ll help them, have the power to help them.”
“Yeah, well, we all know that’s a bunch of bull sh!t,” Bianca said icily. “How can those creatures be any help when they only have their own interests in mind?”
Tina smiled. “Exactly; why do you think we’re still at war with them? Have you forgotten your teachings?”
Bianca sighed. “No I haven’t. You taught me remember…cousin?”
“Good. We’ve got work to do.”
***** “Glenn,” Paige said in between kisses as he leaned her back against the counter. “Somebody might walk in.”
“Then they’ll have themselves a free show,” he said with a smile and kissed her lips sweetly. Paige grinned and wrapped her arms around his neck and continued to kiss him passionately.
The basement door opened and Zoey walked in. “Oh yuck! This is where people eat for crying out loud!” she teased as she made her way to the refrigerator.
Paige turned to Zoey and gave her a look. “She’s just jealous,” Glenn teased with a playful grin as he wrapped his arms around his girlfriend and kissed her neck.
“I don’t know why should would be, she didn’t come home until early morning anyways; she was too busy hitting it off with Keith.”
In a rushing swirl of blue and white orbs Leo appeared in the kitchen and looked around. “Morning,” he said and walked over to the counter and poured himself some coffee.
“Oh, Keith….” Glenn teased. “Going for the rockers huh?”
“Who’s Keith?” Leo asked curiously looking at Zoey.
“Keith would be the guy who Zoey was flirting with all night last night,” Paige filled in.
“Oh? I think I need to meet this Keith guy, you know, do background checks, simple stuff like that,” Leo teased.
Zoey rolled her eyes. “He’s not my boyfriend nor do I think of him on that level and even want to think about another relationship.”
Paige nodded impatiently. “Are you going to get to the good stuff or not?”
Zoey sighed. “He just turned 20; a freshman at the University of San Francisco; major: forensic science.”
“Wow, forensics?” Leo said. He smiled brightly. “He’s a definite keeper I think.”
Zoey shook her head at him and smiled. “It’s not like that Leo.”
Paige gave Zoey a look. “Don’t you think you should try to get over Chris? I mean, he’s not coming back.”
“Paige,” Glenn began.
“Look, I don’t mean to be mean but it’s the truth,” Paige explained.
Zoey nodded. “Yeah, I know that,” she said through her teeth. “It’s just that…I’m not ready for another relationship,” she put her glass in the sink and left the kitchen.
Leo glanced over at Paige. “Did you have to bring that up?” he said as he took a bite out of one of the blue berry muffins from the basket on the table.
Paige sighed. “It wasn’t intentional but you know what? She needs to move on. She deserves to find someone great, someone who won’t treat her like crap, like Chris did.” She glanced at her watch. “We’re going to be late for our movie,” Paige said. Glenn nodded and they walked out of the kitchen.
Piper entered the kitchen still in her blue pajamas and pale pink bath robe. “Hey what was all that about?” she asked as she grabbed the blue berry muffin out of her husband’s hand and took a bite.
“Nothing. Do you know anything about some guy name Keith?” he asked curiously.
Piper nodded still chewing on the muffin. “Yeah, he was in the band that played at the club last night.”
Leo sighed. “You were at the club again?” he said. “Piper, you heard what the doctor said; you need to relax. All the stress isn’t good for the baby.”
“I do relax,” Piper said defensively. “It’s called going to sleep. I do it every night.”
Leo sighed. “Piper…you need to relax. For your health and our child’s alright? So find someone to cover for you at the club just until you’re ready to go back to work. Take maternity leave. That’s what it’s for.”
Piper sighed and folded her arms across her chest. “Fine; so when did you get back?”
Leo sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. “I’m not here to stay,” he said. Piper rolled her eyes and glared at him. “The elders want me to help them out to make sure that no one or anything else passed through the portal when it was open. They heard about Bianca’s surprise visit. They saw.”
“Must have been a pretty damn good show then, seeing as our surrogate daughter kicked her as$.”
Leo smiled and wrapped his arms around his wife. “That was something wasn’t it?” he said amused. “Well, it is training just in case if we have a daughter, she’s the same way.”
Piper smiled up at her husband warmly and kissed his lips

Bianca shimmered into the apartment and took off her jacket, tossing it onto the sofa and plopping down beside it. She sighed and stretched her arms above her head and let out a small yawn. The door opened and Chris entered the apartment carrying two brown paper bags full of groceries. He glanced at Bianca but said nothing. Instead he walked into the kitchen and placed the groceries onto the counter and began to take the items out. “Where were you?” he asked curiously.
“Out,” Bianca replied tiredly as she closed her eyes and lay down on the couch.
“For two days…care to be more specific?” Chris asked as he placed a new roll of paper towels on the dispenser.
Bianca sighed. “I was busy. I had things to do.”
“With the resistance?”
“In a way,” she replied simply.
Chris looked at her coldly. “You were planning how to kill Zoey weren’t you?” he demanded.
Bianca sat up and glared at him. “Why do you care?” she exclaimed. “She’s evil; in case you have forgotten, we vanquish evil remember?”
Chris shook his head. “I told you, we’re not vanquishing Zoey.”
“Correction, you said you weren’t vanquishing Zoey. I didn’t.”
Chris walked out of the kitchen and up to her. “Bianca, why are you doing this? Why are you making this into something bigger than it is?”
Bianca stood up on the couch, the only way she could gain height on him. “Why are you protecting her?!” she demanded. “That’s all you’ve been doing since you came back. Zoey this and Zoey that! What are you still in love with her?!” Chris just glared at her icily but said nothing. “Answer the question Chris!” she yelled, hot tears trickling down her cheeks. He just shook his head at her and left the apartment, slamming the door behind him.

Glenn smiled as he put his arm around Paige and the two continued walking down the boardwalk at the beach. The weather was typical Frisco weather in the late afternoon: the breeze came in cold from the ocean and the sun was almost a blinding ray of light as it kissed the sky in purple and pink. In fact, the sun had already begun to set and cast an orange glow about everything it touched. Couples held hands and made out on the sands of the beach and on the stone wall that ran along the boardwalk. Glenn and Paige stopped and stared out at the sunset. Paige smiled up at him. “It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” she said and leaned her head against his shoulder.
Glenn smiled down at her and nodded. He glanced around nervously. He knelt down.
“What are you doing?” Paige asked looking at him oddly.
“Can’t a guy tie his shoe?” Glenn answered as he tied the laces of his black shoes. Paige smiled and glanced out across the ocean. “Paige?” Glenn said.
Paige looked down at him and gasped. Glenn was now on one knee and held up a small diamond ring. “Oh my goodness!” she said still in total shock. She wasn’t used to surprises, at least the kind that didn’t involve magic. She had forgotten how to keep calm under these kinds of circumstances. “Is that what I think that is?”
Glenn grinned. “Wow this isn’t how I planned it but yeah it is.” He grabbed hold of her left hand and looked up at her. Passerby turned and smiled at the two. “Paige Matthews, I’ve loved you since the day I met you in first grade; the girl who would never go anywhere without her Barbie doll. Paige, will you marry me?”
Paige laughed. “Of course I will!” she said and he slipped the ring on her finger. “Even though you broke my Barbie Annabelle’s leg off.”
Glenn grinned and kissed her lips passionately.

He didn’t understand it. How could Bianca do this when she knew how he felt about this situation? Evil or not, there was a way to help save Zoey from this terrible fate and he was bent on finding that solution. Chris sighed as he glanced around the quiet street of the residential district that he and Bianca lived in. He could remember the first time they had moved into that apartment. It was not too long after their three month anniversary. He knew that it seemed like it was moving fast between them but he didn’t care. All he cared about was Bianca and being with her. His relationship with her took precedence over everything else, including the resistance. He loved her and that was all that mattered to him.
Chris couldn’t ever remember feeling the way he did about Bianca until he met her. Of course she was working against him at the time but that didn’t seem like a problem. He soon learned though that it would be. After Wyatt was leaked information on his relationship with Bianca, things got hectic. Bianca was now one of Wyatt’s enemies and also had committed treason by fraternizing with the enemy: Chris. Now both of their lives were in danger yet their love ran strong. They refused to let anything get in the way of that, even when the resistance protested it seeing as they grew concerned about having an ex-hit man of Wyatt’s working with them now. They didn’t trust Bianca but Chris didn’t care. No one would take Bianca away from him. Not without going through him first.
The engagement wasn’t expected though. Chris hadn’t even thought about proposing until he had come across the ring in a window display. When his eyes landed on it his mind was already made up. It’s now or never. He didn’t know when he’d die or when Wyatt’s reign would fall. He was truly in love with Bianca and if he didn’t propose, he may never get the chance too. So the proposal was set: in theory that was. He never thought about actually proposing to her until after he had planned it all out. He wanted it to be perfect and romantic. But of course Wyatt got in the way of that.
Aside from making their lives harder to live, he was becoming more powerful and rumor had it that he was now in search of the Hallow and a spell to resurrect Tempus, the god of time. Bianca had taken Chris aside and mentioned that there was one way to stop Wyatt once and for all and bring the world happiness again: he was to go back into the past and stop Wyatt from becoming evil. The trip would be a dangerous one and they would be separated for who knows how long.
That’s when he proposed. It was in the arboretum, their secret place, and she had said yes.
Now everything was different. Colder. He didn’t know what to do. Bianca was fixed on sending Zoey straight to the after life in hell and he was fixed on figuring out how she came to be this way. Why? What had prompted her to choose this side? Was it Wyatt? Was it just sheer hunger for power? He didn’t understand it and the harder he tried to grasp the idea, the more he found himself wishing to go back to the past and rescue her. To go back further than the time he broke up with her, to stop them from ever becoming an item in the first place. That was another problem he was having. He felt guilty about doing what he did to her and then just leaving her. He had never treated Bianca with the disrespect he had shown Zoey. He never did that to any of the women he dated. He had always been the good guy, yet with Zoey it was as if his inner demons, ones he never knew, were suddenly unleashed and she was on the receiving end of his ugliness and hatred.
She was right. He had used her. He wooed her and slept with her. Fought to win her back when she had been banished by the elders. Loved her even more then hurt her in sheer coldness without conscience. He knew she wouldn’t have cheated on him but he made himself believe that she had. He then led her on, sleeping with her and knowing that she still loved him despite everything, then broke her heart as ugly as he could make it all for the selfish reason: not wanting to just tell her the truth that he couldn’t offer her more.
That he hated the fact that she got to live her life the way she did while he was here on a mission to reshape the life that the whole entire world was living in his time…
Chris snapped out of his train of thought as he saw her in front of him across the street, at the entrance to the park. She gestured toward him with her finger, beckoning him to follow her. He did so and followed her deeper and deeper into the park until they were surrounded by trees everywhere and the cars from the street couldn’t be heard except for the occasional muffled sound.
Zoey turned to him, her hair falling over her shoulders in soft luxurious brown waves. Her eyes set onto him with a tender yet mischievous stare. “Told you we’d be seeing each other again,” she said.
Chris watched her carefully. “What do you want?” he asked.
She grinned slyly. “A lot of things,” she replied simply.
“Like what?” he asked as she circled him looking him up and down.
“Oh you know, the usual: world peace, an end to hunger, a cure for AIDS,” she stopped in front of him and smiled up at him, her brown eyes locking onto his green ones. “You.”
“I’m taken,” Chris replied with an in your face smile.
Zoey wrapped her bare arms around his neck and smiled up at him. “That didn’t seem to stop you before,” she pointed out.
Chris brushed her away and stepped back. “Things change; people change.”
Zoey smiled. “I can see that. The Chris I knew was smart. On the ball as the saying goes. Now you’re just pathetic and blind to what’s right in front of you.”
Chris glared at her and his jaw stiffened. “Then why don’t you tell me?”
“I think you know already but are just so far in denial that you’ve forgotten reality from self delusion.” She laughed softly. “I know Bianca’s planning to kill me. She’s been doing so for the past three months now; actively planning that is. I mean, she’s had the thought in the back of her mind for several months now.”
Chris looked at her. “I told her not to kill you,” he said quietly.
“Aww, well isn’t that sweet of you?” Zoey said in a saccharine sweet tone. “Tell her to bring it on. I could use a decent kill right about now. Something that will fight back.”
Chris grabbed hold of her shoulders firmly. “Don’t touch her,” he threatened through his teeth.
Zoey smiled. “Oh don’t worry Chris. I’ll let her hit me a couple of times. I might even let her go on fighting for five minutes. There’s just something in playing around before a fight that gets my adrenaline pumping and makes it all the more pleasurable.”
He pinned her against a large tree. “I said don’t touch her!” he said in a low violent voice.
Zoey’s eyes flashed violet. “I’ll smack her around here and there, dizzy her up a bit. Make her believe that she’s winning, let her strike blood. I’ll use my magic on her…” Chris’ grasp became tighter on her arms. “Then, when she believes she has the upper hand on things, I’ll stab her, shallow then deep and poof! No more phoenix.”
Chris pulled her away from the tree and then slammed her against it with a boost of his tk not even realizing he used it. A snap could be heard as the trunk of the tree broke with the force. Chris’ eyes widened as he saw that Zoey was unfazed. Instead she was smiling amused as if it were all a game.
He stepped back from her shocked at the fact he used both physical and magical strengths against her. Zoey stood up straight and looked back at the tree where an imprint of her body was made. She laughed. “Wow, Chris. I gotta tell you. I’m impressed.” She walked up to him as he continued to back away, backing himself into a tree. She looked up at him. “Aww, what’s wrong? Force can be good.” She pinned him against the tree, her grip on his shoulders like steel. “Don’t you agree?” she said and kissed his lips sweetly. When she pulled away from him she was breathless. “Tell your fiancé that I’m looking forward to our little meeting.” She shimmered out.

Phoebe sighed as she opened the refrigerator and pulled out the strawberry jelly. She went over to the island counter where she had already spread the creamy peanut butter onto her bread. She was in the middle of spooning on a very generous amount of the jelly onto her sandwich when Piper walked into the kitchen.
“Phoebe, I thought the whole point of you moving out and marrying Jason was that you’d stop coming here and eating,” she said as she grabbed a box of saltine crackers and took a seat in the chair. She was in her pajamas and bathrobe as she had been all day.
Phoebe glared at her sister. “Jason’s at a business conference in Tokyo for two weeks. Besides, it’s still my house.”
“True but it’s my food,” Piper teased. “Besides, all you do is eat lately. I swear, you eat like a….oh my god!” she exclaimed raising her eyebrows and her eyes widening.
Phoebe gave her a guilty smile. “Surprise?”
Piper smiled widely. “When were you going to tell us Phoebe?” she demanded.
Phoebe took a bite of her sandwich. “I was going to but we were busy with Chris and stuff,” she said with her mouth full.
“How long have you known exactly.”
Phoebe thought for a moment. “About five days now.”
“What?!” Piper demanded then got up and hugged her sister. “Congratulations Phoebe! This is so great! Well actually, your back will soon begin to ache, your feet will be sore; you’ll lose control of your emotions…”
“Piper, I think I get the point,” her sister said with a smile. She hugged Piper and then Zoey walked in dressed in a flowing white tank top that reached down to her thighs with her dark blue jeans and converse sneakers. “Oh, what are you dressed up for?” Phoebe asked curiously.
“A date,” Zoey replied distractedly. “How do I look? Is this too much for a first date? Are the earrings wrong with this outfit?”
Phoebe laughed. “Honey you look great; I thought that you weren’t ready for a relationship right now.”
Zoey grinned slightly and played with the hem of her top. “I know what I said and I change my mind.”
“Oh really? And why is that?” Piper asked with a curious smile.
Zoey looked at them. “Look, I’m not saying that this has to be that serious of a relationship and in saying that, I’m not saying that Keith is my rebound. I just think that I need to stop sulking around like some pathetic loser over a guy who’s never coming back.”
Phoebe nodded and smiled. “That’s a big move there Zoey. But I’m glad you’re finally moving on.”
Zoey nodded and smiled faintly. The door bell rang just then and her eyes widened. “Oh god! I can’t do this!”
“Yes you can,” Piper said pushing her towards the door and opening it. “Hey Keith; have a great night you two. Stay out as late as you want.” She pushed Zoey out of the door and quickly closed it behind her.
****
Keith smiled at Zoey from across the restaurant table where she sipped her iced tea and glanced around nervously. She then noticed Keith looking at her and blushed as she placed her ice tea on the table. Keith laughed softly. “Sorry; you look amazing tonight.”
Zoey’s cheeks turned even redder and she fanned herself. “Thanks. You don’t look so bad yourself.” She smiled nervously. “I’m sorry if I’m making this awkward it’s just….”
“What?” Keith asked leaning over the table to hear her better.
Zoey hesitated for a moment. “To tell you the truth, this is my first date…since my breakup,” she said. She laughed nervously. “Wow, I don’t mean to make it come off like…”
Keith laughed. “No, it’s cool. We’ll just take it slow.”
Zoey smiled at him softly. Keith looked at her for a moment. “So, how long ago was it? Your break up.”
Zoey shrugged. “It’s complicated. I guess you can say about almost two months.”
Keith nodded. “Same here; I broke up with my girl friend of two years.”
Zoey smiled, “Weird coincidence huh?” she laughed softly. “We were only together for about a year.”
Keith nodded. “Its hard I know that for a fact. I mean, when I broke up I was devastated but then as time goes on you begin to move with it too.” Zoey nodded but said nothing. “But then again, it could just be me. I mean, we were at a mutual understanding.”
“Lucky,” Zoey mumbled and took a sip of her iced tea. “I’m not sure how it all happened really; let’s just say it ended pretty ugly.” She then gave him a guilty look and blushed a bit. “I-I didn’t mean to make it sound as if you’re my rebound or anything like that.”
Keith nodded and then took her hand in his. “I don’t mind being the first date.” He smiled at her charmingly then glanced around at the people who were dancing. “May I have this dance?”
Zoey smiled and nodded.
