Yes, we did see fire. Eventually. I had even complained about this. Yea, I also noticed that. They got it right in season 3 but they had to mess it up by adding flames before they blew up. I liked it without the flames better. But that was due to the friction of the molecules as they moved apart. Combusting molecules would have nothing to do with being able to move them, the opposite of freezing them, which was Charmed's explanation of Piper freezing time. She did *not* combust them. Manipulate, yes; combust, no. There's no way that would make sense with what she did when she froze time.

I just call it her exploding power. It is better to do that then come up with scientific terms for magical powers.

Why do you think the producers decided to change the effect from molecules seperating to bursting into flames?

Obviously they wanted to use up more of the budget for special effects...

I also think that Piper power is related to manipulation-rundown or acceleratiom -of the molecules it's not a fire power as Christy's or Tyler'e it's different

Obviously they wanted to use up more of the budget for special effects... Then why not have her freeze more? That was more expensive effect to do than blowing up demons.

I would've thought exploding would've been more expensive. Well, maybe now we know the *real* reason why she didn't freeze more once she got the exploding power.

I think they had her freeze less the same reason why Phoebe lost her powers.

I truly had no idea that you would need green screening for the freezing power. That might indeed be the reason. But if only the exploding power could be use defensively rather than offensively so that spells and potions could've been used for the actual vanquishing, I would've been happy.

You don't always need a green screen for freezing, I have done it myself without it.

I remember seeing a behind the scenes where they green screened for freezing, so I figure they use it all the time.

they only used it when they needed to. There have been plenty of times where they have done a freezing screen only to have the actor stay as still as possible. Sometimes you could still see the person slightly moving sometimes.
