Lemonhead is the expert of the show, but I can give you an idea. This man named Mick St John..............many ago's he was turned into a vampire by his wife. Even though, he never fed on humans. 50yrs later, he meets this human girl name Beth, she is a reporter. Together they help solve crime......crime that deals with Vampires. Towards the end of season 1, Beth and Mick fall in love.
So, this is basically what I know of it since I still haven't seen every episode. LEMONHEAD can add more on that if their is more 2 add.

Actually it goes deeper then that, and to get the entire jist of it, you should watch the pilot episide. "Theres No Such Thing As Vampires."
Mick St. John was a human til age 30, when he finally meet and fell inlove with Coraline, a Vampire. Only he didnt know she was one until she turned him against his will on there wedding night.
Mick met Beth by accident. Her mother had come to him and told him that her 4 year old daughter, Beth, had been kidnapped. Mick took the case and found that it had been his Ex-Wife, Coraline, who kidnapped her.
Mick saved Beth and he had been watched her grow up ever since. Years later, when things started become complicated, he ended up working with Beth, and falling inlove with er.
Its goes on from there, and its really best if you watch it from the begining.

Moonlight's a series not a movie. You cant really find full episodes anywhere, but youtube has videos and partial episodes. That might give you the general idea.
