One Quote that defines Charmed.

If there was one quote you thought that summed Charmed up in a nutshell, what would it be. Actors, Characters, a line from anything related to Charmed.

Mine is from Season 3, "All Hell Breaks Loose" where Shannen Doherty as Prue explains to her sister Piper:

"Okay, our lives (Piper), everything that we've worked for could be completely destroyed with-with one stupid mistake. Our entire future, our entire destiny could be wiped out just like that."

(Prue clicks her fingers and a gunshot goes off. Piper gasps.)

Amazing scene and just brings everything about Charmed out in two simple sentences!

Mine has to be from Season Two's "Morality Bites":

"The wrong thing done for the right reason is still the wrong thing. Our job is to protect the innocent, not punish the guilty."

ETA: The previous one is the one that defines "Charmed" for me. There is a totally different one that defines its spin-off, "The Perils of Poor, Poor, Pitiful Piper", which some people think of as "Charmed" starting with "Oh, My Goddess", which this quote is from. It's a bit longer than the previous ones, but it's truly what TPoPPPP was all about:

"The Elders were wrong about us. They didn't think our love could survive but it did. Our love blessed us in ways they couldn't even imagine. It gave you the strength that you needed to take over from Prue; it produced a baby with a greater future than any of us."

All about Piper and Leo; nothing about the Charmed Ones.

All of the above entries are quotes and choices that I like & respect very much, but when I was getting ready to post, I didn't look up any memorable quotes...I actually attempted to challenge myself by remembering one that really stood out in my mind. So, I came up with the following quote that Piper says through conversation with Phoebe in the attic:

From Season One; Episode 02 "I've Got You Under My Skin" -
Piper: "I don't know, it's like our whole lives have been like everybody else. Rushing off to work, going out on bad dates, buying shoes and suddenly we wake up one day and everything is different. We're witches now. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing."

Not only was this quote one that stood out in my mind, but Phoebe's response in assuring Piper that amid all of their obvious hesitations and shock that they experienced with the craft itself (so far), namely Jeremy & the acquirement of their actual powers at this point, that Piper needent feel down because their powers are a great thing about having been blessed as good witches - good witches that aren't completely immune from outside forces, but aren't in any way evil themselves because of all the good they had done so far and were still meant to do as part of their destiny.
Quite honestly, I chose this quote because it was really one of if not the first real tender moment in regards to their newly acquired heritage. That conversation was truly the start of what would later be identified as "destiny" - their "destiny"; one which was meant to be fulfilled all along.
In many ways, it's also a quote that lends itself to the fans of the 'original trilogy' so-to-speak because the conversation between Piper & Phoebe was the contemplation of what would, as I've said, later be revealed as the power of three's "destiny." In the last episode of season three, "All Hell Breaks Loose," Shax distininctely remarks that what was going on was quote, "the end."
We quite literally close the door on the third season having ended the first chapter in their "destiny," not only tying the three seasons in a trilogy of sorts, biut also unknowingly saying goodbye to the character of Prue Halliwell and Shannen Doherty forever.

When the girls go back in time Prue says "I'm Charmed" to the guy she is attracted to Mika

Paige says "I'm Charmed" when she is dealing with her past life self. That line is so cool I love it. I also have some other quotes but they are not from the Charmed show they are from a song I listen to Leanne Rimes Can't fight the moon:

"There's a magical feeling so right"

"It's going to get to your heart"

"You can try to resist"

"a gentle breeze that weaves it's spell upon your heart"

Another quote from Charmed which I changed part of the quote cause it is true In my opinion is "Charmed comes from Angels" I think the real quote is "You came from angels" the nun talking to Paige at the church she was dumbed at.

Repeating this one to say that since I posted this, I've realized that "The Perils of Poor, Poor Pitiful Piper" actually started in Season Four, that included this quote:

You three have accomplished something that few others ever dream of. By vanquishing the Source of all evil, you have fulfilled your shared destiny, much earlier than anticipated. Truth be told, some of us did think you'd never achieve it at all, but that's really beside the point. What's important is you have and because of that we're offering you a reward, a chance to chart a new destiny, one of your own design.

as compared to this one in Season One, the first season of Charmed:

We're the protectors of the innocent. We're known as the Charmed Ones.

The Angel of Destiny lied to them - they ended up on the path he wanted - the new destiny they'd been on since meeting Cole (and having Brad Kern being in charge) from protecting the innocent to vanquishing the latest Big Bad. I preferred the previous.

Es, I agree with you that my fave quote from Charmed is "The wrong thing done for the right reason is still the wrong thing." I think this was the biggest lesson they had to learn in the show!

I also love the quote from the last scene of the last episode:

"And although we certainly had our struggles and heartaches over the years, we’re a family of survivors and we will always be. Which is why we’ve truly been Charmed."

THIS is why I loved the show from the beginning, the family/human aspect of Charmed. Although this part of the show was lacking in certain seasons/episodes, I loved this quote. This specific line in the last episode really tugged at my heart, and makes me remember the Charmed Ones at their strongest (and I mean strongest in terms of their connection with each other).


I also love when she says "After all, it will be yours someday." - This also showed how it was family based (again, even though this was lacking in parts, this is what I loved about Charmed since the beginning).

Funny, had the series ended when it should've - after Season Four, I'd agree with you. After that one, the show never really was about that family connection - only Piper and *her* family - as shown by the fact that within that setup that we saw in the flashforwards (which I still believe is part of Piper's delusion as she dies after "Kill Billie, Vol 2), the Book would've belonged to Phoebe's granddaughter, not Piper's, since Phoebe's the one who had three daughters and it was Phoebe's heart who Melinda Warren touched when she saw a long line of strong women. All part of why I believe that's just a delusion and the Halliwells ended with "Kill Billie, Vol 2" when they *didn't* survive...only two boys raised by a mortal, two boys who couldn't reconstitute the Power of Three, so the Book would've gone back into the trunk and the trunk top close - the perfect ending of Charmed.
