Okay...let me see if I can do the math here. You enjoyed seasons one and three...yes? So Connie (1), Brad (1). Then the numbers change, how? Starting with season (4) what is your expert opinion. Realizing, that anything you say is on his shoulders. So from 4 on what seasons would you suggest to the viewing audience as superior...I would think that your answer would be the number we would add to Kerns brillent ability at story telling. Do look at me....I didn't set this up....

Blame, blame, blame, who cares?
Both Kerns and Burge are staff episode writers thrown into the big bad world of series writing. And, anyway, which one of us could have done better if we were in their shoes.
Neither one of them had the freedom that Whedon had with Buffy. Even Buffy had trouble with vision after the first three seasons. Even with Burge and the first two seasons, the show didn't have a clear vision. It was pulled in too many directions by the bean counters and marketers.

I was not a Buffy watcher but, ...that was one of the most totally specific & honest in the real world post I have viewed for some time. You are completely right in my dull and boring world....problem...I have learned that if we analyze this, we will all end up in the under appreciated, under paid and truly forgotten old folks home. OMG, I hope this was taken with tongue in cheek.
