You have to play Grand Pree. Play on 50CC, and when you play the courses against the computer, it opens up another cup with more courses. Also, by doing this, you can unlock people & karts/bikes. But, you have to play it on 100CC, 150CC, & Mirror Mode to unlock most of them. One other thing, you unlock something when you play Time Trial. After playing so many courses. For me to unlock the final kart, I had to get at least ALL one star on 150CC. That's all I can think of at the moment, but if I remember anything else, I'll add it here.

What kind of cable hookup do I need to buy to add it to the internet? Do I just connect it to my laptop USB or do i need a special adaptor to hook it up directly to the router?

I had to ask my brother because he knows this stuff, and he was the one that hooked it up. He says there is two ways to go.
1. You can get the Wifi Modem. That hooks to your computer.
or
2. You can get the Ethernet Adapter. That hooks to the back of the system, and you add the internet cord to it.
He says number two would be the best way to go.

See thats what i thought too, but the ethernet cord and the USB cable arent the samething. The back of the Wii, that i see, only has the USB hookup. If i were to hook the Wii to the laptop, thats easy, but if i were to try and hook it to the router, it wont go. it would need some funky hookup to adapt the two together.
Nevermind. I figured it out myself.

LOL. I know what you mean. I don't even use the wheel Martin. I use the Wii Remote & the nunchuk. It's a lot easier to use. Also, I'm gonna give you a couple tips. 1: When you go over jumps, shake the Wii Remote. It gives you an extra boost. 2: When someone uses the POW, shake the remote & you won't spin out. You'll lose the item, but you won't spin out. 3: To get a boost in the beginning. Right before the 2 turns into a 1, hold down the A button, don't let go. It'll give you a boost. Took me & brother a few times to do it right, but you'll get it. :-) This should help some. My husband plays the mario cart all the time and he gets so frustrated with it. Do you have any help tips other then the ones you posted. I didn't know that you could just shake the remote to miss the pow. thanks

Yes, he did. There is a few shortcuts in some levels. Not much though. Probably by a second or 2, but anything helps. It's amazing how much its helped me.
For instance, in Wario Gold's Mine. When you get to the where all the gold mine karts are, at the end of the road before you enter the tunnel, you'll see the karts dropping off. If you go that direction, you'll enter another tunnel with 2 speed things. it's slightly faster than going the other direction. But make sure to avoid the gold mine karts.
Daisy's Garden: What I do here is if I have a Mushroom, the big one or the small one. If your at the beginning of the level, use the mushroom to go across the garden flowers instead of going all the way around. (I dunno if you already do that or not)
Oh! The biggest thing ever to help you is to not waste your items. Especially if your in first place. If you have a banana or a shell, keep it behind you. Don't let it go just because you might hit someone. If you have those items behind you. And someone throws a shell. You will not get hit because you have that item behind you. The fake item box will not protect you. Only the banana's and shells will.
You might know these already, but I wanted to share them anyways in case you didn't. I know there are more things, but I can't think of them at the moment. I just woke up. When I think of more stuff, I'll add them.
